RE: Beyblade Burst: Sisu - SpeedySuomi - Dec. 01, 2021 Chapter 5: Worthiness Spoiler (Click to View) Akio: Gladius Brunhilde? Beniko: Yeah! If Valt Aoi owns Valkyrie, then I'll be taking that name and... She'd triumphantly show it to Akio. Beniko: Leave my mark in the Blading world! Akio stared at her silently with a blank expression on his face, and so did Takeru. What's up with this tense mood...? Akio suddenly burst out into laughter, while Takeru was secretly chuckling in his seat. Beniko: Hey, what's funny?! Akio bent down from laughing too hard. Akio (laughing): Nothing it's just... Akio pointed at her while laughing loudly. Akio: You're like a kid, Haruna-san! Beniko: Huh? I'm not a kid, I'm already 15! Beniko gritted her teeth and her eyebrows furrowed as she was angry. Akio: But you act like one though! Beniko gritted her teeth and her eyebrows furrowed, angry. Beniko: Shut up! Beniko hit Akio's head while he bent down laughing, causing him to fall down. Akio: Ow! Calm down, it's a joke! Beniko: Hmph, Venni would still approve of this even if he didn't like Blading. Akio got up and stretched his neck. Akio: Hey, we didn't say that we wouldn't approve of your dream. We were just screwing around. Beniko: I'll forgive you, for now. Beniko looked away and pouted. Beniko: So, uh... what do we do now? Akio scratched his head and grabbed something from his table. Akio: How about a little testing? Akio showed his Bey to her. So that's his Bey? Did he base it off of Judgement Joker? Beniko: Oh, so you own a Balance-type? Akio: Yeah, no. It's an Attack-type, how'd you come to that conclusion? Ah, it's an Attack-type! So we've got ourselves a full-on battle then! Beniko: Just thought that it looked like Judgement Joker with a bit of Longinus on it. Akio: Yep, I did base it off of that clown's Bey as well as Zwei. That Trick driver looked like it'd be a doozy to work with, so I just went along with an L2F tip. Beniko: Heh, I don't know how that guy was able to control a Bey like that. Now with that out of the way, let's do this! Takeru: Oh, Haruna-san. Y-your launcher's here too, I did a couple of changes to it. Takeru gave Beniko's launcher back to her. And had a bunch of changes added to it, most notably a huge change on the body. This is... new. The grip's got rubber grips, just the way I like it but, there's this circular monitor on the center and I don't know what this is. Doesn't matter anyway, this launcher is still a launcher at the end of the day! Akio saw the launcher and looked interested. Akio: Takeru, you added a tachometer to it? Takeru: I did a large overhaul, it was way beyond repair so I added my own touches to it. Beniko: Really? Why didn't you tell me that earlier? Akio: Well, I didn't check the insides and thought the body was the only issue. I also left Takeru with launcher duty, so yeah, there. A tachometer? I'm not entirely sure what that is, but this might be fun. Akio: Now then, come at me! Beniko: Yeah! The two got into position and Takeru began counting down from his seat. Takeru: Three, two, one... (In unison): Go shoot! Both Bladers launch with great force, and Beniko launched at around 1900RPM, catching her off-guard with how powerful her launch had become. Holy! That's strong! His own 'touches' actually made this thing way stronger than it should've been! Beniko: Wah! Beniko stumbled, but Brunhilde landed fine nonetheless. Brunhilde... amazing! Akio: Oi, Beniko! You good? Beniko: I'm not feeling just good, I'm feeling absolutely great! Thanks, Akio! Akio: Heh, no problem. But you better watch out, 'cause I'm coming after ya'! Beniko stood back up and began commanding Brunhilde. Beniko: Alright Brunhilde, beat em' up! Akio: Go wild, Amarok! The two clash against each other in the center, and with each hit, Amarok easily overpowers Brunhilde. Not only is this guy good at making Beys, but he's strong! Perfect for Brunhilde's debut. Brunhilde lands softly and tilts as it does, allowing it to aim for Amarok's disc. Beniko: Get him from down under, Brunhilde! Amarok charged towards Brunhilde, and Brunhilde successfully hits Amarok's disc, lifting it off the ground with great force and onto the wall. Gah, so close! Akio: Woo! That's freakin' strong! But we aren't giving up yet! Amarok regains its balance and moves back into the stadium instantly, with twice the speed. He's faster now? Beniko: Brunhilde, watch out! Beniko commanded the now vulnerable Brunhilde, but to no avail, as Amarok was already there lying in wait. Akio: It's over! Both of Amarok's blades were surrounded by a golden-orange light. Akio: Wraith Execution! Amarok blasted through Brunhilde with ease, Bursting it while also creating large gusts of wind around the area. Beniko: No, Brunhilde! Takeru: Akio! How did you- As the wind disappeared, Brunhilde's parts fell on the stadium floor. He Bursted my Bey, just like that? ... Beniko stood silent, gazing at the parts of her Bey which were scattered across the stadium. Akio: Haha! That battle with Takeru really warmed me up! Takeru: What?! A warm-up? Akio: Uh, yeah? Amarok was still fresh out of the gate when you fought me, and it's been years since I've had a real fight. Takeru: Are you serious...? Akio: You won, no? While both of them talked with each other, Akio noticed Beniko who was staring at her Bey. Akio: Hey, are you fine? Beniko chuckled and grinned looking down. She then looked at Akio with a wide smile. Beniko: I'm still fine! Let's do it again! Akio: Heh, now that's the spirit. Akio got into position again, and so did Beniko. Akio: Takeru! We're doing this again, count down. Takeru: Ah, y-yeah! Three, two, one... (In unison): Go shoot! Beniko launched like she did earlier and got a bit more control over her stance. That's better! Brunhilde and Amarok landed on the stadium and the two went around the stadium quickly. Beniko: I'll beat you this time! Akio: As if! The two found enough momentum for strong attacks and Amarok charged towards Brunhilde, but Brunhilde would evade its attack. Akio: So you're trying to dodge me? Nice plan, but you're still not getting away from my fangs! Beniko: You ain't catching up with Brunhilde as well! Amarok got onto the banking just behind Brunhilde and caught up with it. It's gonna be risky, but I'll need to dodge until his stamina weakens. Amarok attempts to hit Brunhilde, but it'd turn slightly to the left, barely dodging Amarok and letting it scrape against the wall for a moment. Akio: Again! Amarok went after Brunhilde again, and again, and again, albeit to no avail. With its next move, it wobbled around. Akio: Tch, I'm a fool. Beniko: Now, you're done for Akio! Amarok and Brunhilde went toward the center quickly, with Amarok being unstable. This is it! My chance! Beniko: Brunhilde! Brunhilde sped up as it charged towards Amarok. Beniko: Gladius Slash! Brunhilde collided with Amarok, however, Amarok merely evaded her oncoming attack. Akio: Alright, got em'! Brunhilde went straight for the wall and so did Amarok. No good, the wall is in front of her! But Amarok is close as well, so I'll need to hope that all my stamina doesn't die out! Both of them were barreling towards the walls, and Amarok would hit it first. He went out first! Let's go! Akio: Just what I needed! Beniko: Huh? The rubber on it would compress as it hit the wall, causing it to bounce back and get shot towards Brunhilde. That rubber on it, I forgot! Akio: Bullet Claw! Brunhilde crashed it into the wall then Amarok crashed into it, pushing more force onto it causing it to Burst again. I'm not done yet, this is just the second battle! Beniko: One more time! Akio: Again? I have a feeling that this is gonna take forever. Beniko: What, are you gonna give up now? Akio chuckled. Akio: Hmph, hell no. I could do this all day! Takeru: We're doing this again? (In unison): Of course! Takeru sighed. Takeru: Alright, have it your way. Three, two, one... (In unison): Go shoot! The two battled with each other many times, and all of the battles they had resulted in either a knockout or a Burst from Akio. This didn't stop Beniko from trying to win against him though and still remained strong. Beniko (breathing heavily): Hah... one more! Akio (breathing heavily): You're still not giving up? Beniko: No, I'm not getting out of here... An aura surrounds Beniko. Beniko: Until I beat you! Concerned, Takeru went to Beniko. Takeru: H-hey, I think you should rest- Beniko cuts off Takeru by pushing him away. Beniko: No! I'm not done yet! Akio: I'll let you do this, one more time. I have to take care of the shop. If the shop's important to him then let's make this last one count. Akio: I suppose you're getting really serious now. Beniko: If this is gonna be the last battle for today, of course I'd be! Takeru: Alright, this is the last battle... three, two, one. (In unison): Go shoot! The two Bladers launch with all their strength, and the two landed smoothly without losing any speed or stamina whatsoever. Beniko: Go, Brunhilde! Brunhilde gained momentum on the banking and suddenly accelerated, leaving behind a golden trail as it did. Akio: Amarok, the wall! Amarok charged for the wall. He's going for Bullet Claw! Akio: Sharpen your fangs! Amarok's rubber blades grinded against the wall, building heat and energy within its blades. He's not? So I'll need to watch