Why are you shooting up your Pokemon's level so high up even before the second gym?
There's no challenge in challenging the gym leader if you do that.

Thats what I usually do... I've beaten Bugsy (2nd Gym Leader) I just need a Paras to learn cut so i can get to the next town... but all im seeing now is Weedle and kakunas
so annoying. lmaoEDIT: I only have 4 pokemon in my team (Quilava, Togepi, Onix and Flaaffy level'd between 15-17)

If I catch a Rattata im more likely to call it Tara. LOL
But yeah if i cant find a Paras.. then i'll catch a Rattata or Sentret... because i already have a normal type pokemon in my team.. and i try and keep my team balanced.

I normally catch Rattata/Zigzagoon/Bidoof or their evolved forms to let them learn HM moves and a extra random flying type for Fly. I don't keep HM users in my team other than Surf since it's such a great move.

I evolved my starter before the first gym, and by the time I battle Fawkner it was around level 20. Makes things easier.

Pokemon is too easy as it is. Wish there was a way to change the difficulty setting.

Yeah well, I'm basically finished, except I can't catch Rayquaza yet, I need Groudon which you can only get in SS, once you get Groudon from SS and trade it to HG (HG you can get Kyogre) you can battle Rayquaza.

I just hope I have a fire type for my battle against Pryce but I might choose Cindyquil because all of my starters (except in Emerald and Leaf Green) were fire types. I've had Blaziken in Sapphire, Infernape in Diamond, and this is where it gets random Infernape, but my best bet is to stick with a water type and plus totodile is awesome.

Got stuck in the gym where you battle the fighting pokemons. i was able to beat all but the last water type one.. i chose totodile as a starter btw.
oh, and where do i get fly?

If you're talking about Chuck (who's got a Poliwrath) then you get fly as soon as you beat him and talk to his wife.

i have: pigeoto/ the last evolution of totodile/ nidorino/ sodowodoo/ togipi.
all are around 25, while the second one is about 35.

Having different Pokemon would probably be a big help :\
You really need a psychic type more than anything else, or at least another type of Pokemon that you've taught a Psychic type TM to.

Im leveling up my Ditto so when i verse chuck i can use Poliwraths moves.
I Have Ditto, Quilava, Onix, Paras, Flaaffy and Togepi in my team so far.

Pegasis, level your Pidgeotto to a Pidgeot. I beat the whole gym with just Pidgeot. After you beat him, just walk around into all the houses talk to everyone, one of them will give you fly.

You'd be better off to just keep leveling Pidgeotto, and NOT let it evolve to Pidgeot since it'll learn moves faster.
I tend not to let a Pokemon evolve out of its first stage until it's at around level 70.

That's not very smart, as they will still eventually learn the important moves if you evolve them. And if you evolve them, they're stats are much much better.
