This episode was definitely one of the most anticipated and amazing for me! The battle was intense, I was so imerse in the episode that I wasn't even blinking. Haha
This battle felt like that Brooklyn vs Kai in the first gen in G-Rev. So brutal, yet so cool! The animation was awesome, the sountrack was amazing, they made everything so right!
One thing I admire in Beyblade Burst, the guts these producers have to do everything they've done for this series since the very first season. They're not afraid of hurting the characters (and sometimes the audience, considering they're mostly children)! And they just did it again. I wonder what's gonna happen to Shu now. Is he gonna retire from the BeyStadiums and become some sort of tutor? Or we'll be seeing a new Spriggan just like the possible Slash Valkyrie?
One of my favorite Beyblade Burst episodes for sure! I hope GT has this same intense battles!

I feel worse and worse recently.
Actually it is not unacceptable for me that Shu lose. The thing is, why Spriggan breaks again?
This year, too many beys are broken in the anime. Vise Leopard, Winning Valkyrie, Z Achilles, Dead Hades, Geist Fafnir and now Cho-Z Spriggan. This is called Beyblade Burst, not Beyblade Break or Beyblade Crush. Breaking one or two beys is acceptable, but this time it’s too many.
And one thing more unacceptable. Shu told Aiga not to use the dark power, and Z Achilles get broken because this dark power. However, now Shu’s Bey breaks as well. Isn’t that contradictory?
BTW, what I want to watch is that some kids play beyblade for fun, not for such sad story.

We asked for it, we got it! Episode review:
First of all, I wish I didn't oversleep for the premiering of this episode, I had three alarms for crying out loud. Oh well. Anyway, this episode picks up from where we left off, sort of. It shows Hearts entering the building to witness their match. So Phi vs Shu finally starts and yeah, a lot of insane hits, a lot of barrage attacks which the goal was to push in Spriggans Cho Z wings, which is a good strategy, and would be cooler if Kit didn't already do it and with more style. Well anyway, Shu knocks out and BURST FINISH! Wait... isn't it? Well after the zoom up, Phoenix barely managed stay on after it hit the floor so technically, it's an over finish... Shu is going to lose 3 - 1 isn't he?... I mean I guess it's impressive that he ALMOST bursted Phoenix, especially with it's armour still on. Yeah the audience was bummed out about that. After the first round we get treated to a flashback which I think took place right after Hearts vs Phi, from what I could understand Hearts was asking about his Hades, but someone will have to fill me in on that.
Second battle starts and everyone is chanting for Shu, that's nice... but that never worked for Kensuke, just saying. And it seems like I was right because on the second round, Phi uses Dead Break, exactly like Counter Break, and speaking of which, Shu uses that move and tries to knock out Phoenix, but both end up out of the stadium, but Phoenix hits the floor a split second after so that means Phi wins an over finish.
Even more determined, Shu decides to use Stamina Mode, as Phoenix is a defense type. Spriggan barrages Phi, until Phoenix screams "HAKAIDA" again, which causes his armour to break off. I should also point out that Spriggan has yet to knock off the Dead Armour until this round, but Free managed to in every round, so make of that what you will. Anyway, Phi does a really really cool move, which is Dead Stinger but faster and more constant, it also uses a Dead Gravity move meaning Spriggan is taking a lot of heavy shots and there's nothing it can do. Shu and Phi are in this sequence where everything is monotone and Shu is wrapped by black energy, but immediately breaks out of it, much to Phi's shock. And now we get to everyone's favourite bit, Phoenix uses Dead Break without armour so he is now really fast and will hit really hard, along with the armour, push Spriggans wings in and cracks the thing, making LOL-y Ranchers edit a reality. Guys! You don't need to worry now! They spared us from seeing our favourite characters bey break! Phoenix didn't break yesssss! It's okay now, it was Spriggan that broke, not Phoenix, the worry is ove- oh wait... I'm reading the comments and there's a lot of angry... Shu fans? This doesn't make sense let me check..
Oh... oh I see, Shu was that fan favourite people were on about, huh... dang that sucks. Honestly though, I thought the breakage was really cool, and it was probably necessary too. Besides, Shu should be used to it by now, and saw it coming, and his breakage is bad but not quite as brutal as Fafnir's IMO, as we don't see tiny fragments off it.
So yeah Shu is distraught about it but takes it better than he did in Episode 49 of the first season, so you won't really be upset, but it is understandable seeing as the poor guy had his beys broken enough already. After Aiga and Valt pledge to defeat Phi, Shu seems happy and so does Free. Hearts confronts Phi but Phi doesn't seem to listen and freaks Hearts out with his black eyes. Aiga then looks at the stadium in Shu's training room and who should come in and... of course it's Ranjiro and Fubuki again. Shu seems to have gotten over his loss as he is seen calmly talking to Valt, so if Shu can get over it, so can you.
Anyway, the episode is fantastic, it really delivered on the hype and I really hope episodes this good pop up again. Man TT had a lot of guts to do this, I mean, they just opened a floodgate full of angry Shu fans who will be hunting down anything associated with Phi and destroy it.