out for his damn attacks. They're such a pain to deal with! Amarok bounced off the next time its blades hit the wall, allowing it to charge towards Brunhilde with more force. Beniko: Watch it, partner! The two of them crash against each other, sending hits repeatedly in rapid succession. Brunhilde took a wider turn and this allowed it to gain more momentum for its next attack. It lands the hit and makes Amarok vulnerable for a moment. My turn, I'll need to be careful with this! Brunhilde sent a barrage of powerful attacks to Amarok, weakening its stamina over time. Akio: Get out of there! Jolt Leap! The rubber spikes on its driver would come into contact with the floor, allowing it to slip past Brunhilde's mad flurry of attacks and run for the banking. Beniko: Brunhilde, go after him! Brunhilde circles around the center in order to gain momentum before catching up to Amarok, and they'd race across the stadium. He's gonna race around to gain momentum, as you did last time! Brunhilde caught up with Amarok but, Amarok stopped dead in its tracks. Setting Brunhilde off-balance and making it incredibly vulnerable. He brake-checked me! Brunhilde, stand up! Akio: Gotcha, Haruna-san! Beniko: Damn it, don't stop Brunhilde! Amarok turned to the left and went back to Brunhilde with more speed. Not again, not again! Akio: Sorry Haruna, but it's over! Amarok tilts and hits Brunhilde from underneath. Akio: Wraith Claw! It's not over yet... I'm not done... Brunhilde was lifted into the air with great force, and it seemed like a certain victory for Amarok. I'm not losing again, after all those battles! Brunhilde's disc moved and lined up with the sword, causing them to synergize. Beniko: Brunhilde! A golden aura surrounded Brunhilde as it fell down to the stadium. Akio: What? It didn't get knocked out?! Brunhilde fell onto Amarok's side with great force, causing it to be lifted off into the air. Beniko: Gladius Impact! Amarok flew off outside. But soon after, Brunhilde Bursted because it didn't hit Amarok head-on. No... no, no, no! Beniko breathed heavily and fell on her knees. Beniko (screaming): Sh*t! The room went silent, and Akio fixed up her Bey. Akio: Look, calm down alright? Akio passed Brunhilde back to Beniko, which she took with less enthusiasm. I'm still not strong... Beniko gazed at Brunhilde, sitting down. Beniko (sighing): It wasn't your fault, Brunhilde. Akio extended his hand to Beniko. Akio: Wel, look on the bright side. You knocked me off the stadium in the last round. Beniko: I'll still need more power if I wanna be worthy of using this Bey but, yeah. Those few seconds of victory were satisfying. Beniko takes his hand and stands up. Akio: I think you need a bit of rest. Akio wiped off the sweat on his forehead. Akio: You look really tired. Takeru: Mhm, I think both of you had like, fifty battles? It was that many?! Beniko: That's a lot... yeah, I think I need to rest. Beniko walked for the door and looked back at the two. Beniko: I guess I'll see you next time. Akio: Yeah, you too! Takeru nodded and raised a hand to wave goodbye. 50 losses in a row, but... Brunhilde? You're really powerful, Brunhilde! Beniko smiled at her Bey as she left, and despite the sheer amount of losses she had, she still felt satisfied with her Bey being there. Sorry for being a bad owner, Brunhilde. [An hour later, in the Haruna Residence] Home, at last. Beniko: I'm home! She entered the house and took off her shoes. Beniko! You're here! How was your day? Her mother hugged her tightly, and both of them were smiling. Yo, Beniko! You've been out for too long, what happened? A green-haired girl was standing in the corridor. Beniko: Yeah Kyouka-san, sorry. My Bey took a while to make and I had a bunch of battles with the guy who made it. Kyouka's here, as always. Kyouka: 'Made'? Not fixed? Beniko: Mhm, it's a new Bey. She showed it to her with a bit of enthusiasm. Beniko: This is Gladus Brunhilde! The two of them looked at it and were impressed. Yuka: Oh! It looks nice, doesn't it? Beniko: Yeah! All thanks to Venni's cousin! Yuka: Venni? He's here? Beniko: Mhm, he ran away when I saw him though, I don't know why. Kyouka looked at it up close, surprising Beniko. Ah! Where did you come from? Kyouka (prolonged): Ohh... so it's a one-sided Attack-type? Beniko: Mhm! I don't really wanna get into detail though, I'm kind of tired. Kyouka: I see, then take your time to rest. Kyouka gave Beniko a small smile. Kyouka: ...Because I'm gonna beat you later. Beniko: As I said, I'm not in the mood to fight now. Beniko yawned and rubbed her eyes. Beniko: So, yeah... sorry. Kyouka: Well, I wouldn't really mind. Rest well! Beniko went to her room and changed her clothes to a more casual set of clothes. Blue boxer shorts and a white, baggy shirt. Ahhh! Sleeping feels really good when you're tired, now to shut down my brain and... Beniko drifted off into unconsciousness with a smile. Her Bey was on the desk and produced an aura. ... ... Hmm...? Beniko suddenly woke up in a black void, standing on a large white platform. Wait, where am I? What is this? So you're awake? There was a female knight standing in front of her, she had golden hair and blue armor as well as a sword. Beniko; Hey, who are you?! Who am I? You don't know? Beniko: Of course, I don't even know who you are...? Heh, you weren't as sharp as I thought you'd be. Well then, I am your partner. Beniko: Brunhilde? Brunhilde: Yes, and that battle from earlier was awful. Awful? I didn't even put the blame on you for our loss! Beniko: Awful? It was good enough! Brunhilde: It wasn't, you keep on using the same strategies and you only won by a fluke in the end. Beniko: True.. but that doesn't mean I'm weak- Brunhilde interrupted her by putting her sword in front of her face. Brunhilde: Then show me that wasn't by chance. Brunhilde flipped the blade and lent it to Beniko. Brunhilde: Then let us see if you're worthy. Beniko: Huh? Brunhilde: Feel free to run away, but I must remind you... She produced another sword from thin air. Brunhilde: I will never come for you, no matter how much you call for me. That means... I won't be able to talk with my Bey? Beniko: I think I'm not left with that much of a choice here. Brunhilde: So that's your choice? Brunhilde charged straight for Beniko, but Beniko would parry her attacks in time. Ah! She's fast! Beniko repeatedly blocked her attacks, but Brunhilde was overpowering her. Brunhilde: Is that all you got? Beniko: Yeah! I'm a high-schooler, not whatever you are! Brunhilde: You're my owner... Brunhilde sent a powerful attack towards her from above. Brunhilde: If you want to get stronger, then you'll have to show me that you're a worthy owner! Why am I in a swordfight now?! Beniko: Calm down! Despite Beniko's pleads, Brunhilde still furiously attacked her. Brunhilde: You're giving up now? Pathetic. Brunhilde kicked Beniko back, blasting her away. Beniko: Gah! That hurt... I regret getting into a fight with her! Brunhilde: I thought you wanted to be the best Blader? Are you giving up because you can't tame your Bey? Beniko: What? Brunhilde: Get up, and show me you're worthy... Brunhilde got into a stance and her sword glowed. Brunhilde: Of my power! Brunhilde dashed towards her. I can't have her? So that means I can't... Beniko: Literally just after creating you, you're rejecting me? Brunhilde: No, as I said earlier. Brunhilde and Beniko's swords clashed. Brunhilde: I wanna see how strong you are. You think I'm weak huh? Beniko: Trust me, I'm way stronger than you think! Beniko pushed back Brunhilde, parrying her attack, and swung her sword at her with great strength. Beniko: Hah! Beniko sent a barrage of attacks to her, and Brunhilde was struggling. Beniko: Don't screw with me... Brunhilde would get punched in the face by Beniko, knocking her away then dashing towards her in mid-air. Beniko: Because I'm not giving up, and you're coming with me! Beniko thrusted forward, but Brunhilde kicked her into the air. Brunhilde: Hm, just what I wanted to hear. Brunhilde jumped into the air and slashed at her, Beniko defended but she eventually was caught off-guard, resulting in her being stabbed. W-what? Her sword... I don't feel anything though! Brunhilde: I suppose you've cleared all my doubts. Brunhilde pushed the sword further in, and it turned into light. Beniko: What is this feeling? Brunhilde: Well, I suppose that you're my owner now. The entire place lit up, and in place of the void, a green meadow appeared. Brunhilde: Rest well then. Beniko's vision would fade to white, and it seemed like Brunhilde disappeared along with the light, then she'd wake up in her room. Ah! What was that?! I got stabbed by a sword and then... Beniko felt strangely good as if she was filled with energy. I'm feeling a little pumped right now. Beniko looked at her Bey, and gave a little smile. Beniko: So we're doing this, huh? Beniko is cool, I like her character and the interactions are great. Your bey motifs are so unique to the point that I never heard of them, I.e. Brunhilde, never heard of it, shows how unique it is, at least for me. Brunhilde is cool too I guess, not really a fan of those attack types but it looks cool. Her avatar is cool, never thought I would see a sword fight in a beyblade fic. . It is hard for me to give my opinion on chapters, specially