YESSSS I LOVED THESE except for the fact they took like an hour a piece to put together Tongue_out

And yes To, I have also been getting those vibes of MFB ending Unhappy
The main problem with B-Daman was that there was almost no limit to how many parts you can add (evident with Crash and Crash SWS series), so you can have a custom that will be the jack/king of all trades.

"Barrel" parts for "accuracy" augmentation was pretty much pointless, all it really did was guide the marble into the general direction of the target, seeing as how these marbles aren't going that fast to begin with.

However the introduction of different types of marbles other than glass was pretty great. Impact Shark's Impact Shot marble and the metal marbles were pretty fantastic. I remember Nic/Composer of Requiems saying that he very much enjoyed the splitting Bunshin Shot.

For some reason, I still have my Zero 2SS AEON version Gill Scorpion. The stickers are peeling and won't stick anymore, sadly. Unhappy

Man, I want to get Gill Scorpion. I think they still have some in stock at theINtoy.co.uk. By the way, does his core work correctly? Like can the marbles really load from the bottom?

If you're super serious on getting it and can't get it from there you can always try YJA. A lot of the time special edition B-Daman would be on sale, and sometimes those special editions would be at a pretty decent price. You can tell if the B-Daman you are buying is special edition if the box it is in has art on it (like regular B-Daman packaging) but in black and white, or if the box is completely white with either Japanese text on it or nothing at all.

Gill Scorpion's core does indeed work. You can load either from the top with the magazines, or from the bottom. However you cannot play DHB with Gill Scorpion's core (along with other gimmicky cores such as Revolver Hades/Impact Shark) due to the core not having anywhere to mount the actual DHB armor onto. See below.

I find Gill Scorpion's small magazine an inadequate match for the core. Replacing it with Revolver Hades' long magazine helped.

Woah, why is your's blue? I never saw a blue Gill Scorpion set...

And man, you have Revolver Hades? That's like my favorite B-Daman! Do you have Cobalt Saber Fire too?

It's a recolor from a shop if I remember correctly. Nice to see you again Bugturtles it's been a long time!

Sold all my B-Daman a few years ago, however for some reason this lone Gill Scorpion was in my closet.

I found a "Random Booster" for B-Daman that included Revolver Hades as one of the prizes (it's either 1/3 or 1/4 chance) on YJA (I checked today for giggles). However it has a high start bid. Normal color Revolver Hades has an auction right now with a starting bid at 9800Â¥. Surprisingly, Gatling Hades is listed for 400Â¥.

I regret selling my Revolver Hades. I liked the helmet design and I want to recreate the helmet for wearing it around places. Seeing as how I don't have it on hand, I don't have many references to do said project. The shapes are easy enough though, I remember that much.

Correct. I had an AEON Proto Two too; translucent electric blue armor on white core. It was pretty, but most of the "power" parts were useless. I think AEON was the shop name, Nic had some B-Daman from there as well.

It's nice to see you again too!

(I'm probably going to perform some gunpla modeling tricks onto Gill Scorpion to make him shiny, at the very least. Probably have to remove all the stickers on his armor, but it's useless anyway as they are peeling very badly.)
I never got huge into B-Daman, but there was a window of about 5 or 6 months I was buying them. I was huge into marbles as a kid, so that might have had something to do with it. Always wanted to try the Crash-era ones.
I was big on B-Daman a few years ago, but completely lost interest in favor of Bakugan which now, I realize, is total carp.

I have a Cobalt Blaster, a broken Cobalt Saber Fire (Which IMO is the best-looking Pre-Crash B-Daman.) and Magnum Ifrit, with his awesome Grenade shot.

B-Daman taught me years ago that parts<skill. I went to this tourney with my souped-up Cobalt Blaster. Rolling feet, extensions, Rapid fire cartridge, you name it. I had everything. But sadle, I lost in the first round because I was carpy.

Right now I am hating on those names for Cross Fight. Let's hope when it appears outside of Japan, they'll give it a name that is not as bad as "One Side Sharks".

