We had a couple matches that day where both players did a gentleman's agreement to not use WizRod, and iirc the finals match did so as well since one of the finalists didn't own the blade.

I see.  So they didn’t beat any Rod the whole day? If the winning combos are posted correctly, we know the winner didn’t use rod themselves, but I suppose they may not have played against all those other rods.

I don't know every combo they battled so I can't say for certain, but it's unlikely that they didn't play against any. There was still plenty of WizRod being used, including by myself. I'm only directly aware of the gentleman's agreement in one of my own matches (with another player who did have WizRod), and the one in the finals; I didn't mean to insinuate that anyone may have been getting preferential treatment if it came off that way.

In the OP I just wanted to add some context that we're getting sick of Rod over here, that's all 😅😭

Ah I see.  I guess I got confused.  Just looked like someone didn’t use rod at all and did just fine.  So if they were sick of rod too, they dealt with it, so I thought.

The Breakdown
This tournament came as the big main event of the second day of Beyblade Midwest, but also started about half an hour late due to a rather strong thunderstorm blowing through. The winds were blowing our stadium stands and any loose lightweight items around, most areas under the shelter were still getting a fine mist of water that made many people pack their things away temporarily so they wouldn't get wet, and just in general nobody was willing to play with the winds blowing so strongly. Fortunately it didn't last too long, calming down enough maybe half an hour past our intended start time, and we got going quite quickly once people started unpacking their things again.

Unlike the first day of Beyblade Midwest's unranked Two Person Team X event WizardRod was fully legal and came in droves. The thing was absolutely everywhere, given it was Deck Format to 5 for first stage. I tried my absolute best not to use it myself unless I wasn't confident in winning any other way, and in the end the vast majority of my wins went to the TyrannoBeat combo. I swear, I was absolutely on fire with that thing, and managed to scare off a variety of different PhoenixWing with ease and even chased off WizardRod pretty well. The SharkEdge got a single KO in the semifinals against WizardRod despite it being in my deck for the whole first stage, I just never needed to use it since TyrannoBeat was carrying me so hard and WizardRod covered anything else I wasn't confident in.

Honorable mention to TaxCollector, who definitely had the better balance tuned WizardRod setup but lost in the bronze finals to a random Rod on Rod Xtreme Finish. Definitely not one to underestimate. Also an honorable mention to whomever was running the ShinobiKnife on Low Flat, I don't recall exactly who it was but that combo made me smile.

Mad props to Robotic for making this his first X tournament and taking second place against a number of powerhouses like myself, Mr. Memes, TaxCollector, and cohost JA Industries.For a rookie we're looking at some serious power (or a lot of beginner's luck), and I don't recall anyone else making such good use out of WeissTiger throughout the day.
