RE: Beyblade Burst Sparking Episodes #1-2 (April 3, 2020) - Limetka - Apr. 03, 2020
The opening song is FIRE but I don't really like that 90% of the visuals focus on the main characters. It also seems to cover every character that will appear in the season so I don't think they're even going to change it. Thanks god that atleast the ending is.. exactly what I imagined the opening would be, so ED > OP for me on this one.
About the episode: It was so awesome! I was scared Valt was going to whip up both Rantaro and Sisco, and he probably did, but us seeing them lose in the first 5 minutes would be a real mood breaker.
There was also that conversation about clubs with Rantaro, which is some nice worldbuilding. The "Do you have a plan?" "Nope." or the referee guy suddenly appearing was also pretty damn funny.
And Sisco talking about how Hyuga reminded him of younger Valt....I'm screaming like Drum rn lol.
So far I'm absolutely loving it, so let's have a 40 year old valt to celebrate.

Speaking of character development, I hope they do something with Valt. He stood out as kinda a weak link this episode in terms of characterization, doing exactly the same things he has been doing since he had beaten Shu like three years ago. Rantaro and Sisco carried their interactions hard.

These episodes were fantastic, seeing old faces back Is charming. Sisco and Rantaro are epic gamers when separate, but meme legends when they’re together. Valt I agree was fairly disappointing. Once again the cgi isn’t to my liking, it isn’t as bright as season one or two, it’s very dull, until the moment where the bey glows, that was stupendous here. I like Hilary better than Hyuga, I find hyuga to be generic. Hilary better turn out to be Shu-like, using an awful bey in real life and making it good. Also seeing Rantaro do well in a battle is kinda epic. Finally the ED, god is it gorgeous, the returning cast jumping around all colourful, while the new guys have muted colours. Looks stunning, maybe the colours have a meaning, my guess is the legendary bladers are coloured because they’re strong, and they new guys have to get stronger to get the colours. Maybe I’m looking to much into it lol.

Similar to Cho-Z, one of the brothers might turn evil like Aiga and the other will try to restore it and together they will defeat the antagonist.

Kinda wish that beautiful animation in the ending sequence made it's way into the opening in some way, maybe replacing the shot of the Hikaru and Hyuga running. It's a shame to see it semi-wasted in that format.
Love that opening theme as well. Just a shame it only lasts 45 seconds.
Basic start to the season though, as many have said. Good to see some old faces again and the battles had some substance, but the rest was fairly vanilla.

Rantaro and Sisco carried their interactions hard. Alright, so I did some research into the number of characters in each season of burst. In season one of burst we had 19 bladers, in season 2 we had 17 bladers and finally in season 3 we had 17 bladers; 18 including Screw Trident. Now we jump to season 4 (notice this is where the episode time is cut and reduced to 12 minutes) we have a measley 12 bladers. Season 5 continues the 12 minute episode trend, and we have 9 returning legendary bladers if you include Ranjiro, then we have Hyuga and Hikaru the protagonists and finally we have the the “code name L” antagonist for a grand total of 12 currently revealed bladers. Since the episodes are still half size and the last season had 12 bladers you may very well be correct that all the characters currently revealed are all the characters we are going to have for this season-it really wouldn’t be a stretch to assume that. Despite this, I’m just making an educated guess and I could still very well be wrong.

You're implying that there is a statement on this, but there isn't. Just because a lot of fan-favorites are returning doesn't mean that it's 100% confirmed to be the last season. You can't make claims like that. A lot of people were thinking that GT was the final season because no one knew how TT would make a system more refined than GT, but here we are with a system that changes up the customization aspect once again. It is possible that Sparking is the last season of Burst, but we'll never know until we get further on.

It would make sense if Sparking was the last season, but it's one thing to theorize and another to make a claim when the only reasoning is that fan-favorites are coming back. Look at the previous series: the Plastic Gen anime kept the same 4-5 Bladers in the spotlight the whole time. Then, in MFB, 4D/Metal Fusion had several evolutions for some of the main characters' Beys, but then Zero-G/Shogun Steel came out with a completely new Blading cast aside from Gingka and Doji iirc. There still isn't a definitive way to know if a season is the last one unless the system changes the system in a major way.