when I don't have control over my rudeness and might hurt people for nothing (the reason for all the times I didn't shared my "analysis". BTW, that doesn’t mean the chapters I don't review are bad, it is more of a mood thing). But yeah, great chapter. RE: Beyblade Burst: Sisu - SpeedySuomi - Dec. 07, 2021 Chapter 6: Old Rival Spoiler (Click to View) [Venni's Perspective, a few hours earlier] Running off like that, what was I thinking? Promise me you'll remember me and keep on Blading, all right? You're just wasting a gift, you know? Beniko's face and Takeru's words filled his mind. Why did you have to screw with my mind like this... Beniko? Vainamoinen: Venni, you ran off from your best friend. What happened? Shut up Vainamoinen. I want some silence right now. Vainamoinen: But Venni- Venni cut off Vainamoinen. I said shut up! As I said earlier, I need some time off. I don't know... Vainamoinen: You don't know what? I don't know how to face her... especially after breaking my promise. ... Vainamoinen: Forgive me for bothering you. Venni went to a vacant park, sitting down on a bench. Troubled, he'd let off a sigh. Venni: Don't worry Vainamoinen, you didn't do anything. Venni looked at his Bey, talking to her. It's just that... I'm in a pinch now as to what I should do. Vainamoinen: You know, your mother made me for your own sake. My own sake? Vainamoinen: Ironic, huh? Kaarina did that even if you hated it. Mom, you... let's just go home, shall we? I can't think straight after all the things that have happened recently. Vainamoinen: Go on ahead. [Later on, Miyazono Residence] As Venni arrived, Aina appeared out of the door and ran for him. Aina: Took you a while! I missed you! Aina hugged him tightly, and the two spoke in their own language. Venni (Finnish): What's the matter? Aina jumped off of him. Aina (Finnish): Nothing, I just felt lonely without you two! Anyways, where's Takeru? The two walk into the house Venni (Finnish): He's still with that Akio guy. Aina (Finnish): Ah, so you've met him? How was he? Venni leans on the corridor's wall. Venni: He seems like a good guy. He doesn't look like it, but there's more to him than that just big mouth of his. Aina: Mhm, that kid's got a big mouth. But his brain and his heart are just as big! Smiling, she'd put her fist on her chest. Venni: Yeah, seems like it. Venni got off the wall and began to walk upstairs. Aina: Tired already? Midway through the stairs, Venni stopped walking. Venni: ...Probably. Venni proceeded to go to his room. After closing the door, he laid down on his bed and began to converse with his Bey. So, Venni. Venni: Hm? Vainamoinen: Tell me, what led you to this? Venni sighed, laying down on his bed. Venni: I don't want to talk about it. Vainamoinen: Hmm... I wanna hear about it. Venni: Look, I wanna rest, alright? Venni got brought to the tundra where he first met Vainamoinen. Unlike before, there was no wind, and he instead stood on pure white snow. In there was the human form of his Bey, sitting down with her eyes closed as always. This place, again? Vainamoinen: It's the same tundra we were in last time, forgive me. Venni: I would if you would stop bothering me about why I don't wanna go Blading. Vainamoinen: It won't hurt letting it all out. Vainamoinen hugged Venni, much to his surprise. Venni: What are you doing?! Vainamoinen: I'll hear you out, and I'll understand. Venni: How would you understand anyways? You're just a Bey, aren't you? Vainamoinen got off of him gently and returned to her original position. Venni also looked away from her. Vainamoinen: I didn't come to your Bey of my own accord, it was because I was your mother's partner when she was younger and she called out to me. Venni was silent for a moment, then he looked at her in shock. Venni: Wait, what? Vainamoinen: Yes, when she was younger... she used to be very reckless and free. While reminiscing about the past, she smiled. Venni: Hmph, sounds familiar. Venni began listening to her. Vainamoinen: She was a strong woman, and that strength translated quite well in her Blading. Venni: I might sound a little offensive, but she was something of a gorilla with her strength. Venni let off a short chuckle. Vainamoinen: A leopard would be more appropriate. Venni: How so? Vainamoinen: Well, comparing a beautiful woman to a chimp would be rude now, wouldn't it? Venni: Fair point. An awkward silence ensued. Venni: Can you continue? Vaiamoinen: Mhm, as you wish. Back then, HMS Beys were still used. Your mother was something of a reckless airhead, similar to your friend. ... [Kaarina, 14 years old] Kaarina: Yes, yes! This is it! She was making a Bey in her home and was almost finished with the blueprints. Kaarina: Hey, look, Leon! Her soon-to-be husband, Leon went into where Kaarina was. Leon: What? Kaarina: This Bey is definitely going to be strong! Leon: Hmm... what's it called? Kaarina: I'm not exactly sure as to what I should call her but... Leon leaned on her chair. Leon: You've got a pretty singing voice, you know that? Kaarina blushed and looked away. Kaarina: Eh? N-no... I don't! Shut up! Leon just laughed. Leon: Your reactions are pretty funny sometimes, Kaarina. Kaarina pouted. Pretty singing voice, huh? I've read a story about Vainamoinen before, a hero with a magical voice... Kaarina: I think we should begin making this. Leon: Yeah, I'm ready. The two started their work on the Bey, which was a hexagonal Defense-type with six spikes sticking out of it. Leon: We're almost done. Kaarina: Yeah! I can't wait to see how Vainamoinen turns out! Leon: Vainamoinen, you say? Kaarina: Mhm, that's what I'll be calling it. Leon: That fits you. Kaarina: Mhm. Kaarina went silent and stared at her Bey for a while, before realizing what Leon just said. Kaarina: Huh?! Leon: What? Kaarina: N-no, it doesn't fit me at all! Kaarina looked at him with an embarrassed face. Leon: Heh, that girly side of you is cute. Leon chuckled. Kaarina: Shut up! Kaarina hit Leon in the head while he was laughing. Leon: Ouch. Kaarina: Well... I guess you're right. Leon, you... what's that guy's deal anyway? She looked away from him as her Bey was finally finished. Leon: Oh look, your Bey's finished now! Kaarina: Really? Kaarina looked at the final product and a large smile appeared on her face. Kaarina: Cool! It's done! Leon: Well, what are you waiting for? Claim your prize. Kaarina formed it and as she did, she raised it in the air. Kaarina: Nice to meet you, Vainamoinen! Vainmoinen gleamed, flashing a small purple light for a second. Nice to meet you too, Kaarina Mäkinen. A feminine voice spoke to her in her mind. Kaarina: Ah! Startled, she moved backward and stumbled. Vainamoinen was also dropped onto the floor in the process, but it was fine. My Bey talked?! Leon went to her aid. Leon: Hey, are you okay? Kaarina: My Bey just talked! Leon went silent for a moment then just laughed it off. Leon: Impossible, there's no way a Bey could just talk. Kaarina looked at him and pointed towards her Bey. Kaarina: No, I'm being real here! She knew my full name as well! Leon gave her a small smile. Leon: Well, I'll leave you and your Bey here for now, I'll need to do some work. Kaarina: Hey, are you serious?! This is creepy! She just said "nice to meet you" or something! It's really suspicious. The two of them stood up. Leon: If your Bey talked to you, I'm sure they don't have any malicious intent towards you. Kaarina looked at her Bey that fell, her mouth slightly open. Leon: Well, I'm off then. See you soon. Kaarina: Y-yeah... No malicious intent, huh? Okay so uh... how do I talk to her? Kaarina approached her Bey slowly. Come on, there's no need to be afraid. Vainamoinen's voice echoed throughout her mind. Okay, you're being really creepy now! Well, do you want me to talk casually, I suppose? Maybe... but that's not the point. And also, stop popping outta nowhere! Forgive me, if I have scared you. ...Well, it's fine to me, I guess. She sat down on the floor in front of her Bey and closed her eyes. Later on, she was dragged into the avatar world, a white void. Okay, now- what?! Kaarina: Hey, where am I?! A beautiful woman with fair skin and silver hair appeared before Kaarina. Her eyes were closed, and she wore a dress that seemed like it belonged to royalty. She's surprisingly pretty... Kaarina: Wow, you look really... beautiful! I was expecting an old man to appear but- Vainamoinen stared at her, and even though her eyes were closed it was clear that she was irritated. Kaarina: Ah! Uh... sorry. Vainamoinen sighed, and just patted her head. Vainamoinen: It's fine. Kaarina: So err... why did you bring me here? Vainamoinen: Well, I suppose a little time together wouldn't hurt now, would it? Kaarina looked at her in silence for a moment before talking. Kaarina: Sure. Vainamoinen: Hm, an introduction to myself would be nice. She'd cough twice. Vainamoinen: I am the spirit of your Beyblade, Vainamoinen is the name you have given me. Kaarina: Mhm... Kaarina put her hand on her chin and crossed her legs as she sat down, thinking of what to say to her. Kaarina: Hey, you're a Beyblade spirit or something, right? Have you had a name before? Vainamoinen shook her head. Vainamoinen: No, I haven't. Kaarina: I see, well since you introduced yourself to me. Let me re-introduce myself! Kaarina stood