Can't wait for the tournament in a few hours, I am super excited to be able to participate.
So am I! Regardless of whether or not we can get 8, it's going to be a great time!
A few words before this afternoon: I should be at the park by 2:30pm and recommend that everyone who intends to participate aim to arrive before 3:00pm since we will begin as soon as Deathscyther arrives (around 3:15 and no later than 3:30). I haven't been to this park before so I don't know what the layout is like, but I plan on setting up close to the covered area, which appears to be near the playground. I will post in this thread as soon as I get there and find a place to set up. Feel free to PM me for my phone number if you're worried about finding our location. Additionally, it would be extremely helpful to me if anyone who has one could bring a Takara Tomy Burst stadium since I only have one, and any extra launchers or beys that you would be willing to share with other players. See you soon!

I had one but it got badly damaged from extremely exessive use, so I don't have a viable one, hopefully some of the other members have a few so we can use a few stadiums.
I'll bring a Super Control stadium & a BB-46 so we'll have something for free play, but it would certainly help speed the tournament up if we had a second Burst stadium to use.
Good luck! I know this'll turn out amazing. Smile
I hust got off work and now waiting for my friend to come get me from work.
Alright guys! I just arrived and the actual park is a couple minutes away from Barnes Rd S. I would suggest going to Curtis Lovelace Park near 2905 Parental Home Rd, or making a right where the directions end, and continuing down the road past the elementary school. The playground and a gazebo where we're setting up will be on your right.

I've updated the OP with the new address.
I put the new address onto my friend's GPS, we're about to turn onto Park Avenue to get to I295, we won't be too much longer.

Awesome! Let me know when you get here! Looks like the showing won't be as great as we expected lol

I'm at the gazebo by the playground with a WBO sign up.
The tournament was fun, even with the lack of participants Smile.
Had a great time at today's event! For some reason, several of the users that registered for the event didn't show, but we had just enough for a mini club format tournament. Despite not being able to host a ranked event, having a smaller crowd gave us the opportunity to play around with the combos we used, and we even had a few spectators :) Results will be announced shortly, but here's the picture of the group–Deathscyther04 and his friend, Alex02, and myself!

A shame to see so many people not showing up, but good to see that you made the most of a bad situation anyway! Hope you all enjoyed it! And nice picture as well Tongue_out

As a reminder to those who didn't show up; if you cannot make it to a tournament you've signed up for, please let the organiser know in advance. No-shows can end up ruining a tournament (and in this case, even Club Format became a stretch to do).

Absolutely. Honestly I would kind of like to see a penalty enforced for repeat no-shows, since it can be quite inconvenient for the host and players who do follow through with attending the event. On a similar note, the number of brand new accounts that haven't posted but marked themselves as "joined" concerns me. I like this new feature, but I hope that it doesn't become an issue for hosts going forward when they rely on these accounts as confirmed attendees.
I believe some form of penalty does already exist, though I'm not sure what it is. @[Bey Brad], @[Kai-V]; can one of you confirm?

At some point in the future, we're planning for users to receive reminders about tournaments they've signed up for, which should help in case any who registered did forget about the tournament. I'm sure we'll also be discussing what more we can do to prevent situations like this as well.
Honestly, I'd have gone, but restrictive parents are restrictive. Uncertain

Understandable. I was not so much referring to you as I was to the people who marked themselves as attending leading up to the day of the event, so no worries. Wish you could have been there though :)

I get that, I'm just saying I wish I could have been to mitigate the lack of players

I am not sure what the exact percentage is based on the new rules, but for sure we do not fool around with repeat no-shows and they will be warned. If we find out that they are empty accounts that only get used to fake-join tournaments, we can simply ban them.

Personally I doubt that those people all just forgot: we have had a lot of people voting in polls they were completely not involved in, for instance. And like in the monthly giveaway, the guidelines are clear in the first post but this month we got a ton of entrants who had no Blader Passport.
Alright guys, the results are in! Deathscyther was our winner, going 3-0 in our Round Robin Deck format. Given our size, the event was quite short (the deck round robin being just 15-20 minutes), but we played for at least an hour. That being said, it might be worthwhile to find a way to make club format events longer, especially when the number of players can be as few as four.

I'm glad you guys ended up having enough to do Club Format. Smile Thanks for the feedback! I understand the desire to want and try to make events like this last longer, but in this scenario you have to consider that this event was played with the minimum number of players, so it inevitably would be the shortest possible version of what Club Format can offer.

I also think that the intention of Club Format more than anything else is to provide some level of structured play and incentive for players to get together and have fun together casually and still have it count for something on the WBO; so the fact that you guys ended up playing with each other for fun for at least an hour afterwards sounds to me like it was a success in that respect!

That said, we of course can try thinking about ways to make the events slightly longer with four participants, but we want to be careful to not over-complicate the rules with exceptions.
No, I think they played for only an hour overall, and that was due to them not knowing if the Round Robin they did had to be Deck Rotation or not, so they just doubled what they did in case hah. That being said, congratulations on hosting and having participated in our first Club Format event!

Ah, okay. Well, the Organizers' Guide does explicitly state you can choose between "Unranked Winning Streak Format" or "Unranked Round Robin Deck Format". In any case, doing the round robin again for fun doesn't hurt haha. And the reason the RR has to be Deck Format is to make the event longer and more strategic given the low number of participants.

and Kai-V More or less–we knew there had to be a deck rotation round robin, but weren't sure whether that would serve as the "finals" after a normal round robin like it does in the other formats. Didn't want to use the winning streak format this time around, so we stuck to that and just did a few extra matches. Everything appears to have worked out though~

And thanks! It was a fun event despite having a few bumps along the road :) Club Format is easily one of my favorite additions to the WBO this year.
I'm glad I was able to go to the event and be able to participate, I am still super surprised that I won, and glad I met the awesome person who hosted the event, hopefully the next one she hosts will be just as fun.
@[The Supreme One], I think your spreadsheet was already done except that it contained the two tournaments you did, so can you just post the final spreadsheet here before the end of the week?
