So many characters got development and growth through definite character arcs. From the main to the side characters. Adding to that they built upon the good character work in season 1 on to season 2 and then brought in new characters and developed them and gave them definite arcs. Such good stuff. Well, 2 seasons aren’t the entire show. Your words suggest that you’re talking about the series as a whole in which case character handling is overall bad. Well I can't deny that's true of the later seasons of Burst, they don't measure up to those first two, but let's examine the character work of the first two seasons in comparison to metal fight. Now it's been awhile but I don't remember metal fusion doing much in the way of definite arcs for most of the cast. Same with Metal Fury and I don't think Shogun Steel did so either so when compared pound for pound, those first two seasons of burst put it over metal fight when it comes to the character work. Its popularity was MUCH BIGGER then burst;s. Metal Fusion kind of had character arcs although it was very small as first seasons of shounen tend to be. RE: Burst Anime vrs Metal Saga Anime vrs Og Saga Anime (no arguing just opinions) - EarthHelios - Dec. 15, 2020 Best battles imo: Kai vs. Tyson Kai vs. Brooklyn Tala vs. Garland Gingka vs. Ryuga Sakyo vs. Zyro Shu vs. Valt Dante vs. Gwyn RE: Burst Anime vrs Metal Saga Anime vrs Og Saga Anime (no arguing just opinions) - Admiral W - Dec. 15, 2020 (Dec. 15, 2020 4:31 PM)6Jupiter5 Wrote:(Dec. 15, 2020 4:23 PM)Admiral W Wrote: Well I can't deny that's true of the later seasons of Burst, they don't measure up to those first two, but let's examine the character work of the first two seasons in comparison to metal fight. Tsubasa learn to embrace his demons in masters. Masamune learns that that his actions have consequences in masters and that you don’t have to be chosen in order to be strong in fury. Zeo learns that he can’t place all the blame onto others, and he also learns the value of friendship in masters. Yuu learns to listen to his bey and that beys have a true bond. Ryuga learns sacrifice for the greater good in fury. Dynamis learns that everything doesn’t always go through a divine plan. Kyoya also develops in that he becomes more caring for others. Yuki becomes stronger and learns more about the bladers spirit. These are just some that I can name off the top of my head. He went from a weakling to a legendary blader. Tsusbasa became one with the dark power. Same with all the things you said. Metal Fury and Metal masters did have character development. MFB also had a very awesome plot. It enchirched the plot so well, that I became obessed with beyblades RE: Burst Anime vrs Metal Saga Anime vrs Og Saga Anime (no arguing just opinions) - EarthHelios - Dec. 15, 2020 I gag when I think of a villain turning good RE: Burst Anime vrs Metal Saga Anime vrs Og Saga Anime (no arguing just opinions) - 6Jupiter5 - Dec. 15, 2020 (Dec. 15, 2020 4:59 PM)EarthHelios Wrote: I gag when I think of a villain turning good Sometimes those are the most heartbreaking moments as whenever a villain turns over they usually die. Kenta's development I do remember. That was well done. Most of the development happened in masters. In fury it seemed to me that just Kenta and Ryuga had definite arcs. Not most of the cast. Though some work was mined out of Masmune. I know the majority of his growth was in Masters. So the the seasons with the most growth in MFB was in masters and fury and most of fury's cast it seems didn't have definite arcs. There’s only so much to do in 51 episodes hence why main cast characters have mini arcs which is like 1-3 episodes dedicated to them. Burst has a much much smaller cast which is why there’s a little bit more character development, but mfb has way more character development then you give it credit for. The amount of main cast members between Burst and MFB aren't too dissimilar. Yet in burst those mains and many of the side characters have definite arcs across the seasons they feature in. Even in burst's later seasons which I don't altogether credit with doing much with their characters, do have some characters arcs featured in them. One that comes to mind is Delta though I do feel his arc was rushed. RE: Burst Anime vrs Metal Saga Anime vrs Og Saga Anime (no arguing just opinions) - EarthHelios - Dec. 15, 2020 I dont think its the cast thats the problem I think its the idea of how the arcs are gonna play out that is kinda the problem for burst RE: Burst Anime vrs Metal Saga Anime vrs Og Saga Anime (no arguing just opinions) - Admiral W - Dec. 15, 2020 (Dec. 15, 2020 5:27 PM)EarthHelios Wrote: I dont think its the cast thats the problem I think its the idea of how the arcs are gonna play out that is kinda the problem for burst The arcs played out wonderfully in those first two seasons. The later ones unfortunately weren't great but they did have one or two in those later seasons that weren't bad. RE: Burst Anime vrs Metal Saga Anime vrs Og Saga Anime (no arguing just opinions) - EarthHelios - Dec. 15, 2020 I mean they arent bad its just maybe the writers are running out of ideas. I kinda like some arcs in Turbo and in Rise. Surge is like meh right now RE: Burst Anime vrs Metal Saga Anime vrs Og Saga Anime (no arguing just opinions) - 6Jupiter5 - Dec. 15, 2020 (Dec. 15, 2020 5:26 PM)Admiral W Wrote:(Dec. 15, 2020 5:19 PM)6Jupiter5 Wrote: There’s only so much to do in 51 episodes hence why main cast characters have mini arcs which is like 1-3 episodes dedicated to them. I just gave you a whole list of characters that developed. What happened to that is that just not valid? The truth is that the statistics show that MFB was simply more popular than burst and I think there’s a reason for that. |
