RE: Vari Ares Discussion - BeybladeStation - Aug. 26, 2011

I doubt so, of even on edge.

RE: Vari Ares Discussion - Dan - Aug. 26, 2011

TBH I don't think H145 will do much on Vari, with Lightning it was a differnt story as is much smaller. R145? I dont have it but IIRC it isn't bigger than Gravity so no big difference there either.
I think CH120 is the way to go considering at that height it has no problem with 85-230 while 145 variants are shaky against LTDC (excluding H/R145 obviously) and didn't do as well against MF-H Basalt Kerbecs BD145CS as CH120 did. Adding weight isn't really required here either, MF-H and that's it, IMHO.

RE: Vari Ares Discussion - BeybladeStation - Aug. 26, 2011

It was an extremely versatile variant on Scythe, Scythe was paper and VariAres was the scissors.

LTDC's were useless against any mid height attacker on VariAres with my use. Looking into Gravity's slope, I can see where the R145 derivation could be considered for.

RE: Vari Ares Discussion - Dan - Aug. 26, 2011

Your entire post managed to say absolutely nothing except for this vague reference to a Scythe combination. Perhaps elaborating would help.

RE: Vari Ares Discussion - H8R - Aug. 26, 2011

woah thanks for the tests guys since I should be getting Vari Ares soon any requests (I have almost all parts)
also I don't think BD145 should be tested with VariAres since BD145 REALLY ruins the weght distribution and it doesn't seem to be good on all attack types only LLD really....
also should be getting Blitz and I'll do loads of testing!
(I want Blitz to be top tier!)

RE: Vari Ares Discussion - Bluezee - Aug. 26, 2011

I would be more interested to see this used on S130 considering that it isnt too much higher than CH120. If anyone has it, please try it. I'm still waiting for my Vari. Nice tests Dan!

RE: Vari Ares Discussion - pepsikola - Aug. 26, 2011

In the OP Kei has some results with S130, saying that the hits weren't as powerful as with R145. I think it only did well against Basalt Kerbecs TH170 __ when it was 170 mode, but other than that, variares didnt win that much.

RE: Vari Ares Discussion - Bleik - Aug. 26, 2011

MF-H VariAres UW145RF (Left) VS Earth Bull BD145CS (50%)
VariAres: 18 Wins (18 KO)
Earth: 2 Wins (2 KO)
UW145 helped with the contact but didnt produce enough smash. I recommend UW145 for battles against other attackers.

MF-H VariAres CH120RF (Left) VS Earth Bull BD145CS (50%)
VariAres: 18 Wins (18 KO)
Earth: 2 Wins (1 KO, 1 OS)
CH120 produces extreme smash capabilities against BD145. The first hit would knock over BD145 causing a KO!
CH120RF should be used over UW145/R145RF on MF-H VariAres. However, R145MF should be used over CH120MF.

MF-H VariAres 85RF (Left) VS Earth Bull BD145CS (50%)
VariAres: 13 Wins (13 KO)
Earth: 7 Wins (4 OS, 3 KO)

VariAres on 85RF is deadly! My BD145 is rattling now. Lucky I have 2.

RE: Vari Ares Discussion - pepsikola - Aug. 26, 2011

Ahh nice results shadow scythe!

RE: Vari Ares Discussion - ControL_ - Aug. 26, 2011

ShadowScythe.... 50% is way too much for weak shooting.

You should be trying 15 - 20%.

RE: Vari Ares Discussion - Bleik - Aug. 26, 2011

Sorry! I was trying 50% because I did 20% in the last tests. I was also trying to give enough power for Earth to KO VariAres because the CS is very aggressive.

RE: Vari Ares Discussion - Dan - Aug. 26, 2011

Why are people weak launching?
If you were to face an opponent using that tactic, would you not switch spin directions nullifying the technique?
If anything we should move on to right-spin testing.

Exactly why I don't use left spin.

Left spin on VariAres is as good as useless to be honest.

The only exception is once paired with BD145MF, the OSing factor is in play.

