Beyblade Burst Nexus - GHero - Apr. 21, 2022
I was told I should make my idea into a story, so here we are.
Valt has always struggled to win Beybattles, but when a meteor gives him a major power up, he feels like he might have a fighting chance. But others have powered up too, like Valt’s childhood friend Shu, and there’s a secret to Valt’s powers that will change the way he sees Beyblading forever.

2 Beyblades raced around in the stadium, as 2 6 year olds stood at the edges of said stadium.
Valt: “Knock em out!” Valt’s Beyblade raced for Shu’s, however Shu’s simply dodged.
Shu: “End this with a Burst!” Shuks Beyblade swung around and smashed into Valt’s resulting in a Burst finish.
Valt: “Aww man! This isn’t fair. How come your’re better then me when I’ve been playing for longer.”
Shu: “It’s not about who’s been playing longer Valt. I think you just need to refine your battling style.”
Valt: “Alright then, it’s refine time! Let’s duke it out one more time!”
Shu: “You said that half an hour ago.”
Valt: “C’mon Shu, just one more.”
Shu: “You know I have to make dinner for my Mom, right?”
Valt: “Oh yeah…..alright then.” Valt frowned as he started to walk off.
Shu couldn’t resist the temptation. Shu: “Fine. Just a one point game.”
Valt: “Alright! You’re the best Shu!”
~4 Years Later~
Billboards lit up across the city with Tyne latest news. Valt couldn’t care less as he was just focused with getting to school on time. He went to school, barely survived the mountains of work, and returned home, a very boring cycle for his week days. Luckily for him, a glimmer of hope was waiting for him at home: his Beyblade. He was never good at the sport, but it was fun. For his New Years Resolution he decided to become a Blading Pro like Shu. The first step towards this would be beating Rantaro Kiyama, an up and coming hotshot from school, who had embarrassed him many times.
Valt stared at his Beyblade, thinking about the future. Valt: lJust you wait, Shu. Me and Valkyrie will race to the top, and even surpass you one day.” Valt looked outside, and the somber colors of the sunset drove him to sleep.”
*****BANG*****
Valt stumbled out of his chair half asleep, afraid a big earthquake hit. He raced downstairs to find everyone sleeping. After looking out of the window, no one else batted an eye. Why was he awake? He looked outside and saw a towering figure.
Valt: “What is that thing, it’s to bright to see! I think it’s a rock? Oh yeah, one of those space rocks we learned about at school. But it seems kind of strange. It’s shape is weird……I think it has ridges on the side, and a circle in the middle?” This curiosity led Valt to the crash site, Beyblade ein hand. Before he could even realise how stupid of an idea this was his Beyblade looked like it was glowing.
Valt: “Woah woah woah, My Beyblade. What is going on. It’s….changing.” The Beyblade levitated before dropping into his hands. Valt: “Valkyrie….wait what? Valkyrie? Why I’d I say that, is it your name? Oh I get it, you told me your name. Wait does that mean you can talk? Maybe the you were upgraded! Aww man, I was hoping for a miracle, but I didn’t actually think it would happen!”
Valt’s Head kept racing with thoughts, as he tried to rationalise the supernatural events that just took place. He eventually realised he should head home and go to bed, not that it helped as he couldn’t go to sleep after witnessing his standard issue Beyblade evolve into a sleek blue warrior.

I kinda like the text file end. As for the chapter, it was rather short in my opinion. The story also went short with barely anything happening, but your writing style isn't half bad.
Also, it seems like it is, correct me if I'm wrong, a rewrite of S1 but with meteors and more going on.

I do like the overall formatting of the story, and loved the ending. I do wish the chapter was a bit longer, though, so that the characters could be fleshed out more. Regardless, it’s a pretty solid start.
6/10. Can’t wait to see more.

Valt was holding his head up high in the days following Valkyrie's appearance. He had felt like he finally had gained the confidence to achieve his goals.
Valt: "Ya know, even though I have Valkyrie, I still haven't got up and done anything. Alright then, I'll enter the tournament! Surely Valkyrie can help me there!"
