How do people eat this garbage?

I just made an italian grilled cheese with basil and sea salt. <3

I love cooking but its something I rarely get the chance to spend time on, so I mainly just whip up things that are quick and cheap. Although I do bak cakes quite a bit. Most of my friends can guarantee that they will get a freshly baked cake from me for their birthday, also I make the best chocolate brownies.

I can't tell if this is being sarcastic or not....

RE: Cooking - Bey Brad - Oct. 29, 2007

I'm not. I wish I had friends who baked me cakes.

RE: Cooking - mamph - Oct. 29, 2007

Lol. I'm usually rubbish at thinking of good presents so I bake cakes instead, for instance I made a freinds a completely green cake one year because its her favourite colour.

RE: Cooking - Bey Brad - Oct. 29, 2007

That's really sweet. Smile I want to try "black pepper cake". Grin

RE: Cooking - Nic - Nov. 02, 2007

Hmm. I do pasta, shepard's pie, and um, instant noodles. Can't do anything harder than that. Oh, I can barbecue but that doesn't count, does it?

I'm obsessive about cheese and all manner of herbs and spices and stuff. Except chili and curry. Almost any pasta I cook ends up being about 50% herbs and 50% cheese, with trace amounts of anything else.

I love food. Does that count? I make lasanga that tastes awesome and i just got my certification for cooking in a kitchen. Joyful_3 now I just need to learn how to cook more stuff.

Pastrami, swiss cheese and mustard on marble rye with homemade chips.

RE: Cooking - sam's temp - Nov. 12, 2007

Bah I wish I had more time to cook these days.

Now all I make/eat are microwaved chimichangas.

RE: Cooking - Alice - Nov. 19, 2007

As part of my new ~I'm gonna make it on my own but blatantly fail~ attitude, I'm going to buy two cookbooks (a vegetarian one for my boyfriend and one for normal people) and start learning to cook some fancy foods!

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should start with? I don't want anything too difficult at first.

It depends on your definition of difficult. http://www.tlc.com/chef has some decent recipes at moderate difficulty levels.

I can steam rice, and boil water for pot noodles.
The part that really sucks I've been on at my mum to teach me how to clean the house/cook food/wach clothes/etc for years. I mean since I was a teenager.
Now when I carp things up she looks at me like I just dropped out of rhino's carp, like she actually has a reason to be surprised.

Learn yourself. It's not hard, watch some cooking shows, and follow recipes EXACTLY. It takes practice, but I taught myself (out of necessity).
