It looked like stuff from Old Navy. ![]() RE: Fashion Thread: This is for all you awkward nerds out there - G - Apr. 12, 2009 LOL Spring is here now, so that pretty much ends my winter style which saddens me. RE: Fashion Thread: This is for all you awkward nerds out there - Bey Brad - Apr. 12, 2009 (Apr. 12, 2009 11:31 PM)G Wrote: LOL same i dunno wtf to do for summer will probably get some tanktops and roll my sleeves up and call it a day RE: Fashion Thread: This is for all you awkward nerds out there - Narusuke - Apr. 12, 2009 I agree, I like layers, I like wearing multiple shirts and different coats, spring and summer its all shorts tees and polo's, unless you want to bake. So I would be open to suggestions for some good clothes for summer. RE: Fashion Thread: This is for all you awkward nerds out there - G - Apr. 12, 2009 I wore beaters all last summers hahaha. But this year I may end up just wearing plain old t-shirts and switch around with like sleeveless hoodies. RE: Fashion Thread: This is for all you awkward nerds out there - Narusuke - Apr. 12, 2009 Sleeveless hoodies huh? That's an interesting one right there, I like that. I usually wear polo's but most of them have stupid color combinations T_T But tees and sleeveless hoodies don't sound too bad. RE: Fashion Thread: This is for all you awkward nerds out there - Bey Brad - Apr. 12, 2009 i love sleeveless hoodies i want this one [Image: tfnjc505-img450x600-12319376258rbsri72942.jpg] RE: Fashion Thread: This is for all you awkward nerds out there - AnnieDuck - Apr. 13, 2009 (Apr. 12, 2009 11:03 AM)Sega Wrote: 6 Months is a pretty long time... I still sometimes wear my Old stuff, but prefer the Vintage stuff. Vogue and Harper's Bazaar (and other similar magazines like Numero, i-D, etc.) don't really shove trends down people's throats. It's more about presenting the concepts that are coming down the runways, and discussing how to integrate them into your own wardrobe. It's publications like InStyle and Cosmo that do the trend-shoving. What I'm trying to do with this thread is try to help people better understand things like shape, colour, silhouette, and texture in the context of fashion and how they dress themselves. Once visual comprehension of those concepts is established, it's much easier to shop because you won't just be randomly grabbing at things you think are cool. You'll understand what really works for yourself, your body type, and your personality, as well as (with luck!) develop a better eye for quality and construction. Now, let me ask you this: What does this "Vintage" style your describing look like? What sort of concept are you going for? Considering the breadth of time the term vintage covers it really could mean any number of things, and I'm quite curious about ho you define it for yourself.