Valt entered the WBBA Stadium. As he lined up, his legs started to shake.Valt thought to himself.
Valt: This is so nerve racking! How come Valkyrie isn't helping me at all! Whatever, I'll just move forward and-
Valt bit his tongue as he stepped up to the register, and then passed out from the pain.
Valt awoke on a park bench outside, with a kid staring at him.
Valt: Gah! Who are you! Wait wait wait, did I register! What about-
The kid responded through puppetry, with 2 little beasts on his hands.
Besu: Calm down will ya! We helped you with your registration, so there's no need to worry!
Keru: Now scram already, our work is done!
Valt: Woah really! Thanks a lot! What's your name?
Keru: I said-
Besu: Calm down Keru. Let's hear him out. We're Kensuke's puppets, pleased to meet you!
Valt: Alright Kensuke! How about we have a battle, as a way of repaying you?
Kensuke was audibly confused.
Valt: Oh well you don't have to, I just usually do this with my friend Shu, so-
Keru: Shu, you know him? Interesting...fighting you might be worthwhile-
Keru couldn't talk as his mouth was used to hold Kensuke's Beyblade.
Beru: Check out our Kerbeus! The ultimate defense type!
Kerbeus shined in the sunlight.
Valt: Woah, this guy's awesome! Did you get an evolution too?
Besu: I don't know, we just woke up and he was there.
Valt: I guess that's a yes! Alright then, I deem you a worthy opponent! Let's throw down!
Valt and Kensuke both faced each other at the crudely made wooden park stadium.
Both: Let's do this! 3, 2, 1, Let it Rip!
Valkyrie smashed into the stadium, flying around as it ripped up shards of wood. Kerbeus entered the center, seemingly unfazed.
Valt: Your defense, can't match my speed!
Valkyrie sped up using Accel before smashing into Kerbeus. Kerbeus tilted, however, quickly rebounded.
Keru: It won't be that easy! Kerbeus, take down the blue boy!
Kerbeus tilted and rebounded once more, using the momentum to knock out Valkyrie!
Keru: Aw yeah, easy point!
Valt: Woah! How is he doing that! C'mon Valt, think, think, maybe he's using the wind. yeah, that must be it!
Kensuke thought to himself in disbelief.
Kensuke: Can this guy not see Defense or something? Whatever, I didn't really want to battle anyways, so let's finish this.
After some consideration, Valt was ready. Both bladers launched their beys into the stadium. Valt was sloppier than usual.
Valt: Oh no! Whatever, beat em up! If you're using wind against us, we'll mess up your current!
Keru: What are you on? Win won't do nothing!
Valkyrie wildly flung itself around the stadium, damaging itself in the process.
Valt: Wait, what? Then what is it doing then?I've gotta see it's ip, but the stadium's in the way...what, that's it! Faster Valkyrie!
Valkyrie smashed into the stadium walls, kicking up splinters and knocking the stadium around.
Besu: Woah woah woah, calm down big guy!
Valt: Your trickery won't work on me! Take this!
Valkyrie shredded through the stadium, splitting it in half. It then jumped to the other half and knocked Kerbeus, along with itself, into the air.
It seemed like time had stopped as Kerbeus and Valkyrie glided down to the ground. Kerbeus hit the ground, bursting. Valkyrie's lightweight nature, built for speed, had won it the match.
An angry notification rings out on Valt's phone.
Valt: Oh man, I've gotta go! See ya!
As soon as Valt exited his view, Kensuke whispered to himself.
Kensuke: What a strange fellow...but I didn't get any info on Shu,
As Shu walked home, a WBBA member approached him.
Member: You're Shu Kurneai, correct? I'm on the WBBA Staff Team, I'd like to talk to you about something.
Shu: Oh, is this about my rank again?
Member: It's a bit more....serious than that.

7/10 Writing isn’t bad, also it was short in my opinion, also you should have put spaces in between user one and 2 makes it easier to read anyway, good job on the plot

Tons of Bladers shouted in unison.
Valt: This is it...there's no going back.
Contrary to popular belief, a Tournament is pretty boring when you're not participating. However, Valt's turn rapidly approached as he watched a new prodigy.
