Hey guys! I've noticed something in the last few days. Balro is one of my favorite wheels, and I love it when it is synchromed with itself, but I have been looking around and the only place someone tried it with itself on a rubber attack tip was in it's testing thread, and it was only tested once! I LOVE balro balro on R2F/RF, so I decide to do some tests and put it out there. Thanks guys!
ATTENTION!: These test were done with a WORN R2F, just out of its prime. The OSes that you see are much less likely to happen with a newer performance tip. It will be significantly harder for this combo to OS with a prime/new one. It will also have greater attack power when switched out with a prime/new one. It would be great if you guys could test this out with a better R2F. Thanks! (I also spelled results as resluts in the poll. Sorry 'bout that! )
The concept:
The concept of this combo is simple. Hit stuff really, really hard until it flies out of the stadium. This combo can have an extrodinary ammount of smash, but the launch is very precise and requires a lot of practice. It is not very good at KOing late. However, if launched right, it can prove to be a very effective attacker while its spin velocity is still high. Although I am not suggesting that this combo is near top-tier, I thought that Balro deserved a little more consideration for attack.
The launch is absolutely crucial to this combo's performance. You must use a deep-banking sliding-shoot. The combo must not slide all the way to the wall. Just a slight push forward. If done correctly, balro may lean over and hit it's opponent at an angle when contact is first made, resulting in a massive release of force. Though this is kinda hard to pull off, it is stunningly effective.
This combo can also be switched between 120 height and 145 height. Believe it or not, I have found that 120 actually works slightly better for raw smash. I only use 145 for dealing with E230 or other tall tracks. This combo seems to be seriously degraded in terms of performance when it is not tightened, and it can come unscrewed very easily. Therefore, I suggest tightening this combo all the way after every single spin.

Tests:
Benchmark:
Flash Orion GB145R2F vs. Reviser Reviser BD145RDF
Prime R2F. Pretty worn RDF. Reviser launched first on all launches.
Orion: wins, 14/20 (All KO)
Reviser: wins, 6/20 (All OS)
Flash Orion GB145R2F win rate: 70%
Allright, I don't know if I got really lucky, or if my launch was spontaneously awesome today, but flash crushed it. (This really did happen! but I don't think my launch is usually this great. I would usually hit a 55-60% win rate against this. )
Vs. Defense:
Balro Balro CH120R2F vs. Reviser Reviser BD145RDF
worn R2F. Almost brand new RDF. Balro at 120 height. Reviser launched first on all launches.
Balro: wins, 20/20 (12 KO, 8 OS)
Reviser: wins, 0/20
Balro Balro CH120R2F win rate: 100%
This would probably not OS reviser with a new R2F, but not sure.
Balro Balro CH120R2F vs. Reviser Reviser BD145CS
Worn R2F. Worn CS. Balro at 120 height. Reviser launched first on all launches.
Balro: wins, 20/20 (16 KO, 4 OS)
Reviser: wins, 0/20
Balro Balro CH120R2F win rate: 100%
Again, OSes were due to R2F's wear.
Balro Balro CH145R2F vs. Reviser Reviser E230CS
Balro, wins, 20/20 (8 KO, 12 OS)
Reviser: wins, 0/20
Balro Balro CH120R2F win rate: 100%
Need I say it again?
Vs. Attack:
Balro Balro CH120R2F vs. Flash Orion GB145R2F
Both R2Fs worn. Balro at 120 Height. Beys alternated launching first.
Balro: wins, 12/20 (All KO)
Orion: wins, 8/20 (All KO)
Balro Balro CH120R2F win rate: 60%
Balro's weight won it, but not by much.
Balro Balro CH120R2F vs. Wyvang Wyvang SA165R2F (not attack mode??)
Both R2F's worn. Beys alternated launching first.
Balro: wins, 12/20 ( 10 KO, 2 OS)
Wyvang: wins, 8/20 (2 KO, 6 OS)
Balro Balro CH120R2F win rate: 60%
By request from Diblee123. This combo wasn't actually half bad. It had a sort of anit-attack effect. It did pretty well.
Vs. Stamina:
Balro Balro CH120R2F vs. Phantom Cancer AD145WD
worn R2F. Balro at 120 height. Cancer launched first on all launches.
Balro: wins, 18/20 (All KO)
Cancer: wins, 2/20 (1 KO, 1 OS)
Balro Balro CH120R2F win rate: 90%
Cancer's two wins were both due to wall saves.
Vs. anti-attack:
Balro Balro CH120R2F vs. Diablo Kerbecs BD145RF
Worn R2F. New RF. Balro at 120 height. Beys alternated launching first.
Balro: wins, 12/20 (4 KO, 8 OS)
Kerbecs: wins, 8/20 (4 KO, 4 OS)
Balro Balro CH120R2F win rate: 60%
It handled anti-attack pretty well for an attack type, actually.
Vs. Left-spin:
Balro Balro CH120R2F vs. Wyvang Dragooon SA165R2F (Attack mode)
Both R2Fs worn. Balro at 120 height. Beys alternated launching first.
Balro: wins, 0/20
Dragooon: wins, 20/20 (All OS)
Balro Balro CH120R2F win rate: 0%
Dragooon totally ran over this thing. I tried it at its 145 height, and it did even worse.
Balro Balro CH120R2F vs. Reviser Dragooon BD145RDF
Worn R2F. Almost brand new RDF. Balro at 120 height. Dragooon launched first on all launches.
Balro: wins, 8/20 (All KO)
Dragooon: wins, 12/20 (All OS)
Balro Balro CH120R2F win rate: 40%
It didn't do too great against left-spin defense. However, it may have hit a higher win rate with a better R2F.
Balro Balro CH120R2F vs. Reviser Dragooon SA165WD (didn't have EWD. Sorry )
worn R2F. Balro at 120 height. Dragooon launched first on all launches.
Balro: wins, 18/20 (All KO)
Dragooon: wins, 2/20 (1 KO, 1 OS)
Balro Balro CH120R2F win rate: 90%
Dragooon's wins were both crazy wall saves. I just realized that these results are identical to the results from Phatnom Cancer AD145WD. That's kinda funny.
Balro Balro CH120R2F vs. Wyvang Dragooon BD145RDF
Dragooon launched first on all launches.
Balro: wins, 10/20 (9 KO, 1 OS)
Dragooon: wins, 10/20 (All OS)
Balro Balro CH120R2F win rate: 50%
My tests seem to be cursed with wall saves. Dragooon got quite a few. I don't know if it was wyvang, or if my launch was just better this time.
Balro Balro CH120R2F vs Reviser Dragooon SA165RDF (normal mode)
Dragooon launched first on all launches.
Balro: wins, 0/20
Dragooon: wins, 20/20 (19 OS, 1 KO)
Balro Balro CH120R2F win rate: 0%
Despite it's great ability to KO, this combo seems to have a serious problem with left-spin defense. Though it can take down stuff like Reviser Reviser BD145RDF even with a worn R2F, it just can't seem to KO left-spin defense consistently. Dragooon was a combo from another thread of mine, and is built to be a left-spin defense/spin equalizer that is immune to "push" KO. It completely crushed Balro.
