Young Ethan Lake wakes up as a stream of sunlight shadows over his face. He sits up with a yawn and grabs his alarm clock. "Eleven thirty?! Man, I hate it when I sleep in!" Ethan exclaimed, picking up his bey, Wind Leone DF145BS off his nightstand. "Ethan, you awake yet?" Ethan's dad called up. "Yeah, and thanks for waking me up!" Ethan called out sarcastically. Ethan hopped out of bed, got dressed, and grabbed his light blue launcher grip. Ethan ran downstairs after he slipped on his belt with his dark blue Bey-Case. "Ethan, what's the hurry?" Ethan's dad asked. "I'm suppose to meet my friends at the park today," Ethan replied. "Why so early though?"
"Because, there's this really powerful Blader who's looking for a challenge, and this is the only time he's available." After Ethan scarfed down his cereal, he dashed towards the door, only to trip on his brother, One's skateboard. "One!" Ethan yelled angrily. "Yeah, bro?" One replied coming down the stairs. "Doesn't this belong outside?" Ethan said, grabbing the skateboard. "Sorry, Ethan," One said. Ethan stared at his brother. "Oh, alright. One, want to come battle with the other kids?" Ethan asked. "Sure!" One replied, taking out his Clay Scorpio 145D. "Come on then!" Ethan said enthusiastically. They went off, Ethan by bike, and One via skateboard. By the time they reached the park, a boy was on his knees sobbing. "Whoa! What happened here?" One said surprised. Ethan ran up to the stadium, only to see Rock Bull WD145HF spinning around a shattered bey. "Whoa..." Ethan murmured. In front of the stadium, stood a 15 year-old boy. He wore a long black coat, dark black hair, and dark sun-glasses. They all stood in shock at the blader who tore apart his opponent's bey in battle. "Who's next?" The opposing blader said, showing a evil-like grin. "I'll take you on any day!" One shouted. "One, are you sure you want to battle this guy? He tore apart his opponent, and he's much older then you," Ethan said with a concerned tone. "I got this, bro," One replied. "Good luck," Ethan said. "This twerp is going to battle? What a joke!" The shaded character said, picking up his Rock Bull. He took out a dark purple launcher grip and attached Bull. "3!" One shouted. "2," The shaded character said. "1! Let rip it!"
The beys spun around the small stadium. "Lets go, Scorpio!" One called out. "I have things to do, so lets get this done quick, Bull! Raging Horn!"
Bull rammed into Scorpio, smashing it to the side of the concrete arena. "Finish him Bull!"
One stood in shock. "Am, am I... Loosing?!" One murmured. Bull put more force onto Scorpio.
Crack! Scorpio cracked in half. All the kids stared disappointed and the defeated blader, One. Ethan clenched his fist. "No! Scorpio!" One cried. Ethan was enraged. One fell to his knees, just like the last guy. "One.. It'll be okay..." Ethan said to his brother. Ethan grabbed the shattered parts of Scorpio. The shady character walked away with laugh. "Who is that guy?" Ethan asked one of the kids. "His name is Derek. He goes around challenging bladers, and completely annihilates their beys," The kid replied. Ethan stared off into the distance as Derek walked away. "I will get my revenge, for One, and all the kids who were defeated by this jerk."

Ethan and One walked home together. One was depressed, he's had Scorpio for longer then he could walk. "One, it'll be okay..." Ethan said trying to lighten One's spirit. "I wont be able to blade anymore, and Scorpio was part of me, I can't replace Scorpio," One replied. Ethan stared off into the distance. The sun shown bright, thankfully. "One, I'm going to beat Derek," Ethan said. "Ethan! No, I won't let him destroy your bey too!" One exclaimed. "You wont have to, I will. I'll put an end to his reign of terror, and avenge the blader's beys."
Ethan and One reached their porch, but their were five strange hooded kids, around 14. "Its them..." One of them said. "Get 'em," Another one said. One looked terrified. The five kids surrounded Ethan and One. "Get out here!" Ethan called out. "Ah!" One cried. "Let them go," A familiar voice said. We looked in the direction of the voice, it was Derek. "Y-Yes sir!" The five boys said at once. "You again!" Ethan exclaimed. "What do you want?!"
"I've came for a battle, Ethan Lake," Derek replied, taking out Rock Bull. "Challenge accepted," Ethan said, taking out Leone. "Ethan, don't do this!" One said. "Stay back, One," Ethan ordered. One obeyed and stepped back. "I heard you're pretty good around here, maybe the best? Well, that's about to change," Derek said. "Where do we fight?" Ethan asked, angrily. "Here, the hole place is our battle field."
Ethan looked at the ground. There was dirt covering the arena, surrounded by yellow grass around it. Derek summoned his launcher out of his sleeve and attached Bull. Ethan grasped Leone. He pulled out his launcher out of the case on his belt. "I'll be the referee," One said. "3! 2! 1! Let it Rip!"
The two beys spun around the ground. "Bull! Raging Horn!" Derek called out. Bull charged at Leone. "Dodge, Leone!" Ethan exclaimed. Leone just barely dodged the power attack. A figure stood in the distance. "This, can't be good," The figure said. "Bull! Attack!" Derek shouted. Bull knocked Leone into the air. "No, Leone!" Ethan called out. "Bull! Charge!" Derek commanded. Bull continually charged down Leone. "This can't be good!" Ethan murmured. "Let it Rip!" A voice called out from the distance. A bey struck the area of the battle. Both Bull and Leone were down. The bey flew back to its owner. Derek looked enraged that the battle was interrupted. "Hey! Nobody interrupts my battle!" Derek yelled enraged. He ran after the figure. "Well..." Ethan said, picking up Leone. "At least I wasn't defeated."

Ethan and One lazily sat on the couch, watching cheesing cartoons with a bag of potato chips. "Hey Ethan, shouldn't you be training, incase Derek comes back for you?" One asked. Ethan spat out chucks of potato chips. "Geez, I almost forgot!" Ethan exclaimed. Ethan grabbed Leone, and ran outside. "Let it Rip!" Ethan called out, hitting targets with Leone. One met me outside. "Geez, Ethan, your bey, is hardly even denting those targets!" One said. "I know," Ethan replied clenching Leone. "Hey, all you need is more training," One replied. "I have a better idea, One, do you still have those extra parts?" Ethan asked. "Yeah, why? Are you plaining to make a new bey?" One asked. "If that's what I have to do to win, then so be it."
Ethan and One walked upstairs to One's room. He pulled out a tackle box and opened it, revealing his extra parts. "Bull is a powerful attacker, so maybe..." Ethan said putting together some parts. "I'll make a defense type."
Ethan took apart Wind Leone and carefully chose some parts out of the box. "Counter Leone D125B!" Ethan exclaimed as he put together the parts. "Do you think this will help you defeat Derek?" One asked. "I'm sure I'll beat him this time. I'll make him disband his group and avenge the beys he's broken," Ethan replied proudly. "Alrighty then!"
We grabbed our stuff and headed out the door. "Stop!" A boy exclaimed as he ran in front of us. "Huh?" Ethan said confused. "I know what you're doing, I can't let you fight Derek!" The boy said. "Why not? Are you part of his group?" One replied. "No, I'm doing this for your safety, Ethan and One Lake."
"If you wont let us pass, then I'll have to go through you!" Ethan exclaimed taking out his launcher and Leone. "You asked for it," The boy replied, revealing a Libra C145B from his pocket, along with a green light launcher. "3! 2! 1! Let it Rip!"
Ethan and the boy launched their beys. "Go Leone!" Ethan called out. "Libra! Special Move! Sonic Scale!" The boy called out. "What?!" Ethan exclaimed surprised. Libra's motif appeared above Libra and shacked vigorously, causing the ground to quake. Leone was knocked off balance. "Leone! Attack!" Ethan called out. "You can't defeat Libra with that kind of power!" The boy exclaimed. As the ground continued to quake, Ethan collapsed on the shattering ground, and fell unconscious.
As Ethan woke up, all he saw was darkness. "Wh-Where am I?" Ethan said to himself. "You are here, but yet, you're not. Use your special move, used the wind to your advantage..." A voice said. Ethan woke with a flash. "Leone! Special Move! Lion's Gale!