Daina: Send them to the Netherrealm! Daina's Beyblade went so fast it was almost like it teleported. With a swift swing of its scythe, the opponent was easily dispatched.
Announcer: What a spectacle! Daina has been going crazy with his back to back 5 second kills!
Valt gulped. He had been doing...okay, but even though he had gained new confidence, there always seemed to be a bigger fish. Unfortunately, he couldn't run from the impending doom much longer.
Announcer: Our next match will be Valt VS Daina! Daina triumphantly walked onstage, meanwhile Valt couldn't help but trip due to stress. The entire crowd howled in laughter.

Valt: Don't..don't underestimate me. Valt tried to crouch but slipped onto his knees. He couldn't hold his arm steady. Valkyrie was about to fall off of the launcher. His ears were ringing, and everything was going blurry. He couldn't breathe. Valt thought he would collapse.
"I'll meet you there, in the finals"
Valt tried to hold his arm steady, but just strained his muscles. He tried to focus, but that just made his head hurt. He couldn't even get into position, but he had to win, because.....
Valt:"SHUT UP! The entire crowd went silent. Suddenly, it was like Valt's world had expanded. He was able to get into position.
Valt: I'm not losing this. I promise.
The Referee bgun the countdown, and the Beyblade's swiftly landed onto the stadium.
Valt: Go for i-
Daina: Take em out Doomscizor.
Doomscizor headed straight for Valkyrie. Valkyrie could only barely dodge. Despite this, Valkyrie went in for another attack. Doomscizor was easily able to counter, knocking both Beys back.
Valt: This guy...his Bey's just like mine! It has the same moves and stuff! But how do I beat myself? Valt thought hard, before thinking of Shu. Knowing there was no way he could match Shu's strength, he sighed in defeat.
Daina: No more wasting time! Doomscizor hit the edge of the stadium, and then circled around it, increasing in speed every second. Valt wanted Valkyrie to go a little further, just be a bit faster, just a bit stronger. But he couldn't.
Valt: Valkyrie! Don't lose! You can't lose! Valkyrie sped up, shaving off some of its tip. It matched Doomscizor's speed and attacks, eventually leading to both of them being knocked in the air.
Valt stared at Valkyrie who seemed to stare back, before leaving for the stadium. Valt couldn't win this. He was certain there had to be something about Valkyrie that he could tap into, but he didn't know what that was. He talked big, but in the end, he would just fall again.
But despite the overwhelming odds, despite the fact that he knew he was just lying to himself, Valt couldn't help but scream. He couldn't help but tell Valkyrie to go. He couldn't help but proclaim his eventual victory. He couldn't help but make the same mistakes, over and over and over again.
Valkyrie was knocked off balance, and its layer came into contact with Doomscizor's four blades, knocking both of these into the air. Valt saw that Valkyrie hit the ground, and knew it was over. He accepted it. His journey would end here. The crowd was going on about something, but he didn't bother to listen.
Announcer: The analysis is underway.....We have the answer folks! Doomscizor hit the ground, and Burst, right before Valkyrie hit the ground. Valt wins!!!!.
The crowd erupted in surprise cheers. Valt was confused. What was he supposed to feel, happy that he had won on a mere technicality. Happy he finally met his match. Happy that he was forced to head towards a pointless battle where he would undoubtedly lose. Happy
The rest of the day was a blur as Valt returned home. He sat at his desk and looked at Valkyrie. Valkyrie wasn't shining anymore. Valt thought back to better times.
Shu: You know what, I'm gonna enter the tournament this year!
Valt: You'll regret this! I'll beat you easily, and then get to the finals, and win it all!
Shu: Fine then, but I don't plan to lose either. I'll meet you there, in the finals.

That was 5 years ago. Why did Shu continue to put up with Valt's false promises? Why did he always stick around to meet him after school? Why did Valt act like this, for year after year.
Valt lifted his head, but he couldn't stare at Valkyrie. His heart didn't feel like it was beating. Valt wondered how he got to this point. Suddenly, his vision was blurry. Valt was crying, and he couldn't stop.
