For example if u have a white reshiram and ur changing it to red Make the white part light red the light grey a little darker red and the dark grey dark red

Neither do I, but if you save the image before you use it, it won't have the black background. I've always used spriters' resource, and I think there were some black borders on my sprite for the spliced sprite fight.