Leone unleashed a destructive special move, Lion's Gale. "Whoa..." One said to himself. "No! Libra!" The boy called out. Libra was flung in the air. "Finish him Leone!" Ethan called out. The special move's effect wore off. Libra hit the ground, causing a small crater, and Libra stopped spinning. "You did it, Ethan!" One called out with joy. "I lost..." The boy murmured, falling to his knees. Ethan went up to the boy and held out his arm. The boy smiled, and shook Ethan's hand. "Now, lets go fight Derek," Ethan said, grabbing Leone. "Wait!" The boy said. "My name is Jay, could I come with you to see your battle with Derek?" The boy asked. "I guess so," Ethan replied. "But we should probably eat first."
Ethan and One headed home. When One went to open the door, it was locked. "I can't get it open, it must be locked," One said with a frown. Ethan knocked at the door. No answer. "Hmm... Maybe Dad went to get us?" Ethan said. "Maybe," One replied. Ethan stoke a hand into his pocket. "Where'd my key go?" Ethan said, also frowning. One pounded angrily at the door. "One, I don't think he's home," Ethan said. But then, they heard a bang! from inside. Ethan and One gave themselves a stern look, and then both started to pound on the door. "One, I doubt we can open the door by pounding on hit!" Ethan said. "I don't think so either..." One said with a sigh. "But we can do this!" Ethan exclaimed taking out Leone. "Let it Rip!"
Leone slammed into the door, knocking out the latch and unlocking the door. "Nice job, Ethan," One said opening the door. Ethan grabbed Leone and ran inside, only to see their dad being tied up with a bunch of Derek's gang surrounding him. "Dad!" One called out. Ethan just stared at the boys surrounding his father, and took out Leone. The gang took out blue Storm Northern Cross'. One gave a small tug on Ethan's shirt. "We can't fight in here!" One said. "I got a plan," Ethan whispered back at One. Ethan grabbed a rock and through it at one of the boy's heads, angering all of them. "Come on, One!" Ethan said pulling his brother out the door. They ran off. "There's a stadium up ahead!" One pointed out. "Lets lead them over there," Ethan replied. They ran up to the cement stadium. The gang launched their beys into the arena, along with Ethan. "Let it Rip!" Ethan exclaimed launching Leone. The Northern Cross' attacked Leone furiously. "Leone! Lion's Gale!" Ethan called out. Leone spun around quickly, causing a small tornado to occur and knock out the opposing beys. "I'll finish him," A voice said. It was Derek. "Return, Leone." Ethan said, as Leone flew back to his hand. "3!" Ethan called out. "2!" Derek exclaimed. "1 Let it Rip!"
Rock Bull and Leone spun around the stadium. "Go, Bull!" Derek called out. "Attack, Leone!" Ethan called out. "Bull! Raging Horn!" Derek commanded. "Lion's Gale!" Ethan exclaimed. Bull charged at Leone, only to be blown away from the attack, and was rammed into the side. "Leone! Finish him off!" Ethan commanded. Leone smashed into Bull, breaking it apart. Bull shattered, and Derek fell to his knees, holding his head in pain. "Argh!" Derek called out in pain. "Ethan, what's wrong with Derek?" One asked. "I dunno..." Ethan replied picking up Leone. Derek's eyes suddenly turned from fire-red, to dark brown. "Wha- What happened?" Derek asked, with a confused look. Ethan and One gave out a big sigh. "Huh?" Derek said, still confused. "Um... We'll fill you in later," Ethan replied.

"Wait!" Derek called out as Ethan and One walked away. "Uh, yeah?" Ethan replied awkwardly. "Where are we?" Derek asked, looking a bit stupid. Ethan and One gave out a laugh. "What's so funny? I don't even know how I got here," Derek replied angrily. "I'm pretty sure your house is over there," A voice said from the distance, pointing south. "Uh, thanks," Derek replied. Derek grabbed the launcher that had been sitting next to him and got to his feet. Ethan and One looked to the direction of the voice. There was a twelve-year old girl standing there. "Um, hello," One greeted awkwardly. "Hi," The girl replied walking to where we stood. "I heard something strange over here, do you know what it was?" The girl asked. "It was... Nothing," Ethan said, trying to block the view of the wrecked lawn. Then One whispered to Ethan: "What's the point of hiding it?"
"Because, I don't want people to get suspicious."
"Um, ya know, I can hear what you two are saying. There's no need on hiding it, its a bit obvious what happened over here."
The girl held out her hand, and One eagerly shook it. "My name is Lin, what's your guy's names?" The girl said. "My name's Ethan, and this is my brother, One." Ethan picked up Leone, which was still barely spinning. "Wow, you must be a blader!" Lin said eagerly. "Yeah, I defeated Derek a couple minutes ago," Ethan replied. "You beat, Derek?!" Lin exclaimed surprised. "Yeah, he's been causing trouble lately, and no-ones been able to beat him." Ethan replied. Lin took out her bey, Queztalcoatl 85RF. "How about a battle?" She replied with a grim smile. "Your on."

Ethan readied Leone, as Lin readied Queztalcoatl. "3, 2, 1, Let it Rip!" One called out. Ethan and Lin launched their beys onto the ground as they charged at each other. "Go! Queztalcoatl!" Lin called out. Queztalcoatl's beast appeared and lunged towards Leone. "Leone!" Ethan called out. "Leone, Lion Mane Defense!"
Leone's beat also appeared to reflect Queztalcoatl's attack, with a flash of wind. "Ethan! Hurry it up, I'm hungry!" One complained. "O-" Ethan replied being cut-off as a flash of light crashed into the natural stadium, causing a sleep out to both beys. "Huh? What was that?!" Lin shouted. "I dunno," Ethan replied, looking into the distance. The flash flew off. "Does that mean we can go?" One asked happily. "Not yet," Ethan replied picking Leone, who was wedged in the ground. He also picked up Queztalcoatl and handed it to Lin. "Uh, thanks..." Lin said as Ethan handed over Queztalcoatl. "We better be going, but I'll see you," Ethan said, waving as he and One went off into the distance.
Ethan and One entered the house messy house, noticing some shattered glass, and the coach flipped over. "They didn't have to make such a mess..." Ethan murmured. One seemed like he didn't care, as all he did was pull a sandwich out of a lunch box on the counter. "Ethan, you seem off today," One said, shoving a mouth full of his sandwich in his mouth. "Oh, its nothing," Ethan replied, staring at the ground. "Awe you shoore?" One said with his mouth full. "Yes, I'm sure. Wow... You sure are enjoying the sandwich."
Ethan and One entered there messy room, One's clothing everywhere, their beds were a mess, their video games were scattered everywhere, and Ethan could've sworn he saw something in their garbage can. "One, you do relies we share this room, right? Its a mess!" Ethan exclaimed. One stared down Ethan. "Are you sure you're alright?" One asked with a concerned look. "I'm fine!" Ethan shouted angered.