up proudly. Kaarina: My name is Kaarina Mäkinen, and my dream is to be the best Blader in the world! She pointed at Vainamoinen, causing her to raise a brow in curiosity. Kaarina: And that dream starts with you! Vainamoinen gazed at her, then began chuckling. Kaarina: Hey, what's funny? Vainamoinen: That'd be rather hard to achieve but... Vainamoinen stood up and held her hands. Vainamoinen: I'll be willing to come with you. Kaarina let go and jumped in joy. Kaarina: Alright! [Present Day] Vainamoinen: And the rest was history. She never completed her dream of being the best in the world but... she was close to achieving it. Venni: Hm, I never expected Mom to be like that. She raised both of her eyebrows. Vainamoinen: Isn't she like that always? Venni: Well, not really. She was a gentle person who was careful in her actions, but I think that makes sense since Aunt Aina is pretty bashful. Both of them smiled. Vainamoinen: I told my story, so how about you tell yours? Venni: About what? Vainamoinen: Why you decided to quit Blading, and why you dislike it. The smile on Venni's face disappeared, as did the good thoughts in his mind. They were replaced by thoughts of his past. Heikki, don't go! Venni followed a person, but his face was obscured by a shadow. Get off of me. That person pushed him to the ground, leaving him behind. Look, I can't continue without you, big bro! With Venni crying out for him, the man gazed at him one last time and silence fell. What's the point? H-huh? Just give it up. He pictured a Bey falling and shattering in his mind. ... Venni: I... don't want to remember. Vainamoinen: Huh? He left her, but there was something different about his eyes. It seemed like they were dead, devoid of emotion. Venni: Thanks for letting me hear about Mom's story. Vainamoinen stood up and went after him. Vainamoinen: Wait! Venni faded into dust and drifted into the real world. Vainamoinen: Venni! Venni opened his eyes as he laid down in bed. How bothersome. [The next day, Beniko's Perspective] Beniko woke up, stretching and jumping out of bed immediately. Enthusiastically, she shouted. Beniko: Right, good morning everyone! She grabbed her Bey and lifted it up in the air. And as she did so, her mother opened the door. Yuka: Oh, you're awake! That was very loud as well, by the way. Beniko: Ah, sorry! Yuka: I'm glad to see you so happy though. Both of them smiled at each other. Beniko: Oh, and by the way. Why did Kyouka come here yesterday? Yuka: Ah, she wanted to see but you weren't there. She figured you were tired too, so she left when you arrived. Beniko: So that's how it is... I don't know what her deal is going here, but I feel like she was up to no good. Well, I think she's changed though, so that's fine! Yuka: Also, breakfast is ready. You might wanna come down before we eat it up! As Yuka said that, Beniko was already gone and behind her. Yuka: Beniko? Beniko: I'm taking breakfast first! This alarmed her but just left it. Yuka: That kid... She smiled. [Downstairs] After this, I've gotta go to the shop those two were in. I might find Venni, but first... Beniko: Breakfast! She ate up what was served for her quickly. Beniko: Right! I'm heading out! Yuka: Hey, you haven't taken a bath yet! Beniko: Oh yeah, sorry! She ran upstairs as quickly as possible. Yuka (muffled): Quit running as well, please?! Beniko: Alright! Beniko slowed down as she reached the bathroom, and stayed there for a while taking a bath. Hmph, I'm that excited to meet him huh? Even though he ran away from me... Beniko: I suppose that's that then. She turned off the shower and left the bath to dry herself and get changed. Beniko: Well, I'm off then. Beniko left her house and went to Akio's shop. The weather's nice today, but something's kinda off. Kyouka would usually go jogging here, right? ... Not that it's a problem though! She probably just woke up late! Beniko puffed up her chest and smiled. Beniko: Alright, this time I'll meet with you, Venni! A couple of minutes later, she arrived at Akio's shop, but there was a sign saying 'CLOSED' on the door grilles. However, they were semi-open meaning some people were in. It's closed? The shop seems to be open though. Beniko crouched through the door grilles and found the door to be unlocked. Seems like there are people here, it's fine though. I think it might be just Kanayama-san setting up shop. Beniko: Hello? Anyone here? No one's here, yet. I might check downstairs. Beniko went to the basement. Beniko: Hey, hello? Akio opened the door and greeted her with a smile on his face. Akio: Oh, Beniko! What's up? Beniko: Nothing much, but I'm feeling fine! Akio: Good to hear. Beniko peeked through Akio and looked at the room. Beniko: Hey, is Venni here? Akio: No, but someone that's kinda like him is. Beniko: Who? As soon as she said that, she laid her eyes on Kyouka, who was sitting on a desk trying to draw something. Beniko: Kyouka! As she heard Beniko's voice, she dropped whatever she was doing and looked at her. Kyouka: My, my. If it isn't you! She gave a gentle smile to her, then Beniko went to check up on what she was doing. Beniko: What are you doing there? Kyouka returned to her work as Beniko was looking with enthusiasm. This... is it a Formula Bey? Akio: She wanted to make a new Bey for herself, and I think she went to the right place for just that! Beniko: Yeah, no sh-t. This looks pretty strong too! Kyouka: And it will be, fufu! Beniko: If you say so then. The blueprints contained a circular Stamina-type Bey, with what seemed to be balls on the inside. Why are there metal balls inside her Bey? What's that gonna do? Kyouka: Oh, yeah. Kanayama-san? Akio looked at her after being called. Kyouka: Do you guys have bearing balls as well as plastic rings? Akio: Uh-huh, I think so. Kyouka: Is that so? Well then... She grinned in a sinister way. Kyouka: Let's begin. Beniko: I don't know what this Bey of yours is gonna do, but... this is gonna be fun! Akio grabbed the materials and Beniko made the 3D model for Kyouka's Bey. All of them began work on it and were finished a while later. Kyouka: This process is truly satisfying, don't you agree? Beniko: Yeah, but those rings you wanted to make were hard to do. Akio: Well, look on the bright side girls. We completed it! True, that. Her Bey looks very interesting as well. Akio: Well, how about we give her a little spin? Beniko: Yeah, but... what's its name? Kyouka: I haven't really thought about it but... She thought for a while as she looked at her Bey. Kyouka: I'll call it... Caprice Kalliope. As soon as Kyouka gave her Bey's name, she pointed Brunhilde towards her. Beniko: Alright then, you and me! Kyouka: Took the words right of my mouth. Akio: I was hoping to get in on the action but, whatever. Do whatever you two want to! They nodded and headed for the stadium, taking their positions. It's a stamina-type, which would normally mean this'll be a breeze. But, the one who's at the wheel is Kyouka, so she's not to be underestimated. Akio: Right, 3... 2... 1... (In unison): Go shoot! The two launched with great force, and in contrast to how Brunhilde landed, Kalliope dropped down as if it was a feather. What's up with that launch? It's as if there's no impact whatsoever... Kyouka: To the center! Beniko: Oh no you don't! Kalliope reached the center immediately, and so did Brunhilde. Right, direct hit! As Brunhilde struck Kalliope, the unthinkable happened. Brunhilde slipped past as if nothing happened at all. Beniko: Wha- Kyouka: Fufu. I attacked her, but Brunhilde just slipped? Think and look Beniko, what do you see? I don't know, Kyouka parrying you? Are you being sarcastic?! I'll let you see for yourself, I don't care if I Burst or whatnot. Sheesh, calm down Hilde-san. Hilde-san? What? It's just a nickname! Don't get too offended. Tch. This girl... Brunhilde runs across the stadium and onto the outer ridge, having the Sword tip grind against the banking and gaining momentum. Kyouka: What's the matter? Go on ahead. Beniko: You don't need to tell me twice! Brunhilde gains enough power for a powerful attack then sends a barrage of attacks towards her, but once again it'd have no effect on her. Beniko: Damn! Are you serious? Kyouka: You can do more than that, come on! Keep on attacking. A smirk appeared on Kyouka's face, but it was as gentle as ever. Beniko: Keep at it! After barraging her, Brunhilde's sword gleamed. Beniko: Gladius Slash! Brunhilde sent a powerful strike towards her, sending Kalliope airborne. Kyouka: Hm? Beniko: Alright! As she landed that hit, Brunhilde ran out of stamina and Kalliope descended from above softly, as if nothing ever happened. Eh? No way! Beniko: I was certain I landed that hit! Kyouka: You could try again if you like. Beniko: You know me, I'm always up for a challenge! Akio sighed. Akio: Let me guess, you two are gonna battle until midnight? Kyouka: I doubt I will, but it's certain that Beniko here would want to try and defeat Kalliope. Akio: Right, I'll go take care of the shop. I don't wanna leave it stagnant just to watch two girls fight. Kyouka giggled as Akio headed upstairs. Kyouka: Right then, I'll see you! Those two... when have they gotten so close to each other? Kyouka whistled at Beniko. Kyouka: So, are we going to continue or not? Beniko: Say no more! Once again, the two got