COME ON ,AIGA IS THE PROTAGONIST OF THIS SERIES,AND THIS IS THE LAST BEYBLADE SERIES IN WHICH AIGA IS THE PROTAGONIST.
*SO HE WILL EVENTUALLY HAVE TO BECOME THE CHAMP*
IT CAN BE IN ANY WAY
HE WINS AGAINST PHI
THEN WINS AGAINST OUR WONDER BOY
OR
HE LOSES AGAINST PHI
THEN PHI WINS LOSES/WINS AGAINST VALT
THEN AIGA WINS AGAINST VALT/PHI in the final battle.....
point is aiga being the protagonist, will obviously become the best blader by the end of the series

Big text post about this episode and other parts of Cho-Z below, lol.
I gotta say, I'm really tired of the anime's habit of breaking every bey that goes up against the big bad. IMO it was fine the first two seasons, since when Spriggan broke in S1, it was because Shu was neglecting his bey's condition because of his fear of losing. In S2 when Spriggan broke Longinus, it was to reflect how Shu had become an entirely different person as a result of the Requiem Project. I feel like the times the Anime-only breakings of Reboot and Twin Nemesis were pretty uncalled for since they really didn't fit thematically, but while the former happened for marketing reasons bc they gotta market that Ultimate Reboot, the latter really had no reason to happen besides "woa the big bad broke another bey, how cool amd edgy"
Pretty much every break in Cho-Z falls under the category of "woa the big bad broke another bey, how cool and edgy" too. Phoenix breaking Leopard was unnessecary and didnt even matter in the end since Laban got a new vL anyway, Achilles breaking Valkyrie was awful since not only was it unnessecary, but it gets treated like its no big deal. Some people write it off as "well if it didnt break he wouldnt need to get Cho-Z Valkyrie" but like. This whole season starts off with Valt getting a new bey to stand up to bigger challenges. His bey was still Strike God Valkyrie, and it wasn't broken or anything either. Not to mention, a majority of the upgrades we've seen made in the series do not require the original to be destroyed, like Ragnaruk and Xcalibur. The story could have ommitted Winning Valkyrie's destruction and nothing in the narrative would change. I feel like the only justified breakage in Cho-Z is Z Achilles, since it does fit alongside the first few breaks that felt meaningful and feels right. Aiga broke his bey by his own hubris, just like Shu in S1, and now by making a new bey, he can start over and learn from his mistakes.
But after that, literally every other break has been uncalled for and just plain mean. Phi's recent string of Bey breakages feels really insulting in my opinion. Dead Hades breaking to make Phoenix evolve is kinda understandable, but the way its framed just makes you feel so sorry for Hearts, especially considering that we're probably never going to see a new Hades release. In the case of Fafnir, I'm mostly just upset because Free really had no reason to be in Cho-Z, lol. He just kinda shows up for a few battles that are cool, sure, but he does not add anything by being there. He shows up, kicks some butt for a few episodes, and now the big bad has taken him out of action. What a waste, haha. In the case of Shu, I feel like its the same case as the breakages of Leopard and Valkyrie: It does little to service the story and only makes the audience feel bad for the character.
I feel like a lot of people will be mad about Free and Shu losing to Phi in the same way they were about Lui losing to Aiga in the first arc, because for some reason everone wants the same few characters to be the strongest threats every season, but I feel like Lui vs. Aiga worked because the stakes weren't as high. Sure, some may believe Aiga shouldn't have beaten Lui because "he's a noob" or whatever the excuse for hating Aiga is this month, but theres nothing stopping them from battling again and having fun, and most importantly, they won't go out of their way to break someone's bey. Lui never went out of his way to break anyone's bey, he just let whatever happened happen. Phi, on the other hand, seems like his only objective is to break everyone's toys, make surrounding characters irrelevent, and revel in the resulting tears. I feel like all of this could have been easily not been the case had the writers kept their urges to make everyone sad to themselves.

Phi won. 3-1. And yes, Spriggan broke.
First Battle, Shu wins with a KO. He was really pissed off though, like really pissed, I haven't seen that Shu since God Shu.
Hearts comes out of nowhere. Then we see a flashback of Hearts and Phi after the Hades beeaking Saga.
Then there is a Shu, Aiga and Kit flashback, I have no idea what Shu said, the only thing I thought I got right is Kit saying Red Eye.
Second battle, Phi wins with a KO.
Third battle is where the actual abttle started for me.
The conversations between Shu and Phi were so intense, Shu had soo much faith in him and Spriggan. But well, some things have to happen you like it or not.
The way Shu changed the Zeta mode before the battle, I was left in awe. It was soo cool! Everyone is cheering for Shu from Aiga's side.
Then the battle starts, Phi and Shu both go full on, Shu is trapped in dP's armour attack, and then, a dark aura covers Shu, akin Kai vs Brooklyn.. And he, punches out of it!! This was the time I got a little hope that yes! Maybe Shu has got this one!
But then, the Dead Stinger comes in, Phi pushes the black tabs of Spriggan in, like alot of us anticipated, and then, the screen turns white!! And then black cracks appear, Shu's face is shown, terrified!
And dun dun dun, Spriggan breaks into 4 pieces.
Shu, sits on the ground, punches it, and then Valt comes from the back, standing up for his friend, challenging Phi, but then Aiga comes in and challenges Phi and Valt let's him!!
Well, then we see all of them at the New York Bulls centre training, Shu and Valt and sitting on the bench, Aiga is practicing and Fubuki, Ranjiro and Kit show up and train wih Aiga.
Here Shu and Valt have a conversation, which I didn't get. And the episode ends, with Aiga practicing his shoot.
Now the title Our Beyblade makes sense.... Well, great episode, if wanted to ask for something more, it would be a more serious and emotional Shu's reaction.. Overall, a jam packed episode!
So yeah, Shu did pull of a Kai vs Brooklyn, but Battle 1.
about the shu, valt and kit flashback shu told both of them how to beat dP and its weakness, and when his eyes turn red kit though red was back which wasn't it was just shu intimidating side that got out. I kind of miss what the weakness of dP , but from the little I understand shu told then dP can be burst instantly with the armor since the armor is the biggest threat. so you seal dead armor without taking it off and beat with it that's the tactic.
