Why are there classes on a Saturday, right close to Christmas when everybody else is on the damn winter holidays already ? Seriously ?

Most Colleges are on or about to go on break at this time. But public schools are still in for another week or two.
Public schools cannot possible continue on the very week where Christmas and Christmas Eve are.

Here they are getting out December 22nd. They go back to school January 2nd. Ill be out of work for the week kids are out of school.

Major Colleges/Universities are finishing up this week.
My classes are on a Saturday and are not mandatory but once you've signed up, you have to go every Saturday except certain days given off and the Saturday of this tournament is not off
I would've taken a day off but I just can't
I might I will PM U
Just post here if you are going, don't PM me.
Sorry to hear Beychamp76, although most people take SAT and not PSAT classes...I would know, I've tutored for the SAT before.
So is it going to be held at the Bandshell?
At this rate, most likely. I'll give it another day or two, and if the prediction stays I shall change the location and add corresponding pictures.
change me to confirmed
Alright, updated the list. Good to see you coming, and hopefully the maybes will become confirmed members.

As for the whole weather thing, the forecast is showing partly cloudy, but with no rain. The temperature is still very low, so dress warmly, but luckily for us we can stay at the Heckscher Playground unless noted otherwise.

I can't stress this enough though: DRESS WARMLY. You may be like me and not feel cold with a t-shirt on (which I did today), but when you're outside long enough and your hands start to shake, it's a VERY bad sign. So please, please, please, dress warmly for this tournament!
I'm ready to battle my blades are frost resistant..Count me in
Darn, I lost my internet connection 2 weeks ago and just got it fixed. wish I could have known and called out at TRU. Have fun guys.

Don't forget, NJ and NYC got hit pretty badly by Hurricane Sandy. Some institutions are "making up" for that week off from school with extra lessons and extended class days. Some.

Edit:

Anyway, I've done this a few times in past NYC tournaments, but let's go over a couple of things. Oh, for the record, I'm not going. But the advice I give really shouldn't be ignored.

While Ga covered Stealing, do be mindful of who you're lending your items to. The best way to keep your items safe and in working condition is to not lend your items at all. That means launchers and parts; do not be easily trusting and always keep a sense of caution if lending your stuff. Hound on the people who you lent your stuff to, and if they claim that they haven't, do not hesitate to report them to Ga or Cyber. If you're leaving before the person you lent your stuff to, make sure to get it back before going. If you're borrowing someone's item, please be courteous and return them to the owner immediately before you leave, or to the tournament hosts (Ga or Cyber) if that person is gone. Also, and especially, please be respectful to the items you are borrowing. They're not yours, so don't treat it like yours. Meaning no chewing on launchers and no launching Beyblades into asphalt/concrete.

There are places around Central Park to get food. In the Time Warner Center at Columbus Circle (across the fountain and the big globe), there's a Jamba Juice and a Whole Foods downstairs. Down 8th Ave are a Wendies, McDonalds, Chipotle, and other fastfood restaurants. Remember that hot dog vendors are horrendously expensive, so if you want to save money or get your money's worth, go to one of these places or bring your own food. Thank you.
Put bladerx27 as a maybe

Thanks for reiterating Jimmie. I'll add this to the OP.

The list has been updated again. Don't forget to tell your parents about this early at least so they can inform you otherwise or remember to make plans around this, especially since this weekend is the weekend before Christmas and first weekend of Winter Break.

All you have to say is you're going and that's it; the host of the tournament will see and put you as an attendee.
I'm definitely coming. Sign me up!!!
hmmm sounds fun : count me in!!
It would suck if it started snowing. If it does, then I can't come. I'm going by train and you know what happens with snow and trains...

Pretty sure it's not going to snow the forecast says it will be like 40 Degrees and mostly cloudy.