Ethan and One cleaned out there room, but One kept on giving Ethan concerned looks. "Ethan... I'm just concerned for you," One said, tossing a sock into the hamper. "One, I'm fine. Why do you care, anyways?"
One and Ethan finally finished cleaning the torn down room, they left to go to the park. Ahead, there was a large dome shaped building towering over them. The dome was white, with a large gold 'B', symbolizing the WBBA. They walked over to the door, and they pushed open, only to see a bright light towering over them, with kids laughing and playing with their own beys. One looked around, as Ethan battled the first person he saw in an instant. One noticed there was a small side-shop in BeyPark, and he walked over to see what they had. "Maybe I should buy some parts..." One thought as he pulled Scorpio's face-bolt and energy ring from his pocket. One looked back at Ethan, who was having a blast. "Uh- excuse me..." One said to the shop owner. "Have you found something you'd like?" The tall, muscular shop owner said with a kind tone. One looked down at the shiny, see-through display case, full of parts and generic beys. He noticed a shiny Torch Fusion Wheel, and 130HF. "I'd like these," One said pointing to the parts. "Here you go," The shop owner said as he pulled out the pieces and put them into a white paper bag with the same gold 'B' symbol as the building. One shoved his hand into his pocket and took out the exact change. "Have a good day, young man."
Ethan stepped up to his brother. "Hey One, what are you doing?" Ethan asked. One didn't reply, instead he put together Torch Scorpio 130HF, and held it up to his older brother. "You made a new bey?" Ethan asked. "It looks great!"
Then, the door opened. Ethan looked back, and recognized the figure.
It was Lin.

One noticed an unusual happy look in his brother, and made a suspicious look. "Hi, Lin," Ethan greeted as she walked up to him.
"Hi Ethan, how's it been?" She replied. One chuckled a bit, and Ethan gave him a angered look. Before they could continue the conversation, a referee called out an announcement: "Hello Bladers! Next week on Monday we'll be having the qualifier rounds for the USA Championships! Sign up today!" The referee pointed to the counter at the corner of the room with a man behind the counter, and on the counter sat a organized sign-up sheet. One ran up to Ethan and said "Ethan! We must sign up!"
"Sounds like a good idea, I mean, what blader wouldn't?" Ethan replied. "I want to sign up, also!" Lin said enthusiastically. "Lets do this then!"
Ethan, Lin and One went up to the sign-up sheet, and Ethan read it out load. "The tournament will decide who will be competing against the rest of the USA. The team who prevails against the USA tournament, will go on against the world."
"Wow..." One said. "If we beat the rest of the USA, we play against the rest of the world?"
Ethan seemed calm, Lin looked over-the-top happy, and One looked surprised. Ethan picked up the pen, but Lin swiped it out of his hand and signed up. They both laughed, but One just stood there confused. One and Ethan neatly wrote down "Ethan Lake & One Lake." Then, Jay cooly walked into the room, as people cheered for him. "He must be really popular..." Ethan jealously muttered. "Hey Ethan, how about a re-match?" Jay asked Ethan as he walked up to the sign up sheet. "Fine, but I'll just beat you again!"
Everyone cheered as Ethan and Jay walked up to the arena, but then the arena flipped over. "What's happening?!" One exclaimed. "The arenas changing, it happens a lot in matches like this," Lin replied to One in the crowd. The ceiling opened, and where Ethan and Jay stood were were escalated, and were covered by a giant see-through dome. "Ladies and gentlemen! This is the Destroyer Dome stadium!" The referee said. "Are the bladers done with their final adjustments?"
Jay took out Libra, but didn't do anything with it. Ethan tightened Leone, and they both took out their launchers. "3! 2! 1! Let it Rip!" The crowd, along with the referee, exclaimed. Ethan and Jay launched their beys into the dome, and they quickly spun around the dome. "Goooo!!! Libra!!!" Jay exclaimed. Libra spun faster. "Leone! Lion's Gale!" Ethan exclaimed. "Not so fast! Libra! Sonic Blast!" A small twister appeared, but was blown down by the sonic wave. "Leone! Attack!"
"Libra, Sonic Counter!" Libra released a wave of sonic energy that blew back Ethan, knocking him to the ground. Lin gasped. One was wide-mouthed.
Moments latter, Ethan woke up, but not in reality. "Uh?" Ethan looked around, confused since all he saw was darkness. "Evolution..." A voice said. "Evolution?" Ethan said to himself. "Evolution Twister..." The voice said.
Ethan woke up with a shock, and the crowd gave out a sigh of relief. "Enjoy your nap?" Jay cockily said. "Very funny," Ethan said. "Evolution Twister!"
A neon-green tornado appeared in the dome, knocking Libra out of the holes on the top of the stadium. "No... Not again..." Jay said depressed. "Nice job, Ethan!" Lin exclaimed. "You did it, bro!" One called out. Ethan literally jumped out of the Destroyer Dome arena. Jay fell to his knees in agony. "He'll learn, not to be so cocky, then he will gain experience," Ethan murmured to himself. "I'll get you, Ethan Lake... At the tournament..." Jay murmured.

Buzz Buzz Buzz! The alarm clock rang in Ethan and One's room. "Ethan! Ethan, wake up!" One shouted, hitting Ethan with a pillow. "Wh-What?!" Ethan woke up. "Its time for the qualifiers!" One exclaimed. "It is?! Oh man, lets go!"
Ethan and One ran out the door, ignoring breakfast. "Got everything?" Ethan asked as the two brothers ran off. "Yeah," One replied.
The sky was clear, the sun shined, and the air was fresh and energizing. As they ran on, Ethan noticed is brother breathing heavily, and checked his watch. "We have some time, need a break?" Ethan asked. "Uh, sure..." One replied. They sat down at a large rock to catch their breath, but heard foot steps coming up behind them. The two looked up and quickly recognized the figure. It was Lin. "Hi guys, ready for the qualifiers?" She asked. "Yep!" One replied. "Uh... Yeah..." Ethan said, looking at his feet. "Well, okay then! Lets go!"
The three ran off to BeyPark, which was crowded with competitors. Everyone got in their positions, and were ready for the qualifying tournament.
Ethan, One and Lin passed by the competitors easily.
"Next match! Next match, we have Derek and his Aquario DF145FS VS. Jay and his Libra C145B!" DJ enthusiastically called out into his microphone, and the crowd cheered. Ethan stood in shock as his former opponent walked up the stage. "3! 2! 1! Let it Rip!"
The two bladers launched their beys into battle. Ethan, One and Lin sat down in the crowd. Ethan sat in the middle, One sat on the left, and Lin sat on the right. Ethan sat with his eyes peeled on the battle to see if Derek would act the way he did the last time he saw him, be he battled... normal.
"Aquario!" Derek shouted. "Libra! Sonic Assault!" Jay exclaimed. Libra's skeleton beast appeared above the stadium and shot out a purple beam of light. "Oh no you don't, Aquario! Wave Crusher!" Derek commanded. The two moves clashed mid-air. "Whoa..." One murmured. The steam from the two attacks slowly uncovered the two beys, moth were still barely spinning. "Aquario! Finish him!" Derek called out. Aquario unleashed a small wave and knocked over Libra.
"And going to the championship's team is Derek Harris!" The DJ called out. "That means, if we get to the team, we have to be on the same team as Derek?!" One exclaimed. "I guess so..." Ethan replied. "Next up! Ethan and his Counter Leone VS. Roger and his Thermal Raven!"
Ethan jumped down from the crowd and headed to the arena. "Good luck, Ethan!" Lin called out. "You can do it, bro!" One called out.
"3! 2! 1! Let it Rip!"
It was a quick match, Ethan's Leone easily knocked Thermal Raven out of the arena. "Too easy," Ethan murmured. "Wow, Ethan creamed him," Lin murmured. "Whoa..." Lin said to herself. "Whoa! Too quick!" DJ called out. "Next up! Lin and her Queztalcoatl 85RF VS Tanner and Thermal Eagle!"
"Good luck Lin," Ethan said. "Cream this kid!" One cheered.
Lin walked down to the arena. "3! Tw-" DJ was cut off. There was a bang! from the left side of the arena, and someone walked in. He wore a long black jacket, silver glasses, and long black hair. A few guards came up to the man. "You can't be here!" One of the guards said. The man pulled out a launcher, launched a bey, and a skeleton, most likely the Grim Reaper, appeared and attacked the guard. "Whoa..." One said. Ethan jumped off the stands. "Ethan! Wait!" One called out. It was too late, Ethan engaged the reaper.

