WBO Organized Play - Public Tournament Data Archive [We need your help!] - Kei - May. 11, 2015 Hey everyone, Seeing as the WBO OP Tournament Results Spreadsheet Template has recently become mandatory for submission of tournament results, I figured I would post another piece of the puzzle to help you guys understand why we are doing this. WBO Organized Play - Public Tournament Data Archive View & Download it Here To download: File -> Download As -> Microsoft Excel (.xlsx) As I mentioned in the template thread, there is a Winning Combinations Archive that we want to start keeping up to date: (Apr. 09, 2015 4:08 AM)Kei Wrote: Winning Combinations Archive But it doesn't end there. We also have the following spreadsheets:
The spreadsheet linked to at the top of this post displays the sheets for the tournament list, hosts, and winning combos. I've also just recently added columns for Results, Funds, and Winning Combos (these are not complete/up to date yet) to the Tournament List sheet so that we can also transition out our current practice of manually updating the BeyPoints Queue thread. Ideally in the future I think we will link to this spreadsheet in the OP of that thread and update the spreadsheet instead. "What are those numbers listed for the Hosts?" You also might be wondering, "What are those numbers listed for the Hosts?". Those are the User IDs. Each member on the WBO is assigned a User ID when they sign up that corresponds to what member they are chronologically. For example, my User ID is 5 because I was the fifth member to join this site. Why do we use User IDs instead of the actual usernames? Because people unfortunately love changing their usernames ... and we know people would freak out if we disabled that feature. This is the only way to make sure each member has a consistent ID throughout time. The easiest way to find these User IDs is to hover of the PM button below any members post: the URL that shows up in the bottom left/right of your screen when you do that (or when you click it) has the User ID appended to it like this: Code: http://worldbeyblade.org/private.php?action=send&uid=5 We need your help! Here's what we need your help with right now. 1. Updating the Tournament List Uwik was the one who first put together this list, but it has not been kept up to date since August/September of last year as you can see. Today I went through the Official Events forum and compiled a list of all of the tournaments currently missing from the list: WBO Tournaments since August/September 2014 (Click to View) I've discovered that there was a few tournaments that Uwik missed adding to the list, so there are some that actually come before the latest ones on there right now (like London, UK: UK Revival Jam on September 20th, 2014). Before I add these to the list however, we need to determine the total participants and total battles played for each one (besides the Upcoming Events, of course). I'm hoping that anybody who has access to the results for these tournaments could help me come up with these values. 2. Re-submit tournament results from Aug 2014-Apr 2015 using WBO OP Results Spreadsheet Template We need the results for each tournament that has taken place since August/September 2014 to be re-submitted using the new WBO OP Results Spreadsheet Template. The complete list of tournaments that need to be re-submitted can be seen below. WBO Tournaments Aug 2014-Apr 2015 for Re-Submission (Click to View) 3. Chronologically order tournaments regardless of format Right now the tournaments are all in chronological order, but they have been sorted by format. In the future there may be a Global BeyRank that combines all formats, so we need to create a master list that chronologically lists all tournaments regardless of format. 4. Add all past Winning Combos to the spreadsheet Future winning combos will be easy to add to the spreadsheet because the new template uses the same formatting, but up until now everything has been posted in the Winning Combinations thread. We need some people to go through this thread and manually enter in each of the past winning combinations chronologically to the best of their ability. There's bound to be some holes along the way, but don't worry about that; just note it and move on. UPDATE 7/4/15: HMS and Limited have been completed. 1234beyblade is working on Zero-G, Mitsu is working on Plastics, and The Supreme One has started Standard. Please feel free to offer them your help as well. If you collaborate, we can get this done quicker! If you can help with any of these things, please post in this thread so that everyone knows who is working on what! And if you're reading this and are not an Organizer, feel free to PM me and let me know if there's anything you want to help with. When we get these things updated, you can upload a separate spreadsheet to Google Drive, link to it here, and I will then go ahead and copy/paste the new information into the spreadsheet above (which is View Only so that people don't mess with it). WBO OP Tournament Results Thread: Coming Soon We will also most likely be opening a thread shortly where hosts must publicly post a link to their submitted results. This accomplishes a couple things: 1. Makes it easier to track down the results for tournaments. Right now they are hidden in the PMs or e-mails of multiple Committee Members, so it is difficult for a single person to find information on a given tournament without having to correspond with someone else to find it. 2. Allows for the community (particularly the participants at each tournament) to spot any errors before we do, allowing the host to correct them before the tournament is actually processed. It's always frustrating processing a tournament, finding an error, then having to re-process it. And besides, technically hosts should already be posting their results publicly (on the Event Guide, page 7, it states that all results must be PMed to Committee and also posted in the official tournament thread). We are just going to enforce it more now and consolidate everything into one thread instead. Future BeyPoints System Upgrade Just as a refresher, some of what I said about the BeyPoints System upgrade we are working towards is still relevant to this discussion: Kei Wrote:The end goal we are shooting for in enacting this is automated batch processing in the massive BeyPoint System upgrade we are working on. If we have a standardized spreadsheet