into position and began counting down. (In unison): Three, two, one... go shoot! They launched their Beys with optimal strength. Beniko: Come on! Kalliope took the center again, but Brunhilde immediately responded with an oncoming attack, pushing it off the center. Good, she's off-balance right now. As Kalliope was knocked away, Brunhilde turns back and charges towards it. Beniko: Take this! Brunhilde struck Kalliope two times in a row, weakening it further and knocking it away to the wall. Kyouka: Impressive! Keep up the good work! Utilizing the force of being knocked away, Kalliope would slightly turn left as it hit the wall. Kyouka: But it appears that you'll need to do more than that, my dear Beniko. Instead of being damaged, Kalliope rode the wall on its ring, giving it a great boost in speed. What the? No way! Beniko: Brunhilde, prepare! Kyouka: Kalliope. Brunhilde circled around the stadium and gained enough momentum to head for the banking, Kalliope then left the wall and crashed into Brunhilde, with its ring being enveloped in a whirlwind. Kyouka: Capriccio Melody! The wind surrounding Kalliope became larger as it lifted up Brunhilde into the air, Bursting it due to the speed of the wind. Argh! I kinda expected this, but have you noticed anything yet? Brunhilde? No, not really... it's spinning too fast for me to observe. Watch more carefully. Roger that. Kyouka: My goodness. Kyouka sighed. Beniko: Hm? Kyouka: I'm slightly disappointed, actually. I know you can do more than that. As Kyouka spoke, it seemed that her eyes were dead, as if she lacked any interest in Beniko. Beniko: I'm not yet done anyways, so let's keep going. Kyouka: If that's what you want then. For the third time, they began battling. (In unison): Go shoot! Their Beys landed in perfect sync as they launched. I'm not sure about what her Bey does, but one thing's for certain... I'll need to kill her stamina quickly! Beniko: Brunhilde! Brunhilde charged towards the center with great speed, which was where Kalliope would've wanted to go. Kyouka took notice of this and charged ahead too. Kyouka: Lukewarm. The two converged at the center, but Kalliope would merely evade, causing Brunhilde to slightly tap Kalliope and made it understeer quite a bit. That ring, I see now! Everything slowed down, including Beniko's body itself, leaving only Beniko's consciousness roaming around as well as Brunhilde's spirit. Brunhilde: What is it then? Kalliope's got free spin! Brunhilde: Finally, you've caught up. Wait, you didn't tell this earlier? Brunhilde: I was hoping you would as well, you airhead. Why then?! Brunhilde: You'd probably flop if you knew about it in the first place. And I don't wanna hear you cry to me about what to do when you can't bust through that girl's defenses. Quit acting like that, will you? You're pretty damn annoying! First off you almost try to kill me just to 'test' my strength, then you don't tell me what kind of ability she has? Brunhilde: Shut up now, eyes on the road. Well, at least you still follow what I say- I said shut up before I drive myself into your gut. Beniko's eyebrows twitched in frustration, and as she went back to reality, Brunhilde was sent careening towards the wall. Beniko: Brunhilde, you... forget it! Recover! The swords Brunhilde's driver would come into contact with the wall and the floor, allowing it to recover while also minimizing stamina loss. Beniko: Good! Now time for the comeback! Brunhilde charged for Kalliope again. And as Brunhilde approached her, Kalliope tilted, causing it to arc on its tip and evade Brunhilde while it was stationary. Beniko: Another one! Brunhilde took a sharp turn and attacked Kalliope out of nowhere, knocking it all the way to the wall. Kyouka: It seems that you've regained a little bit of your old form. Not bad... As Kalliope was in the air, it tilted forward slightly. It was barely noticeable, but it was enough angle to fit in the stadium's banking. Kyouka: Caprice Drive! As Kalliope landed, it suddenly charged towards Brunhilde with great speed, leaving behind a green trail of light as it struck Brunhilde. Bugger! Brunhilde's sword got caught in one of the gaps on Kalliope's ring, immobilizing it and killing all of its spin. Beniko: Ah, I knew it! Kyouka smiled gently, but a sinister aura surrounded her. Kyouka: You did great, but it seems that it's goodbye to your Bey. Beniko: What? Using the speed from earlier, Kalliope carried Brunhilde towards the wall with great speed, crushing it even though it's stopped spinning. Beniko: Hey, no, stop that! Kalliope pushed it even further into the wall, almost crushing it. Beniko: I said stop, damn it! Despite not spinning, the sword appeared to be pushing against the ring, weakening its force somewhat. Gah... d-do something! I can't... are you serious, Kyouka?! A small crack appeared on the layer, causing Brunhilde to scream in pain. AH! Beniko: ...I'm sorry! As Brunhilde was about to be broken, all of a sudden, another voice appeared. Man... I made your Bey and you're trying to break another one of the Beys that I made? T-that voice... is that? Akio arrived without anyone noticing, seemingly distraught at what Kyouka was doing. Kyouka: Oh, hey there Akio- Akio silently launched his Bey with great force, zooming towards Kalliope and Brunhilde with great force. Akio: I'll fix that Bey of yours later, for now... Akio went in between the two, flinging Kalliope towards the center and lifting Brunhilde into the air. Beniko: Brunhilde! Brunhilde would get caught by Beniko. You're safe... Agh... I don't need your sympathy... Brunhilde gleamed. But I guess you still caught me. Looking down, Beniko smiled at her before focusing on the battle. Kyouka: You're interrupting me. As the smile on her face would disappear, the presence surrounding her grew larger. Akio: Yeah, and it appears that you're about to piss me off. Akio's presence grew larger as well, equalling that of Kyouka's. Noticing this, Kyouka pulled back Kalliope on purpose and Akio would follow suit. Akio: How about I take it from here? [Akio's Perspective] Akio's eyebrows furrowed as he smiled widely, showing off his sharp teeth. Kyouka: I could say the same thing to you, you moron. Akio: Well then, how 'bout we have a little dance? You and me. Akio got into position. Kyouka: Alright then. Kyouka also got into position. Kyouka: Because I'll shatter that f*cking Bey of yours. She said in a gentle manner while smiling like a mother. Akio: So you're showing your true colors now, eh? Man this chick's insane... Akio's smile grew, making it look monstrous. That makes this battle 10 times better! Beniko: I owe you one, Kanayama-san. Akio: No need to thank me, at least my work hasn't gone to waste. Beniko: Heh, alright then. Three... two... one... (In unison): Go shoot! The two Beys landed in sync after they launched it. Judgin' from what I saw earlier, I think Kalliope's got free-spin on her. Well, I got the perfect counter to that. Come on, Akio. Give me a good battle here! Don't worry, 'cause it looks like I found some good prey! Alright, that's good to hear! Amarok howled within his mind, and as he stepped back into reality Amarok charged towards Kalliope which was about to reach the center. Akio (aggressive): RAGH! Amarok hit Kalliope with great force, knocking it mid-air. It looks like I've got a taste of her. Yeah, me too man. How is it? Definitely interesting! This girl is good prey indeed! Haha! Glad to hear that, and... Akio: Now we feast! Amarok tilted, causing the Jolt driver to grind against the floor and dash towards Kalliope which was descending, much to Kyouka's surprise. Kyouka: What? Akio: You don't taunt a wolf... Amarok hit Kalliope from underneath, lifting it up to the ceiling. Akio: When he's starvin'! Kyouka's eyes widened, and in a panicked state she built up the wind around her Bey, pushing her off the ceiling and crashing down with great force. Kyouka: Caprice - Descrescendo! As Kalliope landed, it made a loud noise, and gusts of wind blew across the room. As a result of the drop, it lost quite a bit of stamina and was set off balance for a moment. Beniko: No way! Akio: Hoho! Just what I wanna see! Despite the strong winds, Amarok remained unfazed. In fact, it just ran across the stadium like there was nothing at all. Kyouka: He's strong... Akio: I'm not done yet! Amarok! Amarok circled around the stadium once before charging straight for Kalliope, sending a barrage of attacks with great speed. Kyouka: You're being a nuisance, you know? Akio: If you intend to give me a broken Bey in my already big list of stuff I need to fix, I suggest that you piss off. Her eyebrows twitched in frustration, and she gritted her teeth. Kyouka: You've got the balls to talk to me like that, huh? Amarok continued to rain hits upon it, until Kalliope would tilt at the right angle, causing the free-spinning ring to come into contact with the underside of Amarok, causing it to tilt off balance and ram itself into the wall. It appears that our prey is beginning to fight back! Yeah, I can see that. With Amarok out of the way Kalliope regained balance quickly and circled out of the center, tilting. Kyouka: Being light has some of its perks, you know? Kyouka calmed down and smiled once more. Akio: I know, that Bell Daikokuten kid showed exactly what