bang! Their was an explosion from the side of the stadium. A Grim Reaper-like spirit appeared and knocked away some guards. "Whoa..." One murmured. Ethan made a surprised look and thought for a minute. "I must help them," "Ethan, I know what your thinking, please, do-" Lin was cut off when Ethan jumped off the stands, and engaged the reaper.
"Kronos! Reaper's Blow!" The man called. "Let it Rip!" Ethan called out, and launched Leone. "Only a fool would battle me! You will fall, here and now, leave now or suffer," The man said. "Never! Why are you even here?!" Ethan exclaimed. The two beys clashed. "Such, such ignorance. You will fall."
"This can't be good," One said. "Leone! Evolution Gale!" Ethan commanded. Leone's spirit beast roared, and a green twister raged. "You cannot beat me with that power!" The man called. "Kronos! Reaper's Blow!"
Kronos slashed at Leone and Ethan and blew them away. "Ethan!" One and Lin said altogether. The smoke cleared and Ethan was on the ground with Counter Leone barely spinning. "L-Drago!" A voice called out. A red L-Drago R145WB shot down Kronos, and left it barely spinning. There stood a teenager wearing silver armor with a white mask with red marks. L-Drago flew back to its owner's hand. "Wow! Who's that?!" One exclaimed and pointed at the man. Lin didn't reply, but stood down at Ethan.
The armored boy jumped down from the ledge he stood on and went up to Ethan. He gently touched Leone and made it stop spinning. One and Lin hopped down from the crowd and went up the the armored boy and Ethan. "Who are you?" One asked. "I am the Armored Dragon, take care of your friend, we'll need him."
The Armored Dragon once again looked down at Ethan and flew off.

"Wake up, sleepy head!" Lin said. Ethan was was napping after his fight with Kronos. "W-What?" Ethan said after he woke up. They were in Ethan and One's room. "Finally, your wake. Counter Leone D125B didn't sustain too much damage," a voice said. A young boy by the age of ten walked into the room. He was carrying a medium sized tackle-box, and he had thick purple hair, brown eyes, brown goggles, and at his side was a laptop case. "Who's that?" Ethan asked. "This is is Tanner. He's a blader and mechanic. He was in the tournament and one of One's classmates," Lin replied. "Oh."
Tanner set down Leone by my side. "Look good?" Tanner asked. "Wow! Its all shiny and stuff!" Ethan grabbed Leone and stared in awe. "Glad you like it. And 'bout the tournament..." Tanner said. "Yeah, we missed it, didn't we?" Ethan said, looking a bit depressed. "Actually, due to the damage the building sustained from Kronos, they're re-scheduling the tournament!" Lin said. Ethan sighed in relief, and looked down at Leone. "Now, lets go find One."
The three went downstairs and went outside. "Uh, Ethan have you noticed your parents are never home?" Lin said. "Oh my gosh... They are never home..." They kept on walking till they arrived at the neighborhood playground. What they saw there was shocking. A group of older kids were harassing One. "Come on kid!" One of the kids said. "Leave my brother alone!" Ethan shouted. "EWHATRAN!" One shouted, one of the kids was holding his mouth. "Get them!" One of the boys shouted. "Let it Rip!" The others shouted. "Go Leone!" Ethan shouted, launching Leone. "Attack! Queztalcoatl!" Lin called out launching Queztalcoatl. The boy holding onto One brought him to a truck. "Leone! Lion's Gale!"
Tanner took out his launcher grip. It was purple with a silver Angle Compass. He took out a Thermal Eagle 230RF. "Let it Rip!" Tanner launched his bey and it struck the hand of the boy holding onto One. "Thermal Wing!" Eagle started to vibrate and flames shot from the fusion wheel. The boy was shot back and One fell down. "Queztalcoatl, Shooting Star Wings!" Lin commanded. Queztalcoatl's beast appeared and shot yellow stars from its wings. "Retreat!" One of the boys yelled. All of the boys ran off. Tanner went over to One. "What happened?" Tanner asked. "The-these guys attacked me. Apparently, they think I 'know too much'."
Tanner picked up his Eagle. "Well," Ethan said. "At least no-one was hurt."
Ethan and the others were heading back to the Lake's house, until One noticed some and said, "Hey guys, did you notice that sun reflection from over there?"
"Its probably nothing, you can go check it out, if you want," Ethan replied.
"Hmm...." One thought for a moment, and went over to the side walk where he saw the sun reflection. One let out a gasp as he saw what it was. It was a bey. "G-Guys..." One shuddered. "Everything okay, One?" Tanner asked. Before One could reply, one of the boys hopped out of a bush. "One!" Ethan called out. "I don't think we got all of them!" Lin said. The team ran over to One. The boy stood up, and grabbed his bey, a generic bey. "W-Who are you?!" One asked and stepped back a few feet. "I'm not one of the Dark Flare team, the guys who attacked you guys," the boy replied. "Dark Flare?" Ethan said. "Yeah, they knew about One, and they knew he saw them gather at the original qualifiers. They came out to get him, to keep him quite."
The gang exchanged looks, and then Ethan stood up and said, "Well, are we can do now his fight in the tournament, we're not going down. Now, what did you say your name was?"
"Takairu."
"Alright, now I assume you'll be going to the tournament?"
"Yeah."
"Does anyone remember the number of members per team?"
"Four," Lin replied.
Ethan looked into the sky. "Lets get training then."

The gang found a dish and started to train. They had fun, worked hard, and were ready for the tournament. "Ready guys?" Takairu asked. "Yup!" Lin replied. "Lets give it our all!" One exclaimed. "I'm ready!" Tanner held up Eagle. "Lets go," Ethan put his launcher back in his pocket, and the team went off.

