RE: [Arizona, USA] anyone? - RTP49 - Nov. 17, 2010

Well, in order to do that, I'd have to sell more stuff on eBay; my PayPal is kinda dry at the moment due to WBO fees and etc, haha.

I'd absolutely love to, but part of the problem with this is that it's kind of hard to acquire single stadiums. Leoshop doesn't have BB-10s anymore, and sourcing them all individually through YJA would be quite costly. Muzinstore had a few a while back, but like several other eBay merchants, they'd probably compound shipping costs. So rather than paying about $10USD per BB-46 set and $30 or so shipping for everything, it'd be like $10+30 per item. Which is still pretty damn costly. If I can find any places that sell BB-10s and basically allow me to buy several of them and not get raped by shipping, then I'll be sure to let you guys know.

As for a weekly Beyblade league of sorts, I'd be all up for it. Only problem with that is the fact that I'm situated in the West Valley, so I wouldn't be able to participate as much as I'd like to.

RE: [Arizona, USA] anyone? - Wagalashi - Nov. 17, 2010

Yes i would have the same problem, which is why the location of the last tournament was at M.T.Hance Park because that is a central location of Arizona and it is pretty much in the middle of all big metropolitan areas

RE: [Arizona, USA] anyone? - Tark - Nov. 17, 2010

Well, I would love to host it in central of Arizona, But I am located in Mesa, And I just couldn't drive that far every Sunday, I think Dobson would be a Ok location. It is a very nice park that I have been to a lot. I think I will try and start it this Sunday. So here's the time, date, and location

This Sunday, 3 PM, at Dobson Park
Here's a link to how to get there

Well if you can find a source I'm in, depending on how much they are I might want to get 2. PM me if you get something going.

RE: [Arizona, USA] anyone? - RTP49 - Nov. 19, 2010

In regards to finding a source, I think I might be onto something: http://store.shopping.yahoo.co.jp/b-htoy/4904810780496.html

Basically, I'd have to go through a proxy service such as Shopping Mall Japan via this method. I've used SMJ before to buy Kamen Rider Belts; the shipping for one belt turned out to be about $50, though. But given the size of BB-10s, shipping could turn out to be more than $50, which would then result in you guys having to pay slightly more, depending on how it all evens out. Frankly, the only reason I'm apprehensive are the possibility of additional shipping costs that I may or may not be aware of.

However, if all goes well, We'd have more BB-10s for use within the valley, and I could sell whatever surplus to other WBO members. I don't have any money in my PayPal at the moment, though, so I'll try to get on that asap. How does this all sound to the interested parties?

RE: [Arizona, USA] anyone? - Wagalashi - Nov. 19, 2010

well i love the idea and i would love a BB-10 or any means of an attack stadium,takara-tomy or sonokong.

as for the obvious problem i cant get one because of the shipping but if you get one ill pay at LEAST like 20 bucks for either brand of the attack stadium...takara-tomy or a sonokong

RE: [Arizona, USA] anyone? - RTP49 - Nov. 19, 2010

I was thinking $15 to $20 would be the ideal price. Overall, the model would be something like "$12+split shipping fee."

I might want to use SMJ also as a means of acquiring Metal Faces and boosters, so let's see what happens in the next week or so as far as funds go. Hopefully the shop obtains some more Ray Unicorno boosters!

RE: [Arizona, USA] anyone? - EvilL drago - Nov. 19, 2010

if you do get BB-10s please inform

I'm in all the way. I'm also interested in the MF's and the boosters (depending on cost).

I'm in as well. 15 - 20 bucks is very reasonable. Thanks for the update, RTP49!

RE: [Arizona, USA] anyone? - Tark - Nov. 23, 2010

I also have another question, if I was to host a tournament in Dobson Park, On Sunday most likely, around three. Would anyone come?

RE: [Arizona, USA] anyone? - SaberLeomon - Nov. 23, 2010

I can't make it if it's in Mesa...or on a Sunday Uncertain

btw, I think I read someone posting about doing a tournament at Taiyou Con. I think that's a great idea. atm, I don't care enough about beyblades to drive to Phoenix for a tourney, but I would drive to Phoenix for an anime con AND a tourney. There are probably other people that feel the same, and it would be a good way to get new members. Plus...who's gonna make fun of us at an anime convention? xp

RE: [Arizona, USA] anyone? - colbster1997 - Nov. 23, 2010

The tournament portion was turned down as a major event (think like, masquerade, cosplay chess, etc), but the convention chairman thinks that the idea of a Beyblade tournament+panel is a great idea, and we're basically waiting on his word in December, which would be when the panel scheduling would all be finalized. I'm kind of skeptical about the venue though; I was there at Sabo 2009, and it was kind of small. Hopefully they can make accommodations for us somehow, because a setup with a projector for live pool results would be great.

Based on whether the venue would allow things like entry fees or purchasing "random lot" Beys off of us, we're also going to go for WBO certification. I'm just slightly skeptical about some of the younger participants at our last tournament; I highly doubt many of their parents would want to go to an anime convention just to do a Beyblade tournament. But we'll see.

I've also been meaning to make a new Arizona thread with information updates in regards to tournaments or meets and other miscellany on the first post for newcomers sometime soon, but I'd like to wait until I can see what's up as far as acquiring BB-10s from Japan via a proxy shipping service goes, first.

RE: [Arizona, USA] anyone? - Themailman - Dec. 10, 2010

Is anyone thinking about doing a tourney in January? 'Cause I think Beyblade+Spirit and I might try to organize a tournament in January, most likely at Margret T. Hans park again (doubt I spelled that right). This is all tenitive but still, could be fun.
