Well wasn't the Original Layer System like a beta version of the Dual Layer system? I mean it was probably there to test the idea (hence Beta) of the Burst mechanic, right?
So would it not make sense for Hasbro to release a beta version of Beyblade Burst when there is already the official system of Beyblade Burst out?

Takara wouldn't release a beta version to "test" their system. they already knew it worked , and it is no wonder that some people are a little disappointed.

Let's not forget, that Hasbro DID release the original non energy ring beys later on in Metal Fusion. I think it was called legacy or something. They were revised to have energy rings, but hasbro didnt forget about them.

They had Legend before their name like Legend Thunder Libra DF145BS.

Yeah they didn't forget about them. They just released versions of them that worse in both performance and looks. Personally i'd rather get nothing than that.

RE: Beyblade Burst Hasbro topic - Coming to North America August 2016! - Sıon - Jul. 23, 2016

Maybe they will just give them dual layer names, like valor valkyrie, Strike Spriggan, Roaring Ragnaruk, and Killer Kerbeus.

This is just speculation though.

Whoa, I was about to say Hasbro could just rebrand the Original Layers kinda like how they did with Metal Fusion "Legends", but those are pretty cool names to use so as well.

Killer Kerbeus? That's just silly considering that Hasbro has renamed anything with the name 'Killer'... twice (Killer Eagle > Rapid Eagle and Killer Gemios > Evil Gemios). What makes you think they would ever name something with 'Killer'?

Hasbro censorship is really weird, Cancer to Gasher, Hell to Hades, Killer to evil.

What's next? Deathscyther to JustAsleepSword?

Unless they were to aim Burst at an older audience, in stark contrast to what Japan is doing. They did something similar when adapting Engine Sentai Go-Onger to Power Rangers RPM. Light Hearted->A little dark and apocalyptic. Although, with the general way Burst is presented with the Anime coming out, this would be HIGHLY unlikely.

Surprised you find that weird. It's obvious why they would change names that resemble 1) an illness, 2) a religious reference, and 3) actual killing and death.

Won't be surprised if Deathscyther is localized to Darkscyther.

RE: Beyblade Burst Hasbro topic - Coming to North America August 2016! - Kai-V - Jul. 23, 2016

But I am a cancer, and society accepts that being born in July makes me a cancer hah. Brand it as the Horoscope Series like TAKARA-TOMY did and you have no confusion.

But we did get Death Quetz, and I don't know what Dark (in D2) would be replaced with.

Well, let's see in August.

RE: Beyblade Burst Hasbro topic - Coming to North America August 2016! - Jinbee - Jul. 23, 2016

Weird how Death Gargoyle was changed to Dark Gargoyle.

RE: Beyblade Burst Hasbro topic - Coming to North America August 2016! - Yami - Jul. 23, 2016

I'm sure Dark would remain the same since we had Dark Metal Wheel in MFB in Hasbro :V

Cancer is also constellation, should NASA change it to Gasher?

I'm with Hato on this one. we don't really have much to worry about. Even if they do rename it, the only downside would be the anime. It's not like Hasbro can stop people from calling it Deathscyther. Heck, we could call it Dank Deathscyther just to spite them, if we wanted to.

No, but Hasbro might have figured the risk of negative association wasn't worth it.

It's even in the thread's title Wink

But yes, Hasbro will be releasing Burst in North America in August. Mana had said that it will be the second week of August when stores should have them on shelves.

Is August just for Canada? I mean Canada gets all the hasbro stuff before the US

No, not just for Canada. The article says August for North America, so Canada and the US will most likely get them at the same time.

HobbyLink? Wouldn't shipping be extremely slow? I don't think they offer EMS