they are. Kyouka: I suppose it's my turn now. With great speed, Kalliope sent a barrage of attacks towards Amarok, moving in a circular line. Akio: Not bad, but is that all you can do?! Kyouka: No, as I said... Her grin grew and showed a crazed expression. Kyouka: I'll shatter your Bey. Kalliope became faster and faster with each hit, pummeling Amarok against the wall. Akio: Heh, you're a psycho, Chikamoto-san. Kyouka: I'm not, it's just how I fight! Kyouka giggled, and as Akio was pinned down he was plotting something. So, you wanna do that thing again? Amarok's deep voice spoke to him. Do what? Remember that battle with those two? Oh, the one where Beniko got trapped? Yeah, yeah. Hehe, I see what you mean. Kalliope didn't stop, but that was all he needed as he wanted to stay on the wall. Amarok then grinded against the wall with its rubber blades, building up heat within them as well as force. Kyouka: Sad to say this, but this is the end for you. Akio: You sure about that? After gaining enough energy, Amarok then began to spin faster. Akio: Amarok! A yellow aura engulfed Amarok, and as Kalliope dealt its final hit, Amarok caught Kalliope in one of its blades. Akio: Devour 'em! Wraith's Fang! Amarok slammed Kalliope into the wall, killing its spin. Kyouka: Hm? Akio: Alright! Amarok had put way too much force in its attack however and as a result, it slipped and launched itself out of the stadium. Akio: Ah! Hmph, we were close. I know. I'm kinda satisfied nonetheless! Now go pick me up, will ya'? Yeah, don't worry. Akio picked up Amarok. Kyouka: That was anti-climactic. Akio: Truth be told, it was. Beniko: Wow... The room fell silent for a while until Akio decided it wouldn't be. Akio: So, Chikamoto-san. Kyouka: Hm? Akio: Why did you wanna destroy Brunhilde? Kyouka giggled and gave an answer later on. Kyouka: Well let's say... Beniko-san wasn't as beautiful as she was in the past. She gave a sinister smile to Akio. Kyouka: Fufu. [To be continued...] Chapter 7 is out! Caprice Kalliope Twist Bearing Metal-8K -Caprice Kalliope is a right-spinning Stamina-type Bey with a circular shape and four small gaps all across, each of which have spikes that don't stick out much. The whole Blade is free-spin and is supported by a plastic bearing, making it parry more efficiently while also being much lighter than most Formula Beys. The Twist disc is a circular DB disc encased in plastic, which is also free-spinning. The Driver is the Metal (tip) variant of Bearing, but it retains the POM plate, and now has a second bearing located at the base, supporting the shaft. So we already have a bey destroyer, and it's a cool one. Akio/Kyouka interactions are funny. You forgot to describe 8K on the extra notes. I suppose Beniko and Brunhilde will get closer to each other as the season goes on. Also, I think Akio was only getting angry about Brunhilde breaking because Kyouka was using one of his creations to take out the other, because in theory Akio wouldn't care that much, since he creates beys and can easily create another identical Brunhilde. Kalliope is surely an interesting bey, and you took an interesting approach for its gimmick, lightweight and free spinning. It is just a little odd that it is an stamina type, but I guess Air Knight was stamina so yeah. K is basically a Core Frame that slopes towards the center, creating downforce. The same is said for 8 as well. And Akio did it because of how long it took him to make it, he started making Kalliope at 4 AM and ended at around 9 AM (dude had to find parts for the plastic bearing), which was when Beniko came. For Brunhilde, it took him like 4 hours. It was quicker because he re-used an old driver (Sword) and just gave it a better spring. That, and he also has a shop to run. Best to avoid her for now. Akio looked back at Beniko, who stared at the door with a slightly angered expression, gritting her teeth and furrowing her eyebrows. Akio: You okay, Haruna? Beniko: Kyouka, you... She should go piss off already, damn it! Beniko stomped her foot onto the ground. Akio: She was fun to fight with, but she's a psycho, yeah. Beniko: I wanna beat her down! Beniko ran for the door but Akio held her wrist to prevent her from leaving. Beniko: Ah! Let me go! Beniko pulled his arm to try and get off of him, but she couldn't let go. Akio: Not on my watch, Brunhilde's still wrecked. Beniko: Ah? Yeah, I forgot! She forgot in like, an instant. How? Beniko: Here! Beniko gave her Bey to Akio with a wide smile. Akio: Right, right. Akio went to his table. Beniko: Also, hear me out! Akio: What? Beniko: Upgrade Brunhilde! Akio stared at her silently for a moment. Eh? You gotta be kidding me, right? Beniko: You could give it a frame kinda like with yours, or maybe a better driver just like the Asahi Brothers and Valt Aoi back in the day! Beniko paced around as she was talking. Akio: What are you saying? I don't have time for this- Beniko: Maybe you could add a rubber sword on Brunhilde, or maybe something similar to the Limit Break system! Beniko continued on buzzing about the upgrades she wanted on her Bey, annoying Akio. Akio: Oi, Beniko- Beniko: More wings, more metal! Akio (aggressive): That's enough! Akio pushed her to the wall, surprising her and causing her to squeal a bit. Akio: Look, I ain't a machine, alright? Akio closed up on her face. Akio: This is your problem, you want an upgrade for your Bey? Get good first. Akio pushed himself off the wall, leaving Beniko there. Akio: I'll be brutally honest with you now, you suck. Beniko: What?! Beniko was angered and almost ran after him. Akio: I ain't sayin' this to drag you down, but I'm just being honest. Beniko: Then what do you have to say to me? Akio: When you get the chance, you always let it slip and you also don't realize something's up until it's too late. Beniko opened her mouth a little to try and speak to him but just stared at the ground instead of saying anything. Akio: I also think yer' Bey doesn't like you. Beniko's eyes widened. Akio: Look, I'll fix your Bey, but that doesn't mean I'll add on some crazy upgrades to your Bey. With Akio saying that he took a seat and began repairing the damaged Brunhilde. Akio: Go deal with her yourself, this battle's your problem. ... [Beniko's Perspective] Brunhilde doesn't like me... I think that was a bit clear with how Hilde-san's talking to me. Beniko leaned on the wall silently, before sitting down. Akio: I'll be taking a while, so you could go outside if you wanna. Sitting down, she gave him a smirk. Beniko: Right then, I'll be heading out. Beniko walked out of the shop to take a walk. ... Beniko went to the park where Venni was originally was at and sat down on the bench there, alone. Even though I fought against Kyouka and Kanayama-san, I haven't won against them, haven't I? Beniko grabbed her pocket and realized there was nothing there. Hm? Oh, wait... yeah. She isn't here. Beniko: I haven't done it until now, but it feels weird not being able to talk to her. Heh, I fought with Brunhilde just so that she could talk smack at me. Beniko: I'm a really useless owner. She chuckled and curled up into a ball, tearing up a little. Beniko: What if I just...? No, don't think about it. I got a little bit ahead of myself earlier, speaking of which... I've always relied on someone else's strength haven't I? I couldn't prevent my Bey from breaking, and Kanayama-san had to stop it himself. And apparently, he lost to the other shabby-looking guy that was with him. Beniko: Damn it... She sat down, crying. Beniko: I don't deserve her. A certain person from the past appeared in her head. You still have a long way to go. I-I can't see clearly... Beniko's eyes were filled with tears, but the boy's hand reached out for her. Here. She went back to reality and saw a person in front of her. It also appeared to be a familiar face. Beniko... are you fine? She wiped her tears and looked up. Beniko: Uh, V-Venni? Oh, shoot. H-he's here! He saw me crying... w-what do I do...? Beniko: D-don't look at me, please... Venni reached out to her. Venni: Sorry for running off last time, I really apologize. Feeling like he did something wrong, he pulled back his hand. Venni: I know I haven't seen you for years and replied like that, I was just in a bit of conflict that time. He scratched his head, and Beniko just scoffed at him. Beniko: While I don't feel exactly like you do, I think we're facing a similar situation, don't you think? Beniko looked at him, tears running down her face which caused Venni to stare a bit in shock. Venni: Oh, boy.. sorry. He looked away with a bit of shame. Ven-san looked away, I didn't really want him to look at me right now but, I think I kinda feel bad for him. Beniko stood up and dried off her tears. Beniko: I'm fine, alright! She then gave him a big, child-like smile. Beniko: At least you're here! Venni smiled in relief. Venni: I'm glad you're here, so uh... why were you crying earlier? Beniko: Hehe, just a little problem from earlier. I don't think I need to elaborate. Venni: I guess so. Beniko: Hey, wanna go take a walk? Venni looked at her, before nodding. Alright! It's been a while since I've done this! The two walked together across the town. Beniko: Say, why'd you come here? Venni: I came here because I was a scholarship from a school called Kaiten Private