The gang left for the qualifier tournament. ~rumble~ "Wh-What was that?!" One exclaimed. "Hmm... It sounds like... Ethan's stomach," Lin replied. "Hehe, I guess we haven't eaten in awhile..." Ethan said. Takairu reached into his pocket and said, "I have some cash, want to stop at the gas station to get something to eat?"
The gang thought for a minute. "Well, I guess we're a bit far from home," Ethan replied. "Yeah, but... Don't you think its a bit gross to eat at a gas station?" Lin asked.
"Where else do we eat then?" Ethan asked. "Wait... Ethan, doesn't Uncle Frank live around here?" One asked. "Oh yeah, he does! Maybe he has something to eat!" Ethan exclaimed. The gang went off.
They arrived at Uncle Frank's house, and knocked on the door.
The door flung open. "Hello?" A man asked. "Uncle Frank!" One exclaimed. "Ethan? One? Who are these guys?" Uncle Frank asked. "Oh, these are our friends. We were on our way to a tourna-" Ethan was cut off by Frank. "I know, I bet you guys are hungry!" Frank brought Ethan and his friends inside and made food for everyone.

The gang say down at the table. Frank sat a hot bowl of spaghetti. "Whoa..." Takairu muttered. "Awesome! Thanks, Uncle!" One exclaimed. Frank smiled and said, "Glad you guys like it, so dig in!"
The team ate, and were now ready to go. "Hey, before you guys go, good luck on the... What's the thing you guys do...? Oh never mind, good luck on your tournament," Frank said.
And they were off, to the tournament, to the world.

"First up! Ethan V.S. Blaine!" The DJ called out. "3! 2! 1! Go... Shoot!" Ethan launched Leone into the arena, while his opponent fired a generic bey. "Go, Leone!" Ethan exclaimed. Leone brought out a barrage attack, and brought the opposing bey to the corner of the stadium. "No!" Blaine shouted. "Keep pushing!" Ethan ordered. The generic bey flew out of the arena. "Its all over! Ethan is going along with Derek into the American finals!" The DJ exclaimed. "Next off, we have 'The Armored Dragon' V.S. One!"
One got up from his seat, and and went up to the arena. The man who defeated Kronos also got up and attached his L-Drago, and pulled out a silver launcher grip, with a LR launcher. One readied his Scorpio. "3! 2! 1! Go, shoot!"
The Armored Dragon seemed calm, but One was tense. What more, the arena started to shake. "There you have it! The Quake Arena! The stadium has magnets below it that move and shake the arena, you must have perfect balance you maneuver around the stadium!" Blader DJ exclaimed. "Scorpio! Blazing Poison Sting!" One commanded. The scorpion beast appeared and tried to crush L-Drago with its tail. "What's he doing? Using his special move already?" Takairu exclaimed. "One's bey is small, he must want to finish the battle before the moving arena knocks him off balance," Ethan replied. "Ah, so the kid has a strategy..." Someone said.
It was Derek. "Scorpio! HIT HIM ALREADY!" One angrily exclaimed. "Ha! You think you can beat me with raw power?!" The Armored Dragon laughed. "L-Drago! Absorbing Strike!"
L-Drago charged Scorpio, and knocked it all the way passed the crowd, and hit the elevated stage Blader DJ was stationed in. One fell to his knees. "W-Why can't I win?! WHY?!" One cried out, and pounded on the floor. L-Drago flew back to the Armored Dragon's hand. He went up to One and patted him on the back and said, "You'll find your true power, some day."

"There we have it! The Armored Dragon has defeated One! The next match is Ethan VS The Armored Dragon!" Blader DJ exclaimed. Ethan gasped. "Ethan, you can beat him!" Lin said. "Go get him, Ethan," Takairu said. Ethan stayed silent, and walked up into the stands. "3! 2! 1!" Blader DJ exclaimed. "Go... Shoot!"
Ethan launched Leone into the stadium. L-Drago quickly made a barrage attack. sploosh! A wave occurred in the stadium. "This is the water arena! Stay dry so your bey doesn't get washed out!" Blader DJ called out "What!?" Ethan exclaimed. The Armored Dragon stood silent. "Err... Leone! Lion's Gale!" Leone's beast roared, and summoned a tornado. It absorbed the water. "Go, Leone!"
"L-Drago, attack!"
L-Drago flew into the typhoon and blew it away. "H-He broke through?!" Ethan exclaimed. "Fine then, Leone! Barrage attack!"
Leone charged into L-Drago, but L-Drago moved away quick enough."L-Drago! Dragon's Flame!"
L-Drago's beast shot flames at Leone. "Leone! Evolution Gale!" Ethan commanded. Leone's attack was just barely quick enough to counter the flames. The two beys landed in the middle of stadium. L-Drago spun around the arena while Leone spun right. "I-Its spinning left!" Ethan gasped. "I have to think of a plan..."
"L-Drago! Finish him!" The Armored Dragon commanded. "I can't lose now... I won't lose!" Ethan shouted. Leone's beast appeared and attacked L-Drago. "H-He hit L-Drago!" The Armored Dragon exclaimed. "Leone! Evolution Gale!" Ethan commanded. A twister appeared and knocked L-Drago to the side of the arena. "Barrage attack!" Ethan commanded. Leone slammed into L-Drago, but was pushed away. "Err..." Ethan muttered. The beys started spinning around the arena again. "This is quite a battle, Ethan. But I'm afraid it will have to end." The Armored Dragon said. "L-Drago! Drain Charge!"
L-Drago lunged towards Leone. "Lin, look at this," Tanner motioned Lin. "You know how L-Drago spins left?"
"Yeah, why?" Lin replied.
"The left rotation of L-Drago can absorb the spin of the opposing bey, it spin-steals. The spin-stealing affect, -Zombie- is greatened by the Core-the rubber peace under the Metal Frame," Tanner said, showing an example on his computer.
"Leone! Dodge it!" Ethan called out. It was too late. L-Drago attacked Leone head on. "Leone! Evolution Gale Shield!" Leone summoned up a twister, and blew out L-Drago. "I-I did it!" Ethan exclaimed. "Its all over! Ethan has over-powered the Armored Dragon's L-Drago, and is going with the team to the U.S.A. finals!" Blader DJ exclaimed. "Good job, Ethan!" Lin called out. "Go get 'em man!" Tanner cheered. "You did it, bro!" One shouted. Without replying, Ethan fell to the ground exhausted.

A few minutes earlier, Ethan woke up in the crowd sitting between One and Lin. He looked up at the board under Blader DJ's elevated stage. It showed Derek, Ethan and... Lin? In the time Ethan was sleeping, she must've made the team. He then looked at the stadium. Takairu was in a match. "Go, Leone!" The opposing blader exclaimed. Ethan looked at the bey. "H-Hey Tanner... Who's that Takairus battling?" Ethan asked. "Oh! You're awake!" Lin said. Tanner analyzed the bey on his computer. "Its a Beat Leone, but it wont show me its performance tip and spin track," Tanner replied. "But, who's the blader, though?" Ethan said. "His name is Reo Claw," Tanner replied. Leone knocked Takairu's bey out of the arena. "No... I-It can't end yet!" muttered Takairu. Reo summoned Leone back to his hand, and walked over to the Armored Dragon, who whispered something in his ear. "I want you to watch over Ethan's team, make sure they get into the World Championship," Reo nodded, then walked away. "That's it! Now, Reo will be going on the team as a regular, and Takairu will be the substatute!" Blader DJ said. "Huh?" Takairu said. "I'm going to be... I substatute?"
Blader DJ went up to Ethan, Lin, Takairu and Reo and handed them a small card with the WBBA symbol on it. "Here's your pass to be the U.S.A. Championship. Good luck to you all!" DJ said. He also handed a 3 Segment launcher grip and a Light launcher 2 to each of us. We put the passport on the card slot of the grip, and we headed off.

