He became too concentrated on winning instead of enjoying battles. If real life worked like that, a lot of people would have dark resonance lol.

Phi DID say that Aiga learned the art of breaking beys from Phoenix.
This was said by TrainiacJ from the Resonance thread I made a while back. He made a pretty good explaination of it too.
"Also I feel like it's worth mentioning that the whole dark resonance thing isn't necessarily the bey overtaking the user, it's more the connection between blader and bey getting corrupted by the blader's emotional state. The biggest examples of this are Shu (where he was being driven by his anxiety over not being able to win and being manipulated by Ashram) and Aiga (in which he's manipulated by Phi similarly to how Shu was taken advantage of by Ashram). Both cases are more about the blader's mental well-being slowly deteriorating and loosing sight of what's important as opposed to "ooga booga dark power" like some suspected was the case when these eps aired, haha. Aiga himself trapped himself, by being too obsessed in winning instead of having fun. (The way he says "Why is he smiling?" in the battle between Hyde and Valt indicates that he is all for blading to WIN not to have FUN. Similarly, Red Eye was obsessed about winning against Lui and Free, we took the wrong path which leads Spriggan to control him because the bond between blader to bey wasn't there. Same goes with Aiga.)

We all know it was his chronic constipation causing the dark power. Look at him trying to squeeze somethin' out every time he calls up the dark power. He looks overjoyed when he beats someone cus he squeezes a bit out every time he wins. He must have almost finished when he beat Valt cuz he didn't have much to squeeze out after, which causes him to loose to Shu, heartz and phi.