Valt: Dang it...why....why me? Why do I have to deal with this! Dang it! Valt slammed the table, before running outside. He visited the crash site again. The government was patching it up, but it looked smaller than he remembered. Maybe it wasn't a meteor after all.
Valt wondered how he got Valkyrie in the first place. Why was his Bey the one that radiated light? Why was his Bey the one with a supernatural shine to it? Why did he have to deal with this? Just as quickly as he left, Valt returned back to his house.
In his room, he looked at Valkyrie.
Valt: There has to be a reason. I feel like.......there's no way I got here on only accidents. I must have been doing something right, and I'll find that something, no matter what. So please, deal with my carp, just for a little longer!
Valkyrie glowed, and its eyes shone. Valt smiled, finally breathing a sigh of relief.
The next day was the weekend, so Valt started his plan. After doing some sleuth work, he found out where SHu trained and met him at a tall mountain.
Valt: Hey Shu! What's up!
Shu: Oh, Valt! Nothing, I'm just starting my training. By the way, good job! I heard you pulled off a major upset. Your new Beyblade's awesome. I'm excited to face you in the Tournament this year.
Valt's eye briefly swelled with tears, upon the realization that Shu was waiting for him each year, till he reached the finals.
Valt: About that...I wanna train. I just need to make sure that I'm 1 million percent gonna make it this year.
Shu: Well if you say so.....we can start with running up and down this mountain 5 times.
Valt: Five? It's so big though?
Shu: Catch me if you can, slowpoke.
Shu started jogging, leaving Valt in the dust. Valt struggled to match his pace, and in the end, he felt like he couldn't move his legs anymore.

Valt was faced with the task of balancing on one hand for 2 minutes at a time. After an hour of falling and scraping himself, a scar ridden Valt finally balanced himself, but only for 30 seconds.

Valt collapsed from exhaustion. WHen he finally had the strength to open his eyes again, he was at SHu's house.

Shu: Well, it's just spaghetti carbonara.
Valt: Can I try it?
Shu: Of course, I already prepared a plate for you.
Valt: After chowing down on food that tasted better than ever, Valt faced the next Tournament day with unrivaled confidence. He entered the venue early, and met Daina.

Daina:.....I just practiced with my friend.
Valt: Wow really? I actually just did that as well! Oh man, the tournament's starting gotta go!
Valt rushed to the stands, ready to fight. The time seemed to go by faster than usual. Valt noticed the loud ponytailed boy on stage winked at Daina in the stands. Could he be his friend?
Announcer: Our next match is.........Wakiya vs Valt!
Valt proudly marched up to the podium.
Wakiya: The luckiest loser of them all has joined the flight.
Valt: I'm a different person than I was last time! I'm not losing this!
Wakiya: Don't get cocky. Me and Wyvern are unshakeable!
Valt and Wakiya got into position.
Referee: Ready, Set? 3, 2, 1, Go Shoot!
Valkyrie flew through the stadium, as blue as ever. Wyvern took a comfortable position in the center. Valt thought for a second. Wakiya must gain some advantage from being in the center, so he should push him out of it.
Valt: Hit em hard, Valkyrie! Following the plan, Valkyrie hit Wyvern's blind spot between its shields, knocking it up to the stadium wall.
Wakiya: Checkmate! Wyvern, Burn them to a crisp!
Valt: Huh? What's going on?
Wyvern slammed against the wall, using the momentum to propel itself directly towards Valkyrie, knocking it out of the stadium.
Wakiya: How's that for a lucky finish?
Valt wanted to be mad, but came to a realization.
Valt: Oh I get it. You aren't actually mean, you just want revenge for Daina!
Wakiya: What? You met Daina? By the way, that is a very incorrect assumption, I'll have you know.
Valt: But you guys train and stuff, right?
Wakiya: just buzz off already! I'm at the top of my game, so no more holding back, ok?
Valt: Of course, there's no way I'm losing!
The next round began, but it felt like it was going to end the second it started.
Wyvern was knocked to the wall, and pummeled Valkyrie right after, causing Valkyrie to hit the wall.
Valt: Ugh, how can I do this! What strategies can I think of...what a second? I don't need to think about this! Daina already has!
