thats not rubber, its blades that can pop out. You're seeing the image with the blades out.
And now I just realized Dragon has gold paint and rainbow stickers on top. Nice reference to Gold and Rainbow Turbo.

I think it has something more to do with the ring expanding in battle, with the more launches you get.
That could actually work too since “strong shock” could also mean launch. Man, this is a very interesting and controversial gimmick.
Honestly, after seeing how beautiful and awesome
the new dragon is with it’s colourful intricate details like the rainbow stickers and red/white awakening blades and how cool it’s new gimmick is in general, I change my mind about being disappointed in this release and I’m definitely happy
I am really hoping this new dragon is good, and it looks like the wings popping out will help it. It’s really just about how much recoil this thing gives, and it’s design looks aggressive enough, but I’m still not sold that this will be good in attack as the blades on the sides seem to cover up the large points of attack. We will see when it releases though.

Honestly I don't think theres enough room for a spring gimmick. I still think its more likely, that the layer will gradually expand in battle.

yes there is, the blades could just be spring loaded and launch other beys. I think its more likely instead of slowly coming out they'll just come out when Dragon is hit hard enough, and also be able to rebound while out.
or it could be that the blades come out with a hit so hard they rebound other beys
I guess maybe this wont be a meta release since the shape may contradicts

They'd have to heavily nerf the tempest ring in order to add that. There would have to be at least 2 layers on the ring itself, but there would also have to be springs and a locking mechanism in the ring itself.

SO what? Having them shoot out would work better in battle. slowly coming out isn't as appealing, and while they're in the middle of coming out they can barely do anything. Them shooting out during (battle or at least just coming out without an impact) makes more sense imo.

Yeah, it possible. And its more appealing so TT can make appealing trailers. We already know they will come out. Yeah, maybe they wont come out super fast and deal lots of damage, but coming out slowly just doesn't seem likely to me. Even if the wings used centrifugal force it should still come out at a decent speed.
reminder it says it awakens with a strong shock. If its a strong shock, they would just have the blades come out slowly.

Bringing up valid points, but this just loops back around to my first post on this topic, about how it would be too much to fit in a ring.
Now I imagine it'll be something like a expandable plastic, but then again Its all just speculation at this point.