Two hours latter
"Okay, the tournament coming up, so we will train untill nightfall," Reo commanded. "But its 12 pm..." Complained Takairu. "Quit your complaining, you want to win, don't you?!" Said Reo. "Who assigned you leader, anyways?" Asked Ethan. "The WBBA, actually," answered Reo with a grim look on his face. "Mmm..." Ethan thought for a moment. "Now, get training!" Reo started to look angry, and everyone listened to him, other then Ethan and Derek. "Get to work, you two," Reo said. "I don't take orders from a kid with short pants," Derek replied. Reo ignored the rude comment from Derek, and handed out a fully metal bey to Lin and Takairu. "Launch these heavy beys and improve your balance and launch." The weight of the beys were enough to knock both of them over. "Eh, this'll be easy anyways," said Derek. Derek grabbed one of the metal beys and launched with ease. "Whoa..." Ethan mutured shock, and took one of the metal beys.

Eight hours latterThe team fell down to their knees exhausted, and dripping in sweat. The sun was setting, and they could hardly move their body. "H-H-Happy *cough* now?" Takairu muttered. "You did well today. We'll stay at training camp for a few more days, and after that we'll get going, first stop is New York, to battle the team there," Reo said. "Sounds good," Ethan said, pushing himself to his feet. Lin was sleeping, and Takairu was was... Was... Well, no one really knew what he was doing, but he was awake. "Now, we'll set up camp."
Reo set up the tent, and Derek cooked some food. Ethan went to get Lin.
He found her sleeping on the ground, exhausted from Reo's training. "Aww...." Ethan whispered. Oh great... Now what do I do? Ethan thought. Do I wake her up or...
yawn.. Lin woke up. "Oh, hi Ethan. Uh... What's going on?" Lin asked. "I was coming to uh... Get you. You fell asleep after Re-" bang! Ethan was cut off by a loud noise from the nearby cliff. "What was that?" Lin asked. "I dunno. We should check it out, though." Ethan replied. They were off.

Ethan and Lin ran off to find what had happened at the cliff. Once they got there, they saw someone and a Kronos beast fighting Reo and Derek. "Kronos! Scythe Blade Attack!" Kronos's owned commanded. The scythe blew away Reo and Derek. "Go shoot!" Ethan fired Leone at Kronos. "Fool!" Kronos's owned shouted. "This wont end like the last time," Ethan bravely said. "Leone! Lion's Gale!"
Kronos blew away the Lion's Gale. "H-He broke through!" Ethan gasped.
"Ethan, Lin look at this," Tanner showed them a picture on his laptop. "This guy is known as 'Death Star' with his bey, Death Kronos 130CS, a balance type," Tanner showed pictures of the parts. "Okay, Leone! Attack, now!" Leone used a barrage attack and knocked Death Kronos to the side of the cliff. "Push it away, Kronos!" the "Death Star" commanded. Death Kronos knocked away Leone, and summoned its beast, and was about to smash Leone with its scythe. Oh god... What do I do now?! Ethan thought. Then, a green figure appeared behind Leone and put up its hand and shouted a command. "Hu-Huh? What's that?!" Ethan exclaimed. Leone whipped up a wind and tossed rocks at Kronos. "Ethan! You can do it!" Reo called out. "Be careful!" Lin called out.
"Kronos! Finishing Scythe!" Kronos appeared and smashed its scythe down on the ground, smashed Leone, and knocked Ethan into the lake.

Some hours latter....
Ethan woke up, but all he could see was black, and Leone's beast appeared in front of him, fading away. No... D-Don't go... Leone! Ethan called out. It was too late. Leone faded away and Ethan woke up, sitting in a hospital.

Ethan stood up, misty headed, looking around the room. No one was there. "H-Hello?!" Ethan called out.
Then, a familiar face peered into the room, then walked in. "Ethan!" A young boy ran up to Ethan. "One...?" Ethan looked into the eyes of his brother. "Yeah, its me. Our friends will be here soon," One smiled at the sight of his brother, finally awake.
"Fr-friends...?" Ethan sat there, seemingly like he didn't know what the heck was going on. "Uh, yeah." One said, also looking confused. "Your friends, remember? Reo, Derek, Takairu, Lin..."
"Lin..." Ethan murmured.
One was starting to look concerned. "Hey, Ethan. Um, is everything OK? Do, you remember?" One asked.
Ethan thought for a moment. "Yeah, One. I'll be fine, could I have some alone time, for a bit?"
"Of course, Ethan..." One exited the room.
Ethan looked around the room, and looked at the side-desk. He saw a shattered Counter Leone. "Leone..."
Ethan flinched. Then he was angry. "Kronos... 'Death Star'... That's a stupid nickname anyways..." Ethan murmured, and grasped Leone. "I'll get my revenge. We will roar again, Leone!"
Ethan held up the cracked Leone, and it glowed red. "Wh-What?!"
Then, Leone had completely changed, into Fang Leone Burning Claw.
Ethan brought the blood red and orange bey down to his face. "It... Changed?" Ethan was confused "Hmm... I-It evolved!"
Then, someone knocked on the door. "Uh... Who is it?" Ethan asked.
"Its your friends, Ethan." Someone answered.
Three people walked into the room, Reo, Lin and Derek.
They all ran to the side of the bed. "Hey guys, where's Tanner and Takairu?" Ethan asked, still holding Leone in his hands. "Uh... Hey kid..." Derek said, this was the nicest he could possibly be. "You did good," Reo complimented. Ethan smiled then looked at Lin. She was looking at the floor.
"Well, I think its time to get out here," declared Ethan. He picked up Leone, and sat up. "Hey Ethan," Reo said. "When did you get that?"
Reo pointed to Leone. "Um... Its hard to explain, but lets just keep it as the same as the cracked one..."
Ethan stood up and moved his arms. He felt a pang of pain and sat back down. "Argh..." Ethan muttered. Ethan rolled down his arms, and revealed two bandages. The team gasped. "How..." Ethan was shocked.
Ethan tried to launch, no good. His arms were too badly injured to battle. The battle in New York was tomorrow, would that mean Takairu would have to battle for him?
Tomorrow, at the tournament arena
The team stood on one side of the arena, and Ethan stood behind them. The other team was in front of them. They looked like... Farmers. Ethan looked up at the board. They were from Wisconsin.
They're were three of them, they all held up a Forbidden Eonis, the shortest kid had a blue one, the medium guy had a green one, and the largest buff kid and a brown Eonis. But no forth member. The medium guy went up to the arena, and readied his 3-segment launcher. "First off, we have Gren from the Wisconsin team! How will the other team go?"
"I'll go," Reo said. He went up to the arena and readied Beat Leone.
"3! 2! 1! Go shoot!"
Beat Leone charged Eonis and flew it aside. "Go, Leone!" Reo called out. "Hehe," Gren said "you think you can beat me?"
"Yes, I'm sure." Reo sneered. "I'll crush you. Beat Leone will beat you."
"Eonis!" Gren called "charge!"
"Leone, Beat Fang!"
Leone's motif appeared above Beat Leone, and it flashed green, and lunged towards Eonis. Eonis was sent flying. "Argh! Over already?!" Gren was angered.
"Its all over, too quick!" DJ exclaimed. "Nice job," Ethan said. "Uh, thanks, Ethan." Reo replied.
Ethan looked at his teammates. Derek was standing there like a dope, and Takairu was... Was... Uh... Well, he was doing something with his back turned. But Lin wasn't there.