for submitting results, on the backend of the new BeyPoint System we will be able to upload the spreadsheet and have the results inputted automatically! This is one of the features we are most excited about, as you can imagine haha. It will drastically reduce the wait time for tournaments in the BeyPoints Queue because manual entry of each username for each results will have been eliminated from our work load. We are even hoping to allow hosts to 'pre-process' the results with a spreadsheet, and submit them to a queue for us to review before applying to the rankings for real. A lot of how things will work moving forward is going to depend upon how the BeyPoint System upgrade is going to be structured, but my hope is that we can create an integrated system that combines/automates/links aspects of not only BeyPoints processing, but the BeyMap (Events Layer specifically), Upcoming Events box on the index, the Official Events forum, Credits, and Faces. As I'm sure you can guess when you think about all of these things combined ... it is a daunting task. Everything we do right now has to be entered manually; the goal is to eliminate as much of that as possible and make the posting, advertisement, and processing of events quicker than ever before. That's a lot to take in, I'm sure ... If you guys have any questions please let me know! We're also happy to listen to any suggestions. edit: 9,000th post! Almost over 9,000 haha. We therefore need help with Standard, Zero-G, HMS, and Plastics winning combinations. I don't think it should take anymore than an hour and a half, realistically, so I can probably get this done sometime tonight. It'd be cool if we can get some other volunteers to do other formats, though! And also, Kei, just to add on to the Tournament List: we had 22 battles at The Leaves Have Fallen and Frost Approaches, 56 battles and 11 attendees at Midnight's Birthday Bash, 38 battles and 9 attendees at Gotta Revive the Sway, 36 battles and 9 attendees at LIMITED BEYBASH and 48 battles and 10 attendees at Sway Central. If my memory serves me as correct, we had 12 attendees at both BEYBLADE NEVER STOPS and BEYBLADE TOURNAMENT, 17 attendees at End of the Era and 7 at March Beyhem. Hoping to help out with any other things you need. I just added the data from the tournaments you hosted. I'll find the results for the others later to get the exact numbers for those. RE: WBO Organized Play - Public Tournament Data Archive [We need your help!] - Mitsu - May. 12, 2015 Just out of curiosity, I can't seem to find the winning combinations for Better Late Than Never's Limited tournament. Would it be fine if I were to just simply add it in later if I manage to find it? RE: WBO Organized Play - Public Tournament Data Archive [We need your help!] - LMAO - May. 16, 2015 I have just started doing Zero-G format for this, just letting everyone know. RE: WBO Organized Play - Public Tournament Data Archive [We need your help!] - Mitsu - May. 16, 2015 After spending hours of my day on the Limited spreadsheet, it is now complete! I noticed a couple of missing combinations though. Here's what I wasn't able to find after searching both the Winning Combination and tournament threads. (Click to View) So, even despite the events taking place quite a long time ago, I'd appreciate it if @[Tech], @[Burn Rock Virgo], @[Blader Connor], @[Sniper], @[Thunder Dome], @[Stormscorpio1], @[geetster99], @[Yuko Ray14], @[.:Libra:.], @[Time], @[*Pokemon*] and @[LikeABoss921] can clear up whatever's missing of their's. It'd great if others who were at the events could help out and try to remember, too! Also, @[Dark_Mousy] - Do you plan on waiting till after Anime North to post North Carolina's TBR Qualifer winning combinations? That's the plan, since Geetster99 and myself will be at Anime North. Everyone else has pretty much kept them quiet until after AN. so.... RE: WBO Organized Play - Public Tournament Data Archive [We need your help!] - Mitsu - May. 16, 2015 What about Titan Tite, do you have his? I think it should be fine to post, seeing as he's not attending AN. RE: WBO Organized Play - Public Tournament Data Archive [We need your help!] - Kei - May. 16, 2015 Thanks so much for that Mitsukuni! I've copied the info from the spreadsheet you sent me and added it to the main spreadsheet from the OP (this one: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/132D0H3uA_PUbbwQDksyi5OOCBZkYNxpMkPLPj8LPYfk/edit?usp=sharing). If you make any updates, let me know. And to remind everyone else: I still need help with number 1 and 2 from the OP, and the HMS, Plastics, and Standard Format winning combos spreadsheets. RE: WBO Organized Play - Public Tournament Data Archive [We need your help!] - Kei - May. 16, 2015 @[Dark_Mousy], could you please post the winning combos for Thunder Dome and Stormscorpio1 from the NC Qualifier last year? Can't recall if you PMed them to us or not, but they were not posted publicly in the Winning Combinations thread. Only geetster99 posted his. RE: WBO Organized Play - Public Tournament Data Archive [We need your help!] - Dark_Mousy - May. 17, 2015 I'm searchin through all of my stuff. But so far I'm not finding anything. RE: WBO Organized Play - Public Tournament Data Archive [We need your help!] - Kai-V - May. 17, 2015 Hm, I only have private messages from Stars last year essentially about a second Maryland qualifier, but most of them in June while we also required hosts to submit everything before we could reimburse travel expenses, so it would have needed to be before May. RE: WBO Organized Play - Public Tournament Data Archive [We need your help!] - Mitsu - May. 18, 2015 Thunder Dome was able to recall his winning combos for the qualifier, so now we only need Stormscorpio1's, Dark. I was also able to get Pokemon's clear wheels used for June BeyBash, so both were added in to my spreadsheet. EDIT: Didn't add in Revive The Game's Fame up until now, seeing as they weren't in the Winning Combinations thread. This is the prime reason why others should post winning combos there rather than in the tournament thread. This information could have easily not been added to the spreadsheet had of I not came across the thread. I'm surprised by how relatively complete the list is (I'm guessing it'll be a little bit worse for the Standard and Zero-G sheets). I've added your updates to the main sheet linked to in this thread. Hopefully we can fill in the remaining holes soon ...
