NEW BEYWIKI FORUMS RULES - READ IMMEDIATELY - Bey Brad - Jun. 21, 2008

Due to the significant growth Beywiki has undergone over the past few months, the rules have been revised. I have done my best to keep the rules as simple as possible. If you have any issues with these rules, feel free to discuss them in this thread!

I would also very much appreciate suggestions on these rules.

GENERAL RULES
  • Please make an attempt to be productive with your posts. Don't respond to a post if you have nothing to add to the conversation.
  • There is no formal ban on swearing, but please do not use excess vulgarity in your posts.
  • Please respect the posts of the Staff and the Advanced members; they have earned their positions by being consistently good members.
  • It is against the rules to have more than one account. Registering for more than one account for yourself without staff approval will put all of your accounts at risk of being banned.

POSTING A NEW TOPIC
  • Please post all topics in the appropriate forum! Read the forum descriptions carefully. The "Questions and Comments" forum is for questions and comments regarding THE BEYWIKI WEBSITE, not anything else!
  • Please do not post a topic for an already existing subject. Use the Search function to check. If there is already an existing topic, the newest one will be locked.
  • Make sure your topic title is descriptive. For example, if you wanted to know about shooting techniques for Metal Change Core, a good topic title would be, "Shooting Techniques for Metal Change Core". Bad topic titles would be, "Question" or "Help!"
  • If you make a topic, be active in it! Please don't make a topic and then never respond to it.

POSTING ABOUT BEYBLADE
  • If you have a small question, please consider posting it in the "Ask a question, get an answer!" topic. However, if your question involves a lot of discussion, it would be better to make a new topic.
  • On the subject of discussing illegal modifications and other things that are prohibited by Beyblade's official rules, this type of discussion is not expressly prohibited. However, you are not allowed to give illegal suggestions or discuss illegal modifications and customizations as if they are legitimate Beyblades. This type of discussion is only allowed for hypothetical and novelty discussion only.
  • When discussing a specific Beyblade, please keep the discussion to one topic per Beyblade unless it is highly niche discussion.

SIGNATURE RULES
  • The general rule is, "If the signature is taller than most of your posts, you can't use it." The smaller the signature, the better. 200 pixels is about as high as you should consider going. Signatures that are deemed to be in violation will be deleted by staff without warning.

AVATAR RULES
  • The maximum avatar size is 120 x 120 pixels. Annoying gifs are not allowed. Violations will be deleted without warning.

Ok I understand that sometimes the altering of fonts can be a little obnoxious, but at the same time, isn't it a little overbearing to have a rule against it?

Wouldn't it have been much easier and less fire starting to just ask the members who are doing it to stop? :\

Just a little note: If the search function isn't working well, it's also good to use google. Run a search for "(search topic) site:forums.beywiki.com"

Honestly there has been such a ridiculous amount of backlash over this I'm probably going to scrap it. Which is a shame, because I think it's annoying as hell when people do it.

Font change rule has been removed.

Understood. I don't have a sig yet so that does not matter to me at the moment but the funny thing is some people's posts are short so their sig is going to be bigger but there aren't that many that post short ones anyway apart from Artee sometimes, I think.

RE: NEW BEYWIKI FORUMS RULES - READ IMMEDIATELY - mdhvdukshsj - Jun. 22, 2008

yeah because every single one of my posts should be bigger than my tim russert memorial. i think the rule just means no 600 x 600 nonsense when you post one word replies

also i love colors

Hey now, I at least said something worthwhile. lol

I think the reason you aren't getting any feedback is because there isn't really anything to nag about with these rules.

RE: NEW BEYWIKI FORUMS RULES - READ IMMEDIATELY - mdhvdukshsj - Jun. 26, 2008

well a lot of the new rules pertain to beyblade, so im sure theyll need to be enforced and discussed more when MFB comes out

I think no one have normally to comment the rules, a rule thread must be closed normaly. Because you made the rule you must say so! and nothing else.
What happend when all users say o noo this rule is carp you must write the rules over and over. And because of this i would say is the best to close it Wink

RE: NEW BEYWIKI FORUMS RULES - READ IMMEDIATELY - Bey Brad - Jun. 26, 2008

Beywiki is a community site, if the users cannot agree on the rules I will change them. I am not the owner of this site, the users are the owners of this site.

So in a way we are all staff members.

RE: NEW BEYWIKI FORUMS RULES - READ IMMEDIATELY - Bey Brad - Jun. 26, 2008

Yes.

RE: NEW BEYWIKI FORUMS RULES - READ IMMEDIATELY - red_eyes - Jun. 26, 2008

Yeah that's okay but belive me in the Rules one person must take it and say how it goes.

Okay example i don't agree with all rules pls delete them all no rules for fun

That isn't going to work. It's okay that the users are the owner but rules must be given from the founder.

i think so

RE: NEW BEYWIKI FORUMS RULES - READ IMMEDIATELY - Bey Brad - Jun. 26, 2008

Obviously I am not going to go with what anyone says ... but I want to take the user into account.