E.G:
MF-H Libra BD145RS - weak launch
v
MF VariAres BD145MF - left spin 100% TR stall

Vari won 15 - All OS
Libra won 0

Vari win percentage 100%
--

Right spin practically does it for weak launching. However left spin BD145MF can OS pretty much all non D variant-based opponents.

RE: Vari Ares Discussion - Bleik - Aug. 26, 2011

I dont have a Beylauncher LR so I would have to do the weak launch technique.
Doesn't weak launching show that the attack capabilities are higher anyway?

RE: Vari Ares Discussion - Dan - Aug. 26, 2011

Really? I honestly get much better results with left-spin. Then again I'm thinking CH120/BD145RF not MF.
Wait .. Did you actually test RS combination vs. MF combination? How is that even surprising? Even with BD145's connecting, RS will still lose no doubt.
I personally believe Left-spin is much better than right with most attackers.. :V

RE: Vari Ares Discussion - BeybladeStation - Aug. 27, 2011

Well, off to test in an hour or so, hopefully recoil vala will help me out and the MF-H for stability.

Seeing from Shadow Scythe's tests, it is really something small, we need more.

RE: Vari Ares Discussion - Shabalabadoo - Aug. 27, 2011

I would like to see one test with VariAres in particular.

MF/MF-H VariAres CH120RF vs MF/MF-H Basalt Bull BD145RSF/RS

Use whatever spin direction you want, whatever ch120 height you want, and whatever of RS or RSF you want/have. Preferably RS though.

RE: Vari Ares Discussion - Dan - Aug. 27, 2011

Scrape!
Yeah, with how I saw Vari handle CS, it would make RS scrape like nothing.
Left spin would batter it up badly.

RE: Vari Ares Discussion - BeybladeStation - Aug. 27, 2011

Hmph, RSF or RS for now is no, can I do that same thing but versus CS?

RE: Vari Ares Discussion - Shabalabadoo - Aug. 27, 2011

But that's already been done.

I said RS or RSF because I haven't seen any yet and I think those are tests that should be done, whether they get good or bad results.

RE: Vari Ares Discussion - BeybladeStation - Aug. 27, 2011

CH120 on versus CS?

I saw S130 and D125, but no CH120..

Nevamind...

But, that's be nice on RSF, yes.

RE: Vari Ares Discussion - Dan - Aug. 29, 2011

Right-spin tests. LOL you probably won't believe this:

MF-H VariAres CH120RF ® vs. MF-H Basalt Kerbecs BD145CS
MF-H VariAres CH120RF win rate: 18/20 (18 KO)
MF-H Basalt Kerbecs BD145CS win rate: 2/20 (2 OS)

lol

MF-H VariAres CH120RF ® vs. MF-H Basalt Kerbecs 230CS
MF-H VariAres CH120RF win rate: 5/5 (5 KO)
MF-H Basalt Kerbecs 230CS win rate: 0/5

Yeah. Vari4lyfe.
might be my last testing guise.

RE: Vari Ares Discussion - BeybladeStation - Aug. 29, 2011

I've seen the first one in person, and I got a 20/20 for it.

I love VariAres, especially MF VariAres [RIGHT] BD145RF. Tests, I presume?

MF VariAres BD145RF VS. MF Basalt Bull GB145CS
VariAres Win%age: 100%
Bull Win %age: 0%

RE: Vari Ares Discussion - BeyCenter - Aug. 31, 2011

Yeah, You killed me with that combo. I may try GB145 on this and test that.

RE: Vari Ares Discussion - Fury - Sep. 02, 2011

i noticed that at 145 height it does have problems hitting high heights like 230 sometimes. and withouth the mf its movement is much nicer as its not weighed down so much. heres 1 test. i post more later.
VariAres R145RF Vs. Scythe Kronos 230WD.
both right spin. string launcher. scythe launched first.
variares: 12 wins (12 ko's)
scythe kronos: 8 wins (2 ko's)
variares win rate: 60%
though against a stamina type variares was still able to make some amazing ko with a few coming towards the end of the match.
