Rantaro tied with Valt in the legend fest but the reason Valtryek burst was because Roktavor bounced off Satomb and crashed into Valtryek, the force of that caused a double burst, we all know Valt is stronger than Rantaro. As far as the twin break impact is concerned, I don't really know how to even judge that given all the factors involved with it, I don't think that can really be used to scale. He still burst in the end. At the very least we know that Rantaro can tie with Hikaru from the first match of the tag league semi's.

Even so, Rantaro wouldn’t be battling at full power either so we are only left to speculate tha they are equal based on the actually evidence. Each time they battles both bladers were knocked back on equal ground. If we say Free wasn’t going full power we could say the same for Rantaro. We know that when he gets full on serious Rantaro can cause colloidal damage (large enough to engulf the entire stadium in an air mass). 

Yes, Rantaro was having trouble holding Lui off but this was because he used the storm plate to greatly boost his power, it’s even mentioned in the subtitles. That’s why Lui easily one shots Valt out of the before going head to head with Kiyama. Once Rantaro used glide tornado he began to force the storm plate powered Lui back albeit slightly before Lui escaped. Yes Rantaro beat an unfocused Hikaru but that has a lot more claim than Free eliminating a completely vulnerable Drum (Drum literally couldn’t even resist) with only a knockout while still having to use the storm plate, a special move and the rails, Free basically just got a FREEbie. As for the twin impact break, it is a little weird but I would still say that it can be factored in. Hyuga getting the boost from Valt to beat Free and Lui basically falls under the same boat, main difference is that Hikaru actually survived due to the moves function. I just rewatched the BC Sol tag battle and I can confirm that Ragnaruk did not bounce off of Satan and bump into Valkyrie, Valkyrie got sent straight into the air and into a burst while Ragnaruk burst when it hit Satan and got sent up meaning that Rantaro basically won. Here’s the proof:

I slowed it down to make it visible but we can see that Ragnaruk doesn’t actually hit Valkyrie. Doesn’t change the fact that Valt is generally the better blader based on feats and statements but it’s definitely its own feat nonetheless.

Lui wasn’t in base form though, he was boosted greatly by the storm plate (it is even said in the subtitles a couple of times), that’s why he easily sent Valkyrie flying before colliding with Ragnaruk. Still a good discussion though.

I'm talking about the fact that he's wasn't resonating and that boost from the plate doesn't last all battle. He initially knocks away Valtryek and pushes back Roktavor, but then Rantaro uses glide tornado which halted that boosted momentum, after which Lui knocks him away with ease, which wasn't the case with Free. But I really have to go now so I'll leave it at that. I'll agree to disagree. Good talk as usual.

Honestly, im doubting it. The guy is a little too hated to come back- and the burst writers do actually take that into account (reason why Zac/Kitt don't return in the anime and such).

On an entirely different subject, I can't help but facepalm when people say that the manga legends ranks apply to the anime. The wikipedia page should be edited to reflect that the rankings apply only to the manga as of now (until someone namely Hiro Morita, says otherwise). It's pretty basic knowledge concerning any series with multiple different continuities.

The anime never confirmed the rankings iirc, so anything we say would be an assumption or headcanon. Only Aiga's championship title is confirmed iirc and that title is as worthless as his winrate. My assumed anime rankings of the returning characters:
1. Valt and Shu
3. Other legends
4. Ranjiro

While on the subject, what manga rankings would you guys rather see changed? Here are my changes:
1. Daigo over Zac and Wakiya. I see a drive to win in Daigo absent in the other two. He won't cheat anymore but he will fight in a pragmatic manner. Basically, I think he has a better shot at victory.
2. Silas over Xander. Silas worked hard to overcome Xander, imo it should stay that way.
3. Delta and Gwyn over Phi. I feel the GT trio are too close in power level for anyone to come between them.

Silas/Sisco has actually never surpassed Xhaka/Xander in the manga so it's pretty much doesn't have a valid reason to put sisco/silas over xhaka/xander if we are basing it off on the manga continuity itself.

Yeah Valt is still stronger, was nice to see serious Rantaro though. I actually never noticed the first time either, only realized after I watched the battle a few times.