Valkyrie pushed Wyvern out of the center once more.
Wakiya: Are you really this stupid? Whatever, just beat em up already!
Valkyrie hit the rim of the stadium, immediately catching onto Valt's idea. Valkyrie shined brighter than ever before, shooting forth like a whirlwind, smashing into Wyvern before it could hit the wall, and bursting it.
Valt: hahaha...we did it! Valkyrie, we did it! Valt could finally smile. He and Valkyrie were in perfect sync.
Wakiya: What the...you're surprising, I'll give you that!
Valt: Nice fight dude!
Valt reached into shake hands. Wakiya was perplexed by this kindness after his insults, and ran off stage.
Despite this, Valt was happy. He had advanced into the finals. Now all that's left is to have one crazy battle, and Valt wasn't gonna let Shu down.
Tons of Bladers shouted in unison.
Valt: This is it...there's no going back.
Contrary to popular belief, a Tournament is pretty boring when you're not participating. However, Valt's turn rapidly approached as he watched a new prodigy.
Daina: Send them to the Netherrealm! Daina's Beyblade went so fast it was almost like it teleported. With a swift swing of its scythe, the opponent was easily dispatched.

It was a new day, and after school Valt and Shu had stopped by the Beyblade store.
The TV rang with sounds of clashes as Valt and Shu checked out a power meter.
Shu: I guess this thing measures our Shoot strength. I'll try it out. Shu pulled the string with all his might, briefly wincing. The numbers were off the charts, and he had easily ranked #1 on the leader.
Valt: Woah, impressive!
Shu: You wanna try next?
Valt: ....Nah, I'm good. Even if I get a big number, raw power can easily be misused. What matters to me is what I do during the battle to adapt to my opponents strategies.
Shu: Wise words. However, does that mean you just rush in with no strategy whats-o-ever?
Valt came to a realization and was embarrassed.
Valt: Oh, well, making strategies on the fly just shows how smart I am, you know?
Shu rolled his eyes and sighed, before looking at his watch.
Shu: Oh, I gotta go. I'll meet you at the Stadium in 2 hours, ok?
Valt was confused, Shu was usually free until evening, but he didn't have time to question him since Shu quickly dashed out the door.
Shu arrived home once again. It was empty, as usual. Shu sat on the couch and looked at his right shoulder.
Shu: Dang it.... It was bruised. Shu knew this would hinder his ability to battle, but thought about his Mom, and then Valt.
Shu: Waiting for Valt has made me soft. Now that he's caught up to me, I can't let him down. I can't let Mom down.... I'll go beyond, I promise.
He checked out Spriggan, which shined, and then glowed red. Shu breathed a sigh of relief, but the crisis came back as quickly as it left when his phone rang with a notification. Shu had a Doctors check up.
-Some time passes-
Doctor: Now Shu, I know you're a hardcore Blader with a title to uphold, but if you keep battling right now, this upcoming battle will be your last.
Shu: But Doctor-
Doctor: No buts. This is an order from your Mom. Shu winced as his eyes glowed with anger. Shu couldn't help himself. He stood up, and then exploded.
Shu: Why does my damn Mom have to decide everything? All she does is work, she isn't even here! Doing everything she wants has made me soft! I have to battle, I have to!
Shu stormed out of the Doctors office and returned home.
He sat on his couch, unsure of if what he said was right, but the thought of Spriggan gave him no doubt in his mind that it was. He had to battle. For Valt. For everyone.
Valt was waiting at the stadium. Shu was late by multiple hours, but Valt decided to wait, since he had nothing better to do anyways. Suddenly Shu appeared, dripping with sweat, with a pain ridden face. He collapsed on the floor.
Valt: Shu!
Valt ran over to Shu's side, and saw him clutching his shoulder.
Valt: Shu did you train without me? Wait, what's up with your arm?
Shu: It's....nothing...
Valt: Listen, it's fine if you can't blade. We can just wait till next time, like you've done for me-
Shu: IT'S NOT FINE VALT. I've dedicated my heart and soul into this. Do you really want me to let you down?
