Now the UK has people with it too, ugh...

I wished there was a way to at least prevent you from getting it if you haven already, as of the time I heard of Ebola, I never shake hands with anybody, as that's how effective Ebola is.

As insensitive as that sounds, I'm not risking it. I thought Ebola was like the swine flu where it was a lie but it wasn't.

I'm really happy I'm reclusive. Noooooo Ebola for me, hahahaha. XD

But seriously, it is going to get worse of what I heard. Yep, it's on its way to UK.

Darn you immortal being!!!

I have heard the UK already had some, I hope not, but why??? I really wish it didn't have to get worse, on the possible plus side, I have heard alcohol and tobacco could be possible cures, don't quote me on that though.

Well as long as it doesn't come to NC.

I might let you drink my blood to keep you pure.

Really? I heard it's making its debut sometime around Oct. 24. I have a huuuuge convention to go to the 25th so I'm scared about that.

If that's true, you're still giving up your life in some sort of way. You could end up with lunge Cancer ect.

You don't need to. Just make sure you wash your hands as often as possible and be careful that you don't touch your mouth or nose when you're at public places, then your chance of getting ebola is as good as zero.

Don't let the media scare you. They are making people panic more than neccesary on purpose. If you want to talk to somebody, who has quite some medical knowledge, shoot Captain a pm. He's studying medicine at university and I'm positive he can explain well to you, why you really don't have to be scared.

Damn! Are you really immune though?

Ebola? More like Ebulls- Nevermind...

Also for having 100% school attendance like a swat, I get an award, I bet it's just a piece of paper or a box of crayons but they sent me to a weird location to collect my award... god I hope it's 100 quid!!! Nah that's wishful thinking, probably another piece of paper.

Ebola only transfers through bodily fluids so just made sure to wash your hands often like Stoney said. Maybe even carry a small bottle of Germ-X. If you know you're going to be in a place with a lot of people, wear a surgical mask if you're that scared of it, but that's a little extreme (Totally acceptable in an airport though)

That...kinda makes me feel better, I mean it, thanks dude! Smile

I wash my hands constantly but it's mainly my OCD ha!

RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - 6 God - Oct. 14, 2014

Yeah defenitely in an airport or airplane(Where the air is recirculated roughoit the entire plain Tongue_out_wink).

But the people researching it said there was 0% of a contagion from the dude who caught ebola.

RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - OwnageDerp - Oct. 15, 2014

Ebola Ebola Ebola Ebola Ebola Ebola Ebola Ebola Ebola Ebola Ebola Ebola Ebola Ebola. It's all I hear about, it's seriously pissing me off, this is just like the AIDS outbreak of the 80s. Another apocalypse is on the way, stop worrying. Get your Ebola kits, while you can.

RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - 6 God - Oct. 15, 2014

Yeah because hearing about something that can be potentionally life altering is so anger enducing...

I think he means because of the unnecessary amount it's been overblown by the media. Unless you roll in feces or are a vampire and drink people's blood, you really should be fine. Wash your hands, be a bit cautious, and you should be good.

Ebola spreads through eating contaminated meat and through body fluids, as you said. Unless someone sneezes in your mouth, a mask won't help at all.

Antimicrobial stuff like hand sanitizers should work pretty well though.

Well, it is possible that you can catch Ebola without having direct contact with someone who is infected... This doesn't count as being airborne, but it is still scary nonetheless.

I was mad at the time about Ebola, because of how retarded people are at my school. Example:
Me: Could you pick up my paper?
Retard: Naw dawg, you problee gots Ebola bruh.
Me: *rolls eyes*

There's many more excuses that revolve around it, but I forgot some. (Some were funny)

RE: Random Thoughts 5 - READ RULES IN FIRST POST - Phantom Indo - Oct. 15, 2014

The main reason they're pushing the Ebola agenda is because if it successfully breaks out in an epidemic, then the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA will be disbanded and the so-called U.S. military will be owned and controlled by the UNITED NATIONS. When that happens, our way of life will change into a more dystopian future. It will be unlike anything anyone here has ever seen. 100% Guarantee.

Stay calm, stay healthy, & stay alert with your mind and eyes wide-open.

I think this is a pretty good example of how people seem to be throwing their brains by the wayside over the whole Ebola thing Tongue_out

That or the crazies show up more when there's something to panic about, idk.