"That was too easy," Reo remarked. "How did they even get in this tournament?"
Reo sat down, ready for the next battle. "My turn," Takairu went up to the arena. "On this side, we have the sub-member, Takairu! And on this side..." The DJ looked back down to the Wisconsin team's side of the arena. The short kid stepped up to the arena. "On this side, we have Blu!"
He took out his blue Eonis, and then his launcher. Takairu ran up to the arena. "3! 2! 1! Go... Shoot!"
Takairu's Heat Crow spun around the arena, but Eonis slid down to the center. "Attack, Crow!" Takairu commanded.
"I'm not going down like my brother," Blu said. "Eonis! Charge!"
Crow and Eonis clashed at the center, but Crow was blown away. "Come on..." Ethan muttered.
Tanner took out his computer and analyzed Eonis and said, "hey guys, look at this. When Takairu charges at Eonis, it has little effect, want to know why? Eonis uses its free-spinning spin track to block attacks, and if Crow doesn't hit the track..." He brought up a close up of the performance tip. "The damage still doesn't to much, because its a FB, and when the 'ball' part is knocked off balance, it scraps the side and brings it back to balance, similar to ES."
"Uh... You lost me at 'free spinning'," said Ethan.
"Ergh... Crow! Attack!" Takairu was getting angered. "That attack wont effect Eonis, so I might as well finish this off, Eonis! Finish him!"


Eonis's beast appeared, and charged towards Crow. "No! Crow!" Takairu cried out. "Yes, yes! Finish him Eonis!" Blu was starting to act crazy.
Eonis crashed into Crow, shattering the bey.
Takairu fell to his knees and cried out "no, no! This can't happen!"
"Its all over! Blu showed no mercy in his match, and claims one win for his team!"
"Er..." Ethan muttered angrily. He took out his launcher and Leone. "I'll be fighting next," said Ethan.
Lin walked down to the arena. "Ethan, what about your arm?" Lin asked. "I-I'll be fine. Lets go, Fang Leone!"
The buff kid stepped up to the arena and said "hey kid, I guess I'll be your opponent. My names Bill, and this is my brown Eonis."
"Mmm... Don't think you're going to win, just because your bigger in size," Ethan held up Leone.
"3! 2! 1! Go... Shoot!"
"Attack, Leone! Keep on attacking!" Ethan commanded. "Whoa! Calm down, dude!" Bill exclaimed. "He's way to laid back for the championship..." Lin thought. "Stop being so arrogant, Bill. Attack, Leone!" Ethan called out. "Wha?!" Bill said "nobody calls me arrogant! Show him, Eonis!"
The two beys clashed in the middle of the arena, but Leone knocked away Eonis. "No, Eonis! Attack, attack!" Bill commanded. "Leone! Burning Twister!" A fiery twister appeared in the arena and knocked out Eonis. "I-Its over... Sorry guys..." Bill looked back at his team, then walked away.
Ethan caught Leone and stepped back, and said "it looks like we'll be going to the next match. Lets keep our heads up, and aim for the top."

9:40, present day of round 1 of the tournament
Takairu walked out of the arena, in his hands were his shattered bey. "Er..." Takairu squinted.
It was raining out, dark blue sky, and the silver shimmer of the moon to guide Takairu. Takairu reached a buss-stop, and looked around. "He's not here..." Takairu muttered.
He reached a hand down in his pocket, and pulled out a note, it read: If you want to be stronger, meet at the buss-stop on Northwood street. 9:45. Don't let anyone follow you, and be quick.
"I wonder if its a good idea..." Takairu said to him self. Then he remembered the battle against Blu, then took out his broken Crow.
"I will become stronger, I must!" Takairu shouted out.
Then, out of a sudden a bey landed at his feet, still spinning.
"H-Huh?!"
Takairu looked up, and then saw someone in a tree. He wore silver armor, with red markings.
Takairu remembered who that was, it the Armored Dragon.
The bey flew back to his hand, then he said "ah, it seems that you've found the letter, Takairu Takaishi."
"Wh-What?!" Takairu was shocked. The Armored Dragon said his full name, the full name he didn't know he had, but that last-name... Takaishi? Wasn't that Lin's last name?
"Ah... I knew you'd react like this, you didn't know she was your sister, did you? Now, I will show you want you need, you want to become stronger," the Armored Dragon jumped to his feet, off the branch he sat on, then said "let me see Crow for a minute, I can help."
Takairu didn't argue, and grabbed Crow. He handed it to The Armored Dragon, then he put it in a pouch. "We will climb to the top of the Beyta Mountain, and there you will find your true strength."

Back at the camp, Reo and Ethan argued in the tent.
"No, Beat Leone is better!" said Reo.
"No way, my Fang Leone is stronger! It has the 4D system!"
Lin and Derek started to get annoyed at the two.
"HEYYY!" Lin yelled. "Knock it off!"
Derek walked to the tent.
"You know, why don't you two battle to see who's stronger?" said Derek.
Tanner took out his computer, then said:
"Ethan's Fang Leone is an extremely aggressive attack type, especially with its 4D Metal Wheel on counter mode. Reo's Beat Leone 100WD is a low defender. Even though defense types typically rule over attack-"
"Ha!" Reo interrupted. Ethan slugged him.
Tanner sighed, then continued "Even though defense types rule over attack types, Ethan's Leone has excellent smash attack, even enough to defeat Reo's Leone!"
"Hehe..." Ethan muttered. Reo and Ethan exchanged looks, then took out their launchers, then left for the arena.
"How'd you get them quite?" Lin asked.
Tanner grinned. "Not quite, they're battling, and I can tell this wont end well."

"3!" Ethan exclaimed.
Reo attached his Leone. "2!"
"1! Go... Shoot!"
The two Leone-beys charged fiercely like two wild lions.
"Counter-Mode!" Ethan commanded.
"Ha! It wont matter what mode your in!" said Reo.
"Your right," Ethan grinned. "We fight like wild lions! Lions fight in the wilderness, lets go!"
Reo made a thumbs up, and they ran off into the woods.

"Wh... What are they doing?" Lin asked in confusion.
"They're fighting like lions..." muttered Derek.
"Typical," Tanner said.
"Should we follow them?" Lin asked.
"Definitely." Derek and Tanner said in unison.

