Random Poke: Weavile (my favorite) or Zoroark
Mega evolution: Salamence
Psuedo legendary: Hydreigon or Goodra

I agree, Mega Charizard Y is better
In gameplay, Y is so much better, but dies to stealth rocks, which literally every competitive player uses