After reading through the article, it appears that it may be possible to transfer Ebola through sneezing:
Report Wrote:Under conditions of the current study, transmission of ZEBOV could have occurred either by inhalation (of aerosol or larger droplets), and/or droplet inoculation of eyes and mucosal surfaces and/or by fomites due to droplets generated during the cleaning of the room. Infection of all four macaques in an environment, preventing direct contact between the two species and between the macaques themselves, supports the concept of airborne transmission.

However, the test also notes that the cleaning procedures performed may have caused cross-contamination between the infected and uninfected specimens. TBH it would make sense if sneezes could transfer it, as saliva and mucus can.

You think that's something stupid? Someone stuck a tomato slice high on the locker room wall last Friday, and we we kept calling it concentrated/evolved Ebola. It finally fell of today.

Last week, someone said that they'd rather have the disease than be friends with someone.

That's exponential growth for you; in 2 months of unchecked growth, a disease or anything else that spreads can grow completely out of control. The issue is less with "omg ebola is unstoppable it's the apocalypse" and more with "we aren't sending enough supplies to the people who need them." The rest of the article describes an acute shortage of equipment in the affected countries, which is the main reason for the dire prediction; with little to no response an epidemic will get completely out of control, but if it can be capped off early it's actually pretty easy to handle.

I'll take that as offensively rude.
I have to agree that I spoke too harshly there. That was unnecessarily insulting of me, and I apologize.

(Oct. 15, 2014  6:17 AM)BBXcessive Wrote: Have you done any research?
...
READ AND EDUCATE YOURSELF BEFORE YOU TYPE ANOTHER WORD.
Done that.

Guess what?

The UN can't actually "disband" countries. It can impose sanctions and even make military actions against them, if necessary, but it can't decide to suddenly "disband" a country, particularly the US. I'm not some sheltered, patriotic idiot that overvalues his country - it's simply because the US is such a huge part of the UN to begin with. 29% of the UN's military funding and 22% of its overall budget comes from the US - over twice that of the second-highest contributor. The UN headquarters is in New York, the US has a permanent seat on the Security Council, and the current Security Council President is an American. For the UN to take such a severe action against the US would be beyond shooting itself in the foot - it would pretty well mutilate its structure.

(Oct. 15, 2014  6:17 AM)BBXcessive Wrote: The point is IF it breaks out, or even if it doesn't but the United Nations "says" it breaks out, they take all lawful control over the United States.
So you are implying that, if a conspiracy within the UN plots to shut down the US by claiming there is an Ebola outbreak rampant throughout the nation even if no evidence for such an outbreak exists and the "outbreak" is simply a fabrication of said conspiracy, then the UN can suddenly start yanking its own leading member country and the source of a quarter of its resources around? To pass that kind of an action would require a huge majority of countries within the UN to be opposed to the US and allies (many of which also hold high positions within the UN and have a lot of pull themselves) and overcome their votes by a significant margin. In addition, since the UN doesn't have that kind of power in the first place, it's going to require an even more implausible amount of legal and military work to pull off such a scheme. For all intents and purposes, even a well-coordinated widespread conspiracy to take over the US through UN power is impossible.

(Oct. 15, 2014  6:17 AM)BBXcessive Wrote: I hope you know that under these specific circumstances, a UNITED NATIONS MILITARY COMMANDER can join a U.S. military operation and take command instantly. Do you have any clue what that inclines?
Researching this bit led me to a lot of not particularly trustworthy conspiracy blogs, and no real evidence indicating that this is even remotely true.

Unless you are saying that this applies only under the previous UN-takes-over-the-US scenario which I just covered, this statement doesn't hold water either. If the UN plans on messing with a US operation, they won't - and can't - simply redirect the whole thing. If the US is doing something the UN doesn't like, the UN will publicly call out the US first, demanding change, then impose sanctions, then possibly act through military means.

(Oct. 15, 2014  6:17 AM)BBXcessive Wrote: End the "ignorance plea" please. You kids are above that.
I'm not pleading ignorance. I'm pointing out that reality is a lot different from what you think it is.

(Oct. 15, 2014  6:17 AM)BBXcessive Wrote: THE UNITED STATES WILL CEASE TO BE IF UNITED NATIONS SAYS SO.
BASIC AND SIMPLE. THAT IS WHAT WILL HAPPEN, EVEN IF THIS EBOLA BREAKS OUT OR NOT.
The UN has no pre-existing functions to enact such a thing, it has no reason to do so, it has very little actual power to attack its own member countries, since a great deal of its strength comes through cooperation, and it would be committing suicide if it tried to attack a good chunk of itself.
