Hi guys,

I need some purchase consulations from experienced beyblade users.
I recently got into beyblades here in norway with my love, and we only have the hasbro line. I bought some used blades (around 8-10) and a stadium (Lightning L-Drago Stadium). The newest series here seems to be the Metal Fusion and Metal Masters, I've gotten a hold of a Galaxy Pegasus in a toy store here. But the selection is very poor, can't find most of the blades that are recommended.

My question is: Should I avoid this series and instead go for the 4D from Takara Tomy? I'm no real collector I just think they are fun to play with. And will Hasbro come with a 4D line? Also, please recommend some good 4D blades to use and a stadium (Perhaps bb-107 tt big bang pegasis dx set?).

Yes, Hasbro will probably release 4D blades as they have already announce Beyblade Metal Fury./4D
I think you should get Diablo Nemesis, Big Bang Pegasis(should prob. buy form DX as stated) , Kreis Cygnus, Fang Leone and Jade Jupiter. They have very nice gimmicks which i am fond of. I play for fun as well. And, i don't really like the Metal Masters beyblade, excepet Ray Striker. Which i recommend getting.

I'll look for the Ray Striker. I'm also wondering between the power/quality between the 4D blades and the older ones. Are they viable for compeeting vs eachother or will the 4D shine them out in terms of speed, power and stability?

4D Beyblades have basically outshined every Metal Wheel from pre-4D except for Basalt/"Twisted". However, the pre-4D lineup still has several valuable parts, most notably BD145, CS, etc.

Try to get them from a seller on the WBO, I don't know who, though, because Wide Defense, Dragoon V2, and Galzzly will set you back a bit.

@Lynxxx and Blizzard: Last I checked fusion was getting poor results and SWD was only about as good as WD, while Diablo was getting some of the best results of any wheel for defense. Please, do not recommend poor beyblades here.

For Zombie/LAD, wouldn't Wolborg 4 be decent? It might get good results, and is also quite cheap... :\
But of course, you know more...

Eh, Wolborg 4 is right spin only, so it is only really good at beating the zombies it can OS (most of them, but bunring kerberous' SG gives it hell), if the opponent uses them in left spin. It's primarily a defensive blade.

Still, yes, it is a very good purchase, but he would still need to get tiger defenser, and maybe a 10 balance )or preferably, wide defense)

Hmm.. The thing is I need at least 2-3 good combos. One as my primary combo and one for my sister. My sister will be mad at me if I give her something bad to use for the tourney. Secondly I cant use Driger S or Dragoon V2 because they are the favorites of two of the participants... One is nik1392 and everyone knows the other XD so I wont really like them to stare at it to use their favorites as 'my' beys. I would definitely get Wide defence though (can someone guide me on what its cost would be?). BTW wont weak launching the spiral change base in opposite spin work? And yeah please suggest me those beys with which i can make two good combos. And as th!nk said I am going for a galzzly.

Honestly, stuff what everyone else likes. I'd use Driger V2 against r0ckbull if I thought it would get me anywhere, plus the parts will be in different combinations so whatever Tongue_out

Yeah, you can weak launch it, but the KO-bias of BB-10 makes it much, much riskier no matter what you do. Still a decent buy. If you can't get driger s, get galeon, but galeon seems to be slightly more expensive.
That said, Jan is probably right, Wolborg 4 would be a very helpful bey to have as a defense option, and unless you suspect someone is going to bring one of the absolute best zombies in the game, it should be pretty solid (and even then you might be able to KO them if you wind yer engine gear and rip hard). However, you would *really* want Driger S with it, just for the AR, it's a lot better than War Lion, honestly. Everyone likes driger S, so yeah Confused

Sooo, Your shopping list is: Galzzly, Dragoon V/V2*, Wide Defense, Driger S, Wolborg 4/Dranzer S

(I know you don't want to get V2 but it is a much, much, much, much better beyblade than V, that said you may need to get V on your budget). Also, you may end up swapping weight disks between beys, but if you have a 10 Balance (or 10 wide in the case of Dranzer S but I certainly would suggest wolborg 4 as your main target!!!!), you can get away without swapping. I would swap though.

Wolborg 4 is definitely a safe option for defense, no matter the stadium, pretty much. The LAD (Life After Death) ability of it is quite the cherry on top of the sundae, haha.

Red Gaia Dragoon V (Also, how often do these pop up?)

Oh, also how much is a decent condition Red Gaia Dragoon (the original one) worth. Like, a tiny bit of sticker wear and a couple of small nicks?

Alright thanks for the help..so I'll go for all that you listed and I think I'll take Wolborg 4 in place of Dranzer S... I like Engine Gears XD though I know it(EGs) probably wont help much. As for Dragoons.. I think I'll have to go for V.. If I get Dragoon V2..I'll have only enough money to get a Galzzly.. And can someone please tell me cost of Wide Defense?

The EG can be handy if you need to KO stuff, and it's one of the few EG's that is actually useful (actually, possibly the only one that is truly useful) because of how it charges/spins/protects etc. Wide Defense's price isn't that steady, they go for anywhere from $15-25, usually, I think. A lot for a weight disk, but it is the best/most versatile/useful WD in plastics. You might be able to get by without one, but if there are more tournaments you'll want one eventually anyway, and it's very useful for recoil control/OSing things with that attacker and others on SG Metal Flat 2.

If it fits in the budget, yes, it's a good buy, but it's not hugely important right away, seeing as you probably won't be using a compact *that* much. The HMC might help with the control of SG Metal Flat 2 in that attack combo, as well as the recoil, but if you practice your launch (it's basically all about banking deep on whichever side works, or going for some kind of gatyakki), you should be fine anyway.

The one thing with wolborg 4 is that it is right spin only, and against right spin opponents it does get outspun by a bunch of weird things, but it should take care of almost anything that you can't KO with your attacker. A lot of these combos would probably just KO even a weak launched spiral change base though, and if you get Dranzer S instead, then you lack any real defense against opposing attackers, and SG Metal Flat 2 isn't so great against grip based attack generally.

Actually I wont use a compact at all but since I use Variares, recoil bothers me .. thats the reason I asked... And in the tourney most people wont be having a wolborg bey or even a Bearing bey(unless it pops up in someone's cupboard). And anyways I was planning to use my Dragon breaker(I like it :3) so the attack combo will be my favorite soon enough. Gotta find a seller now... Thanks again Smile.

I'd definitely recommend sticking to an MG Core, the speed is more useful than any slight recoil KO, and this combination doesn't really have that much recoil, at least, not enough to throw it out of the stadium or cause any real difficulties with its attack, though it is a bit like variares in that it likes winning early (though, against (usually lighter) compacts and stuff it can score late-game KO's). It also hits like a wrecking ball. Just remember to put the SAR back into position between each battle, too. Smile

Wolborg 4's issue is with things like lighter compacts in right spin that it can't steal spin from, it'll beat basically anything in left spin other than extremely strong (also expensive) attackers, which I don't think you'll really face. As for lighter compacts you should be able to just clean them up with your attacker anyway.

Vari and Basalt are the better beys. But Phantom and Duo have proven to me to be better than Basalt.