"Clash Leone!" exclaimed Reo.
"Goooo! Leone! Thermal Wind!" Ethan commanded.
Suddenly, the temperature raised dramatically.
"Can't stand the heat?" Ethan asked sarcastically.
"Shut up! I can stand whatever you give me!"
They kept on running, and clashing.
"Attack Leone!" ordered Reo.
"Defense Mode!" said Ethan.
Leone's 4D fusion wheel changed into its default mode, defense.
"Leone!" said Reo. "Special move, Wind Break Destroyer!"
A small twister appeared around Beat Leone and blew back Ethan and Fang Leone into the trees.
"C-C-Counter Mode!" Ethan stammered, then fell from the branch he landed on.
"Wind Break Shield!" Reo rose his arm.
"Direct Flare Blast!" Ethan lunged out of the branches.
Fang Leone shot a ball of fire and scorched the ground where Beat Leone spun, but didn't hit it.
"carp!" Ethan got up and kept running.
"Wind Break Wall!" commanded Reo.
Fang Leone was blasted back.
"Err..." Ethan muttered.
"It ends here, Ethan. Wind Break Blast!"
"Not yet!!!" Ethan yelled. "Direct Flare Blast!"
Both moves were fired, both bladers were sent flying back into the trees.
What they didn't know, behind the trees they stood in front of, was a cliff edge, and where there's a cliff, there's a cliff-hanger.

The dust cleared. Ethan held tight to a ledge on the side of the steep cliff.
He raised his other arm. Pain flowed through.
"Why..." Ethan muttered. "How do I keep getting in these messes?"
Ethan carefully, and painfully pulls himself up.

Meanwhile, Tanner and Lin run through the forest looking for Ethan and Reo.
"Lin, look!" Tanner points the direction Ethan stood. They run towards them.
"H-Huh...?" Ethan stammered. Tanner and Lin ran up to Ethan.
"Where's Reo?" Tanner asked.
"Ethan, are you OK?" Lin asked.
Ethan didn't reply, but instead looked down and saw Leone, damaged and wedged into the ground.
"Ehh..." Ethan muttered dizzily. He fell to the ground in pain, right by Leone.
Now, back to Reo. He woke up in a small room, with confused people looking down at him.
"Where am I?!" Reo said angrily. "Back off!"
Reo pushed away the surrounding him.
The people then started shouting in a foreign language. Reo looked up, and noticed he was in a hospital room.
He then pushed the blanket off him, and saw his severely damaged, and numb, legs.
"Ahh...." Reo muttered. "How'd I get myself in this mess...?"
Then, a young girl walked up to Reo and handed him and broken up Beat Leone, duct taped.
"Sorry," she said. "This is the best I could do."
Reo actually smiled, then took Leone.
"Now, what's your name?" he asked.
"Uh... Mei, sir!" she replied.
"How come you don't speak these guy's language?" Reo asked.
"I'm not with these people, I was traveling with a group, but they abandoned me."
"Sorry to hear that..." Reo sighed. "Do you... Want to come with me?"
"Really?! Can I?!" She looked happy.
"Yeah, I guess so."
She smiled, then pulled out a bey.
"This is my bey, Heat Fireblaze 130B!" she said.
Reo stood up, then fell right back down.
"Uh... Sir?" Mei said. "I could get you a wheelchair."
"No, I'll be fine." Reo stood up, and grabbed his damaged Leone.
"Lets go, Mei." And they were off.

A few minutes later, Ethan woke up, at camp.
He stood up, and un-zipped the tent. Tanner was in the other tent working on his lap-top, and Lin sat near the campfire fixing Queztalcoatl.
"Hi." Ethan walked up to the fire.
"Ethan!" Lin jolted up, and hugged him.

Together with his new ally, ten-year-old Mei, Reo set off to get back to the team.
"Mister..." Mei said. "Where exactly are we going?"
"Back to the camp," Reo replied.
Mei sighed. "How far away is that?"
"Uh..." Reo looked up. "I have no idea."
"My legs hurt," Mei complained.
"Err...." Reo grunted. He looked around.
"Can we stop, sir?" Mei asked.
"Depends, can you climb?"
"Yeah, why?" Reo pointed to a tree. "That's where we'll rest."
"You're kidding, right? Sleeping, in a tree?!"
"Tree, or pain."

Meanwhile, at camp...

"30! 31! 32! 33... " As surprising as it sounds, Ethan was doing pushups early in the morning.
"Ethan!" Lin said. "You're going to kill yourself doing that!"
"I'm fine! Tanner, what's Leone's status?"
"I'm mending the 4D wheel, it should be fixed in time for the battle."
"Ok...." Ethan muttered. "34... 35... 36..."
"Ethan..." Lin said. "At least eat."
"I did."
"What?"
"I dunno."
"What do you mean, 'you don't know'?"
"Ya know... That thing."
"You're kidding!"
"Why would I?"
"You don't even know what that was."
"It was edible."
"Hardly..."
Tanner laughed. "You guys argue a lot."
"Hehe..." there was a voice, it came from a tree.
"Ethan, did you hear that?" Lin asked.
"I didn't." Tanner replied.
"Hear what?" Ethan sat up. Even he saw something move in the trees.
"That!" Lin pointed, then someone fell from the trees.
"Oh man..." the 'someone' muttered.
Tanner walked up to the person. "Are you... Spying?"
"AAAAHHHHH!" the person screamed.
He wore a green shirt and pants, with a black mask and vest, and grey hair sticking up. He scrambled to his feet, and tried to run, but tripped over a branch.
"What are you doing?" Ethan asked sternly.
"Um... I don't have to answer that!"
Ethan grabbed his sleeve. "I think it'd be a good idea."
"AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!" he screamed and slapped Ethan, right across the face, then ran.
"MY FACE!" Ethan screamed. "You little!" Ethan ran after him.
"Will he ever learn?" Tanner laughed.


"Get back here!" Ethan yelled.
"AAAAAHHH!" the intruder continued to scream.

"Come on Tanner!" Lin exclaimed. They ran after Ethan.

The intruder stopped, in front of a outdoor arena.
Then he took out a bey and launcher.
"Battle me, Ethan Lake!" he said.
"Hehe, your on!" Ethan reached into his Bey-Case. Empty.
"Oh, you missing something?" the intruder laughed.
"Ethan!" Lin yelled from behind.
"Oh, you now have your friends to cover you!" the intruder exclaimed, still laughing.
"Ethan, heads up!" Tanner tossed over Leone, fully fixed.
"Now are you ready?!" The intruder asked impatiently.
"Of course I'm ready!" Ethan attached Leone.
"Finally, now I can reveal myself..." The intruder took of his mask.
It was... To their surprise, it was Jay.
"Jay...?!" Ethan stammered.
"I was Jay, but now..." He took out a new bey, Diablo Tempo S130WD.
"Now I'm your worst nightmare, Nightmare Syndrome!"
A black aura appeared above him.
"Wait, what?!" Lin exclaimed.
"Jay, what happened to you?!" Ethan asked.
"I've changed, I'm more powerful, ever since I obtained the dark bey from my master."
"Wha..." Ethan grabbed his launcher.
"3!" Jay said.
"2!" Ethan exclaimed.
"Ethan! Don't do this!" Lin exclaimed.
"1!" Ethan ignored.
"Go... Shoot!"
Tempo was shrouded by a dark aura, and smashed Leone away.
"Go, Leone! Defense Mode!"
"AHAHAHA! THAT WILL DO YOU NOTHING!" Jay hollered insanely.
Tempo then changed into Balance mode and smashed into Leone, breaking off a piece of the fusion wheel.
"Oh carp... " Ethan muttered.
"Dark Move!" Jay yelled. "Darkness Distortion!"