Valt: Well no, but-
Shu: Exactly. We've both been waiting for this moment. If I let you down, I would never forgive myself. I'll surpass your expectations, I promise.
Valt: Shu, I don't care about the match right now. Yeah sure, I'm as pumped as you are, but that doesn't matter. You're hurt, you can't battle like this!
Shu: AND WHO ARE YOU TO DECIDE THAT? Valt grabbed Shu's shirt collar.
Valt: I DON'T WANT TO HURT YOU!
Shu pushed Valt off him, sending him to the ground. He then took out his bey and launcher, and launched with all of his might.
Valt: Damn it Shu-
Valt was mesmerized by Spriggan. It created intense gusts of wind, and began to glow red.
Valt: It's glowing, like Valkyrie!
Shu: I'm not like you, Valt.
The red glow transformed into a giant being wielding an axe, which split the ground between Valt and Shu.
Shu: I'm prepared to battle. Clearly, you're not. Will you cross over, or stay whimpering?
Shu walked about, disappearing into the smoke.
Valt reached out to Shu, but realized yelling wasn't helping. Shu wanted a battle, and all Valt could do was battle.
Valt crossed the line, waded through the smoke, and grabbed Shu's arm. Shu yelped in pain.
Valt: You're hurt. I don't want to do this.
Shu: I do.
Valt realized he had no choice, and let Shu walk away. After pondering the situation, he returned home.
Valt thought hard about what just happened in his room.
Valt: I guess I understand him, we've been waiting for a while...but...
Valt really wanted to forfeit the match, but needed a second opinion, so he tried to find Ken, but just ended up lost, until he stumbled upon a puppet show in the mall. After it was over, Ken revealed himself, as he was the puppeteer.
Valt: Ken, I need some advice.
Besu: About what?
Valt: Shu. I don't want to fight him, since he's hurt.
Ken realized the situation, and mustered up all of his strength to speak.
Ken: Well for me......I've wanted to fight Shu for a while............just to prove I'm more than what I am now..............but you've earned this, I think. I've been waiting a lot, and would take any chance I had to fight him..........No matter the cost. Even if I was hurt, my will surpasses that. Any wound would be a minor annoyance......that's what I think, anyways…………
Valt: Do you think I should fight him? I get that he wants to, but I don't.
Ken: If I never got to fight Shu....I think I would lose all hope as a blader. I'm sure he feels the same way.
Valt: Ok.....
Valt was still conflicted, but thanked Ken for the advice anyway. While on the sidewalk, he ran into a woman. After thinking hard, he realized it was Shu's Mom.
Ms. Kurenai: Hello Valt, sorry to bother you, but have you seen Shu?
Valt: No, what happened?
Ms. Kurenai: He ran off. I think he was mad about something related to you.
Valt: Related to me....
Valt thought hard for a second. Shu's Mom was clearly working hard, and Shu acting out would just ruin the family. It was all up to him to solve this, but Valt was really bad under pressure. All he could do was run away, past the people, and to the Local Stadium.
Shu was there waiting for him, as Valt was.
Valt: I've decided to fight.
Shu looked over at Valt, with shining eyes, before leaving.
Shu and Valt didn't talk for all of the days leading up to the Finals. However, as the days flew by, the Finals were underway.
Announcer: Welcome folks to the Finals of the Local Tournament! The crowd roared.
Announcer: In the right corner we have.......Shu Kurenai, wielding Spriggan! In the left corner we have................Valt Aoi, wielding Valkyrie!
Both Bladers stared at each other intensely.
Referee: Ready, Set......
Both: 3, 2, 1, GO SHOOT!
Valkyrie and Spriggan dashed through the stadium. Spriggan hit the rim as Valkyrie gravitated towards the center. Spriggan smashed the wall, and hit Valkyrie point blank. Valkyrie was blown back, but was still in the game.
Valkyrie smashed into Spriggan with all its might, but Spriggan tanked the hit. But Valkyrie and Spriggan hit each other with a series of blows, Valkyrie barely matching Spriggan's power each time.
Shu: Let's do this! SPRIGGAN!