School. That's all there is to it. Beniko: Kaiten Private School... Kaiten? Wait, so we're both going to the same school then! Beniko: Kaiten?! I'm also gonna enroll there! Venni's eyes widened a little and immediately looked at Beniko. Venni: Really? That's nice. Beniko: And who knows, we might be classmates! Venni stared in awe, before chuckling. Venni: Is that so? Beniko: What's funny? Venni: We're gonna be classmates, I didn't expect that at all. ... Venni: Even if I broke the promise you gave me before leaving. That promise? Promise me you'll remember me and keep on Blading, alright? That day, when I left? Beniko: That promise... you broke it? Venni sighed, and his smile faded away. Venni: Yeah, I'm sorry. Beniko: Why...? Venni put his hand on Beniko's shoulder. Venni: Mind if we take this somewhere else? Beniko: Uh, alright? Both of them walked to a different park and stayed under the shade of a tree. Beniko: Why'd you break the promise? Venni: This may seem like a dumb reason but... Venni looked down with a somber expression on his face, then proceeded to talk. Venni: I don't see any purpose in Blading anymore. Beniko's eyes widened. Beniko: H-huh? Venni: It's stupid, huh? I just gave up because someone told me to do so. Someone I looked up to a lot. It's been 8 years since I last met Venni, is this... what's left of who he was? Venni: I really apologize, but... The two looked at each other. Venni: Are we still friends? Beniko paused and stared at him, before laughing. Beniko: That's a really dumb question, don't you think? Venni: Really, huh? Beniko: We're still friends, of course! Instead of a frown, Beniko gave Venni a wide smile. Venni: Thanks. Beniko: So if you broke that promise... Beniko pointed to him. Beniko: Then I'll make a new one! And I promise you that I'll make you love Blading once more! Venni stood silent for a moment, before beginning to laugh sardonically. Venni: I suppose you could try, good luck then. Venni left afterward with a little smile. Venni: I'll see you, Beniko. He then waved goodbye to her. He's still the same Venni I know, even if it appears that he doesn't like Blading anymore. Well, I guess that doesn't matter now, I think I'm ready to go against Kyouka. Dunno what happened, but I'm feeling really pumped! Beniko: Alright! I'm coming for you... Beniko began running as fast as she could. Beniko (screaming): Kyouka!!! Later on, she arrived at Akio's shop as in record time, where she was greeted by Akio at the entrance. Akio: Oh, you're here. I just happened to finish working. Beniko: You don't need to explain it to me, thanks! Akio: You're oddly energetic, what's up? Beniko: I know that I'm gonna beat Kyouka, that's what's up! Akio laughed loudly. Akio: Alright then, go get 'em! Beniko grabbed Brunhilde immediately and left. So you're back, eh? I should be saying that to you! I've missed you Hilde-san! It's only been an hour, quit crying about it. It's just a little talk with you, no need to get your panties up in a knot! Tch, I guess you could compensate for me being injured in this next battle, hm? I'll do more than that, I'll definitely beat out Kyouka! That's very good to hear. Beniko ran for the place where Kyouka and she were supposed to meet. Beniko: Kyouka! I'm here! She called out to her, but no one was there. Beniko: Kyouka! Where are you?! She called her but was only met with the sound of the leaves rustling. She's late to her own fight? What's up with that? Beniko called out to her again, but nothing happened. Well, if she's not here then I suppose that means I can go home for now. She looked back to see Kyouka behind her, smiling in a creepy way. Beniko: AH! This startled her, causing her to jump back in defense. Kyouka: Hey there, Beniko-san. Beniko: Don't just greet me like that! You scared the living hell out of me! Kyouka: Calm down Beniko. Anyways, I suppose we should start now. Man, she's even more insane now. Just a bit more subtle than when we were kids. Beniko got into position silently, as did Kyouka. Kyouka: Now, are you ready? Beniko: I sure am! Beniko aimed at the stadium. Beniko: Come at me! Kyouka: Very well. Kyouka swept her hair over her ear, before aiming her launcher at the stadium. (In unison): Three, two, one... go shoot! Both Beys landed in perfect sync, not losing any stamina in the process. Kyouka: To the center, Kalliope! She's going for the center again, your typical Stamina-type strategy! Beniko: Hit 'em hard, Brunhilde! Brunhilde immediately responded by rushing to the center, hitting Kalliope then slipping. This stunned Kalliope though, giving her a big enough window for another attack. Beniko: There you are! Brunhilde then recovered in an instant, turning sharply and hitting Kalliope with its sword, knocking it to the wall. Beniko: We're not done yet, keep going! Brunhilde tilted and scraped against the floor in the opposite direction from Kalliope, before tilting enough at an angle where the swords on the Sword would come into contact with the floor, kicking it off and shooting it towards her opponent. Beniko: Sword Stinger! Brunhilde aimed for Kalliope's underside, lifting it off the ground around 2 feet up in the air. Kyouka: That's what I want to see, but it's not enough my dear Beniko. I know what she's up to this time. And, do you know? She's gonna hit me with that sliding thing she does! Then what are you waiting for? Beat them down. You don't really need to say that! Beniko: Brunhilde, the wall! Brunhilde bounced off the wall with its sword, narrowly missing Kalliope who was descending. Kyouka: Kalliope! Caprice Drive! Tilted, Kalliope chased after Brunhilde with the same pace, Brunhilde rode on the banking and sped up whilst Kalliope rode on the wall. Watch it now... Beniko: Alright, hit it! Brunhilde came to a screeching halt, brake-checking Kalliope and sending it to the center unbalanced. Kyouka: Oh? Beniko: Brunhilde! Apex Shoot! Brunhilde then sent a powerful and fast barrage of attacks towards, leaving behind a golden trail. Beniko roared out as she attacked, causing Brunhilde to hit harder. Beniko: Down, girl! Brunhilde blasted Kalliope out of the stadium and right through Kyouka's face, nearly hitting her cheek. Kyouka: Not bad. Kyouka appeared unimpressed though, and just picked up her Bey from the ground. Kyouka: You've improved quite a little. Now time to get serious. Calmly, she got back into position. Beniko: Then I'll respond in kind! The two began counting down again. On the other side of town though, the clouds began to darken. (In unison): Three, two, one... go shoot! The two launched with great force, and Kalliope rushed for the center. Beniko: That again? I know what you're gonna do this time! Brunhilde charged for Kalliope as well, wanting to instantly end this battle. Use your eyes Beniko! She's not slowing down. She's not slowing down? What do you mean? LOOK closely! The two Beys collided at the center, but Kalliope barely evaded it as it was aiming for the wall. Eh? What's Kyouka up to now? She's building up a whirlwind around herself, damn it! Beniko: Huh? Oh, shi- Kyouka: Cappricio Melody! As soon as Beniko realized it, it was too late, a small whirlwind surrounded Kalliope as it crashed into Brunhilde, knocking it back while also lifting it off the ground a couple of centimeters. Ack! Beniko, you always forget things way too easily. Sometimes I wonder if you've got dementia! My bad, my memory isn't too good! Ugh, just get on with it. Beniko: Brunhilde, get back up! It hit the wall mid-air with only a small amount of control, so it was vulnerable to attacks now. Kyouka: Hmph, that was quite mediocre, to be honest with you. Kalliope tilted as it crashed into its opponent, hitting its underside and grappling Brunhilde's disc. Kyouka: Kalliope! Caprice Crescendo! Kalliope threw Brunhilde to the wall and rushed for it as it was vulnerable, grappling it once more and throwing it to the other side of the wall. Kyouka: You have more to learn, it seems. This went on several more times, weakening Brunhilde's stamina with each sequence. Sorry Brunhilde, I'll get you out of there right now! No wait, hold on. What? Just hold on, I've got this. H-huh? Alright? The barrage of attacks continued on, but Beniko only looked on with a straight face. Kyouka: I'll finish your Bey's suffering now, Kalliope! Kalliope pushed Brunhilde against the wall, causing its disc to move and align with the sword on the layer, making it spin faster while blasting Kalliope away from her. Beniko: Alright! Nice one, Brunhilde! Kyouka: So you were going after that all along, eh? Beniko: No, it was Brunhilde that decided it! Brunhilde recovered and pummeled Kalliope whose balance was broken. Beniko: See ya' later! Gladius Sword! The sword on Brunhilde glowed with a golden light, but as Brunhilde was approaching Kalliope, it regained balance. Kyouka: Caprice Spin! Brunhilde slipped and crashed into the wall, making it lose all its spin with a large impact. Lucky girl. We'll get them next time, don't worry. And you better switch it up now. I'm pushing hard, you know? Then push harder, it's common sense. I don't understand you sometimes Hilde-san. Beniko: So, this one's gonna decide our battle huh? Kyouka: Precisely. Beniko: Tell me then, you think breaking Brunhilde's gonna make me stronger? Kyouka: Fufu, yes. Taking