Also, the moment Brave Valkyrie’s wing compressed inwards to boost its Jet Shoot seemed to be of a rubber or soft plastic design, which might be very cool if it were actually effective in real life.
Also, it is quite interesting to see Valkyrie undergo a design change to Blue Armor.
RE: Beyblade Burst Sparking Episodes #1-2 (April 3, 2020) - Jinbee - Apr. 03, 2020
So these are the first two Beyblade Burst Sparking episodes, and they're...
well... they're okay. I mean it's just your typical Burst intro episodes. Okay there's two of them, so I'm reviewing them both at the same time.
Okay I know there's more than that so let's talk about it. Starting off with Hikaru and Hyuga, I like them so far, Hikaru is a more strategic and calculated guy, he still maintains that excitement for battle, like a lot of main characters should, but he works well with Hyuga, who is a contrast, very goofy and impulsive, at least what I got from him. Hyuga may seem like a typical idiot main character, but for some reason I feel like it's done a little differently, he's a bit more hasty than the others so far. I like that they're brothers too, and I hope we see them argue or something, create some really tense moments.
There's also three friends of the main two, but they're no doubt just the useless cheerleader characters and I really don't care for them. The blonde kid really freaks me out too, his design is really creepy in my opinion.
So the two get up to watch a match between Valt, Sisco and Rantaro, to introduce their new shiny Sparking beys. Personally I wish we had a bit more time to know what they got up to during their absence but hey, we gotta advertise the toys immediately. Plus I guess we may learn in the future. Anyway the battle between the three are pretty good, nothing too special but it's just nice to see them again. And I see Satan indeed has a new driver, thank you! So glad it wasn't Yr'.
The two main characters are inspired to create their own Sparking beys and to carry on from the laughably dumb way Valt created God Valkyrie, the two have a dream about them, and had the perfect details right away. I guess I'm not expecting too much at this point, this is your usual Burst fare.
The two test out their beyblades, but at first when looking at the trailer, I thought the red Ashura belonged to Hyuga and the blue Joker belonged to Hikaru, of course, I know it makes no sense how the two would battle each others predecessors if they had new ones, but the red and blue colours of the generic beys corresponding to their primary colours so hey, could you blame me? And sadly yeah, GT beys are now just fodder, but then again this trend started since God so whatever.
The two meet the three veterans in the stadiums training centre, wanting to challenge them. Valt fights against them, one at a time. The first one is against Hyuga who got hilariously one shotted. When I saw Hyuga's reaction, I thought it would be the typical "He looks down seemingly sadly but reveals he's happy because he loves battling", but no, he actually gets frustrated which I like. Hikaru challenges Valt and it's clear Hikaru has more skills then Hyuga as he holds his own better than him, but despite doing pretty well, Valt beats him with his special move. It should be noted that Valkyrie has a rubber bound gimmick from what I can tell, the bound gimmick using the rubber to work, akin to Screw Trident. The two get tired and run into the ocean and do a jump in the air freeze frame, seemingly excited.
By the way, am I the only one who finds it hilarious that Valt once again has an unworn Evolution driver? Yeah I know it's a tighter driver, but it's pretty funny to think that Valt now has to restart haha.
So yeah, these two episodes were just average, they were an okay introduction to Sparking but even with two episodes to make a full episode, we don't really learn a lot about the new main characters so far and it feels rushed in a lot of places, favouring showing the awesome new beys over giving time for the characters. Yes, I know Beyblade is a toy commercial, but having scenes show the characters themselves more would be nice, but I guess we can expect that later, hopefully.
EDIT: Oh right, yeah, I forgot to talk about the new intro. It's alright, but it feels kinda forgettable and quieter. However, I also didn't have a first good impression of GT's intro but loved it later on so maybe it just needs time to grow on me.

I agree the short guy is creepy. He is no doubt the child of Rantaro and that Richard kid from burst God.

Spoiler I don’t know why everybody feels like Hyuga gonna get evil like Aiga. I don’t think anybody will, and the fact that one of the main reasons Cho z was disliked was because the evil Aiga plot armor, which they will for sure do if he is evil, as we only have 11 min episodes, not enough for character development. Loved the Op and ED. They were both great, and in the ending, in my opinion Hyuga seems more of a main character. In the the op, looks as Hyuga and Hikaru are fighting 2 evil blades. Might be thinking too deep but that Gyro L might not even be the main antagonist, maybe we are being shown it to throw us off. And in the opening, we can see hyguga and Hikaru have the same type of renasance to their blade like Lui, Aiga, and Drum. As their hair sets in fire or have a change when they are going full power. Most likely I’m hoping so, every other Beyblade had a final boss who is threatening to destroy the world, would it be too far fetched to think that’ll happen now since it’s the last season?

If they do turn evil they could just not have plot armor tho. Like an evil evolution that’s strong, but not invincible like Spriggan Requiem