The axed beast appeared again, presumably Spriggan. It loomed over Valt. He had never experienced this sensation before, even though both Valt and Shu had glowing beys.
Shu: COUNTER BREAK!
Spriggan swung its axe before disappearing, leaving Valt startled. Spriggan him the rim out the stadium, sped up, and smashed into Valkyrie, bursting it.
Shu: Are you just gonna cower in fear? Is this all you've got?
Valt couldn't answer Shu. He was completely flabbergasted, and the reality of losing dawned upon him. Valt tried to ready his launcher, but couldn't keep his hands stable. Valt thought to himself.
Valt: Not again. I swore that I wouldn't back down anymore, but why do I feel different this time? It's like....Shu's unbeatable. Shu glowed with a red aura. Valt was prepared to give up, but a long and shiny weapon stabilized his launcher, before pointing it down.
Valt: Huh? Valt looked behind him, to see a blue warrior riding on a horse. The exact thing he thought of when he saw Valkyrie. Valt smiled.
Shu: So Valkyrie's appeared? Alright then. Don't back down!
Valt: I don't plan too! Valt decided to trust in Valkyrie's tilted launcher plan. Both bladers were brimming with confidence as they launched once more.
The TV rang with sounds of clashes as Valt and Shu checked out a power meter.
Shu: I guess this thing measures our Shoot strength. I'll try it out. Shu pulled the string with all his might, briefly wincing. The numbers were off the charts, and he had easily ranked #1 on the leader.
Valt: Woah, impressive!
Shu: You wanna try next?
Valt: ....Nah, I'm good. Even if I get a big number, raw power can easily be misused. What matters to me is what I do during the battle to adapt to my opponents strategies.
Shu: Wise words. However, does that mean you just rush in with no strategy whats-o-ever?
Valt came to a realization and was embarrassed.
Valt: Oh, well, making strategies on the fly just shows how smart I am, you know?
Shu rolled his eyes and sighed, before looking at his watch.
Shu: Oh, I gotta go. I'll meet you at the Stadium in 2 hours, ok?
Valt was confused, Shu was usually free until evening, but he didn't have time to question him since Shu quickly dashed out the door.
Shu arrived home once again. It was empty, as usual. Shu sat on the couch and looked at his right shoulder.
Shu: Dang it.... It was bruised. Shu knew this would hinder his ability to battle, but thought about his Mom, and then Valt.
Shu: Waiting for Valt has made me soft. Now that he's caught up to me, I can't let him down. I can't let Mom down.... I'll go beyond, I promise.
He checked out Spriggan, which shined, and then glowed red. Shu breathed a sigh of relief, but the crisis came back as quickly as it left when his phone rang with a notification. Shu had a Doctors check up.
-Some time passes-
Doctor: Now Shu, I know you're a hardcore Blader with a title to uphold, but if you keep battling right now, this upcoming battle will be your last.
Shu: But Doctor-
Doctor: No buts. This is an order from your Mom. Shu winced as his eyes glowed with anger. Shu couldn't help himself. He stood up, and then exploded.
Shu: Why does my damn Mom have to decide everything? All she does is work, she isn't even here! Doing everything she wants has made me soft! I have to battle, I have to!
Shu stormed out of the Doctors office and returned home.
He sat on his couch, unsure of if what he said was right, but the thought of Spriggan gave him no doubt in his mind that it was. He had to battle. For Valt. For everyone.
Valt was waiting at the stadium. Shu was late by multiple hours, but Valt decided to wait, since he had nothing better to do anyways. Suddenly Shu appeared, dripping with sweat, with a pain ridden face. He collapsed on the floor.
Valt: Shu!
Valt ran over to Shu's side, and saw him clutching his shoulder.
Valt: Shu did you train without me? Wait, what's up with your arm?
Shu: It's....nothing...
Valt: Listen, it's fine if you can't blade. We can just wait till next time, like you've done for me-
Shu: IT'S NOT FINE VALT. I've dedicated my heart and soul into this. Do you really want me to let you down?
Valt: Well no, but-
Shu: Exactly. We've both been waiting for this moment. If I let you down, I would never forgive myself. I'll surpass your expectations, I promise.