that burden off of your shoulder would help you. Beniko laughed at her, confusing Kyouka. Kyouka: Why are you laughing? Beniko looked down, before giving Kyouka a cheeky grin. Beniko: I know you're a smart person, but... Beniko pointed towards Kyouka. Beniko: That's the dumbest thing you've ever said. Kyouka remained silent with a straight face. Beniko: Your concerns for me? That's just a pathetic excuse to weaken me! Kyouka: We'll see about that then, my Beniko. Kyouka smiled gently, but in an evil manner. The fight's about to start. What are you gonna do now? I might sound weird right now but... I'm somewhat of a baseball fan, alright? What does that have to do with Beyblades...? Watch this. Beniko put her right leg behind her as she aimed her launcher. (In unison): Three! Beniko took a deep breath, steadying her aim. (In unison): Two! Beniko lifted her right leg to the front, winding up like a pitcher. (In unison): One! She then gripped her launcher tighter, preparing to launch it. (In unison): Go shoot! She launched harder than before, her right leg landing and her left being lifted upwards. So that's what you meant then. The reading on her tachometer was greater than before, around 2900RPM. Beniko: Don't leave an inch of room, Brunhilde! Kyouka: A new launching form? Interesting, but that won't be enough to defeat Kalliope. Kalliope also went faster than before, appearing to be on the offensive. Kyouka: Kalliope, counter her attacks! She's gonna go for a head-on attack with a Stamina-type? What's she thinking? The two collide at the center, with Brunhilde slipping through Kalliope due to the Caprice Blade. Brunhilde then went at it again for three more times. Beniko: More! Brunhilde attacked several more times. But on the last attempt, Kalliope put force against Brunhilde while letting it slip, causing it to be stunned. Kyouka: Look out, Beniko. Kalliope hit Brunhilde from behind, pushing it towards the wall with great force. Beniko: I should be saying that to you! Brunhilde bounced off the wall as the sword was the part that made contact. Kyouka: Hm?! Kalliope barely evaded contact with Brunhilde and was set off balance. This caused it to tilt on its side and make contact with the wall though, the sloped shape of the Caprice Ring fitting in perfectly with the wall's shape. Kyouka: Oh, this suits me quite well! As Kalliope became faster, it left behind a bright green trail. Brace for impact! I know that! Kyouka: Kalliope! Caprice Arpeggio! As it traveled across the stadium, strong winds blew all around. Okay, this looks like some real trouble! Build up some momentum, I don't wanna get flung around like a ball this time. Brunhilde attempted to evade quickly, but was met by Kalliope's force instead. The sword was struck though, so the impact was slightly minimized. Beniko: That's strong! Brunhilde was set off balance as it landed, leaving it open from attacks. Kyouka: There you are, Beniko! Beniko: Ah! In a hurry, the driver on Brunhilde grinded against the floor, allowing it to regain the momentum it had. Beniko: Sword Stinger! Brunhilde parries Kalliope with great force, sending it to the other side of the stadium and giving Brunhilde enough breathing room. Beniko: Close one... Let's get ready for the next attack, Hilde-san. Quit calling me that, damn it! It's just a nickname though... An idiot like you wouldn't understand how embarrassing it is. Sheesh, calm down girl. Brunhilde and Kalliope circle quickly around the stadium, gaining momentum. Beniko: Brunhilde! Kyouka: Kalliope! Just as the two called out for their Beys, the sound of thunder came and the sky darkened. Thunder? Wait, what? Drops of water came pouring down and intensified immediately. (In unison): Rain? Rain?! Oh boy, this is gonna be a doozy. I haven't seen a Beyblade battle in the rain before! Well, don't worry. Neither has that Kyouka girl as well. That rain is gonna equalize this battle. ... Whatever you say then! The two Beys collided as thunder sounded across the heavens, covering the sound of the two of them fighting each other. Beniko: Brunhilde! Brunhilde sent a powerful attack towards Kaliope but it slipped past once more. Beniko: The water... Brunhilde went for another attack and left behind a spray of water as it moved. Unsurprisingly, Kalliope parried it. Beniko: The rain's gone on for half a minute right now, but this looks like it's gonna get ugly for us. I agree, but this is a chance to beat her too. The boy that repaired me told you about something. Akio? Yes, Akio. Whenever you get a chance in battle, you let it slip through your grasp. Then what do we do? We capitalize on the rain, don't ask me for help right now. Don't worry, I think I've got the gist of it. You're basically jinxing yourself with that statement. Heh, we're risking it all anyways since we're fighting in tough conditions! Kyouka: This is quite interesting, don't you think, Beniko-san? Beniko: Yeah, we're going at it in the rain. Kalliope began its assault, circling around the center and charging towards Brunhilde. Kyouka: Kalliope, let's begin! Kalliope tapped Brunhilde lightly to set it off balance before pushing it against the wall. Sh*t! I'm sliding around like hell, and Kalliope's got me in the wall! Brunhilde fought back, but strangely enough, Kalliope felt rather easy to push around. What the? She's lighter? It's raining, Beniko. Rain doesn't make a Bey lighter... wait, I see now! The tip is smoother than most Drivers, so it's got less traction on the stadium! That doesn't mean you're going to get an instant win though. I know, I know. You don't need to remind me. Then you already know what to do, go get them. Beniko: Roger! Brunhilde! Brunhilde hit the wall on its side on purpose, pushing Kalliope back to the center while causing it to slide way off the mark. Beniko: Next up... 100 slashes! Kyouka: Protect yourself, Kalliope! Brunhilde gleamed in the rain as Kalliope reached the center with some difficulty. Beniko: Apex Shoot! Brunhilde sent a flurry of strong attacks towards Kalliope, knocking it around the center. Kyouka: Stand strong! Beniko: It looks like I'm the winner around here! Now Brunhilde, send it! Brunhilde hit Kalliope from underneath, lifting it upwards. Beniko looked at Kalliope which was mid-air, wondering whether it was going to Burst or land back in the stadium. Come on... just Burst! Kyouka: Raindrops... I could use them. A vortex of wind surrounded Kalliope mid-air, bringing in raindrops towards it. Kyouka: Just what I needed! Not what I needed! Kyouka: Caprice Decrescendo! Kalliope dropped down onto the stadium, spraying water all over the area. I can't see anything! It's a Stamina-type, it's bound to stay in the center! Beniko: Another one, Brunhilde! Apex Shoot! Brunhilde barraged Kalliope with a flurry of attacks, but it's as if some sort of mysterious force was repelling it. Beniko: I don't feel anything! Kyouka: What was that about you being the winner? Kyouka tilted her head and smiled. Beniko: Tch, well it isn't over yet! Brunhilde ditched the attack and instead circled around the stadium with great speed. Beniko: Take this! Brunhilde got faster and cleared the stadium, what Beniko saw next shocked her. This girl... Yeah. She's using the water to defend her! You said this would equalize the battle, right? I did not take a literal whirlpool into account, I'm not a god. Damn it! However, what I did take into account is that you're using an Attack-type. What difference would it make? Use your brain, please. What? Oh! Brunhilde let off a sigh. Have you got any common sense? Let's put that aside right now, thanks for the idea! Beniko: Brunhilde! It's all or nothing now! Brunhilde's driver scraped the floor as it faced the opposite direction. Beniko: Sword Stinger! The swords on the Sword driver would kick off Brunhilde towards Kalliope with great force, clashing with its wall of water. Kyouka: It's futile! I win now! Beniko: That's what I said earlier before you began to kick me and my Bey around! Brunhilde! Brunhilde pushed further into the whirlpool, creating a depression from where she was. Kyouka: It's pushing through! Beniko: It isn't over... Brunhilde pushed even further, the tip of its sword piercing through the large wall Kalliope produced. Beniko: Until it's over! Kyouka gritted her teeth in frustration, while Brunhilde's disc moved and aligned with its sword, intensifying its attack power. Beniko: Gladius Bane! Kyouka: No! Brunhilde's glowing sword pierced through the wall, splitting the whirlpool and crashing into Kalliope with immense force. Beniko: Home... RUN! Brunhilde sent Kalliope flying out of the stadium, and through Kyouka. Burst it... Burst it! It didn't Burst when it flew mid-air, when it landed though, it was on a rock causing it to Burst. ... The two were silent for a while, staring at the results. And while they were, Brunhilde stopped spinning as Kalliope laid on the ground, in the rain. You won, not bad kid. Despite losing, Kyouka merely laughed. Kyouka: Hah, you won! Normally, the WBBA would chalk this up to an Over Finish, but I Bursted nonetheless. Kyouka looked at her with content, and a bit of curiosity. Kyouka: It's your win, but how'd you do it? Beniko looked at her Bey on the floor. Beniko: I guess... it's because of a couple of people supprting me.