Valt: Shu, I don't care about the match right now. Yeah sure, I'm as pumped as you are, but that doesn't matter. You're hurt, you can't battle like this!
Shu: AND WHO ARE YOU TO DECIDE THAT? Valt grabbed Shu's shirt collar.
Valt: I DON'T WANT TO HURT YOU!
Shu pushed Valt off him, sending him to the ground. He then took out his bey and launcher, and launched with all of his might.
Valt: Damn it Shu-
Valt was mesmerized by Spriggan. It created intense gusts of wind, and began to glow red.
Valt: It's glowing, like Valkyrie!
Shu: I'm not like you, Valt.
The red glow transformed into a giant being wielding an axe, which split the ground between Valt and Shu.
Shu: I'm prepared to battle. Clearly, you're not. Will you cross over, or stay whimpering?
Shu walked about, disappearing into the smoke.
Valt reached out to Shu, but realized yelling wasn't helping. Shu wanted a battle, and all Valt could do was battle.
Valt crossed the line, waded through the smoke, and grabbed Shu's arm. Shu yelped in pain.
Valt: You're hurt. I don't want to do this.
Shu: I do.
Valt realized he had no choice, and let Shu walk away. After pondering the situation, he returned home.
Valt thought hard about what just happened in his room.
Valt: I guess I understand him, we've been waiting for a while...but...
Valt really wanted to forfeit the match, but needed a second opinion, so he tried to find Ken, but just ended up lost, until he stumbled upon a puppet show in the mall. After it was over, Ken revealed himself, as he was the puppeteer.
Valt: Ken, I need some advice.
Besu: About what?
Valt: Shu. I don't want to fight him, since he's hurt.
Ken realized the situation, and mustered up all of his strength to speak.
Ken: Well for me......I've wanted to fight Shu for a while............just to prove I'm more than what I am now..............but you've earned this, I think. I've been waiting a lot, and would take any chance I had to fight him..........No matter the cost. Even if I was hurt, my will surpasses that. Any wound would be a minor annoyance......that's what I think, anyways…………
Valt: Do you think I should fight him? I get that he wants to, but I don't.
Ken: If I never got to fight Shu....I think I would lose all hope as a blader. I'm sure he feels the same way.
Valt: Ok.....
Valt was still conflicted, but thanked Ken for the advice anyway. While on the sidewalk, he ran into a woman. After thinking hard, he realized it was Shu's Mom.
Ms. Kurenai: Hello Valt, sorry to bother you, but have you seen Shu?
Valt: No, what happened?
Ms. Kurenai: He ran off. I think he was mad about something related to you.
Valt: Related to me....
Valt thought hard for a second. Shu's Mom was clearly working hard, and Shu acting out would just ruin the family. It was all up to him to solve this, but Valt was really bad under pressure. All he could do was run away, past the people, and to the Local Stadium.
Shu was there waiting for him, as Valt was.
Valt: I've decided to fight.
Shu looked over at Valt, with shining eyes, before leaving.
Shu and Valt didn't talk for all of the days leading up to the Finals. However, as the days flew by, the Finals were underway.
Announcer: Welcome folks to the Finals of the Local Tournament! The crowd roared.
Announcer: In the right corner we have.......Shu Kurenai, wielding Spriggan! In the left corner we have................Valt Aoi, wielding Valkyrie!
Both Bladers stared at each other intensely.
Referee: Ready, Set......
Both: 3, 2, 1, GO SHOOT!
Valkyrie and Spriggan dashed through the stadium. Spriggan hit the rim as Valkyrie gravitated towards the center. Spriggan smashed the wall, and hit Valkyrie point blank. Valkyrie was blown back, but was still in the game.
Valkyrie smashed into Spriggan with all its might, but Spriggan tanked the hit. But Valkyrie and Spriggan hit each other with a series of blows, Valkyrie barely matching Spriggan's power each time.

this is a new one! awesome episode dude! you clearly showed the mindset of both valt and shu through their actions and words, and I felt completely sympathized with Shu, kinda. great job on this and keep up the good work! i'll be following on this fanfic!