But, then again, Cobalt Blaster has one of the carppiest mechanisms ever. I buy it expecting it to have stronger launching power than Cobalt Blade, but it doesn't. Or is it just mine that's like that?
That Rapid Fire Cartridge part was rubbish. It always jammed on me.
So,I picked up a few Cross Fight B-Daman.

Here's the ones I picked up...

BM-02 Penbi Red
BM-03 Penbi Green
BM-04 Hero Penbi DX Set
BM-07 Straight Barrel
BM-08 Straight Magazine
BM-09 Official B-Dama (comes with translucent Penbi Blue)
BM-10 Official Field
BM-12 Power Mantle
CB-02 One Sided Sharks
CB-05 Official Field Set+ (comes with Accele Dracyan)
CB-06 Steer Eagle

I can review them individually, but I do have some thoughts about the series as a whole.

1.The tournament sets have seen a MAJOR overhaul, with a plastic tarp for the bottom as opposed to pieces of cardboard. However, a lack of boundary pieces for individual fields is a slight turn off.

2.The simpler game design is fun, and gives players more incentive to make their own rules (with both fields,I've actually managed to design a 4-player setup that works!).

3.The newer (CB-01 and after) B-Daman suffer from a design flaw that causes the Core to force itself apart if it's not held together by the feet, left arm,or right arm.

As I said, any pic/review requests,PM or reply.

I agree! Sometimes it just refuses to budge, and I find the mechanism rather...sketchy? Took a few tries to get used to it.

Pardon me for asking, but in CB's gen, which had the best mechanism. I heard it was Hades, but I'm not sure.

CB? i'm not even sure what that is, so you'll have to clarify haha

I think he means Cobalt Blaster, and Hades refers to Gatling Hades.
Here's my review of Accele Dracyan.

CB-01 Accele Dracyan (also see CB-04 Accele Dracyan DX set and CB-05 Official Field Set+)

OFFICIAL STATS (I know, these are useless, but for comparison's sake with the actual figure I'm posting them)

Parts:Metal Accele Core,Dracyan L Arm, Dracyan R Arm, Dracyan Foot, Dracyan Head

Power:7/10

Rapid Fire:3/10

Control:4/10

Assembly: This figure is the first in the Core Change Lineup, and it shows somewhat. The first step in the assembly is putting together the core itself, but the core assembly is very stubborn, as the body piece doesn't want to stay together, forcing itself apart as you add the bottom Drive parts. You will also notice that this figure has 2 sets of top holds. The inner holds do most of the work, the outer holds supposedly can be squeezed for power. However, when I tried this, the outer holds came off, and I had to reattach them. They are too flimsily attached to the core to be of any use,and are mostly for show. The Arms and Feet are attached with a bolt-and-socket system that uses a tool not unlike a Metal Fight Beyblade. One side of the tool, the narrow end, is used to screw in the arms, the wider end is used to screw in the feet. The head snaps on after some minimal effort. I'd rate the assembly a 6/10 for the slight frustration.

Performance: Once you have the figure assembled, if you have the means to, track down a BM-12 Power Mantle (sold seperately). This will benefit the performance of the machine greatly. With the standard back that comes with every Cross Fight B-Daman, it shoots with some power, but with a Power Mantle, its power shot becomes very impressive. Notable though, is the safety on the power shot. When you lift up the B-Daman, a piece slides out with a small arrow pointing up. This is actually the piece that squeezes the back of the holds for the power. This means that power gimmicks do not work in midair unless you were to hold the safety in with your hand. Most B-Daman games are in the arena though,so this is negligible. Overall, 8/10.

Competitive value:Unlike the previous iterations of B-Daman, which had set games and rules, Cross Fight B-Daman is more lenient, letting you come up with rules of your own. The Accele Dracyan figure is great for targets with weight, and things that need to be rolled along. It's also good for knocking down multiple targets.

Overall:Accele Dracyan is a decent start to a series with a lot of promise. If Takara Tomy plays their cards right with the premise of letting people come up with their own games, while supporting those games with some official games of their own, this series could be a big hit internationally.

lol i can understand hades, just not cobalt blaster

eh, i liked Hades more mainly because i liked its previous incarnation. it kept the spin direction gimmick from Revolver Hades, but added in that gyro wheel thing too. depending on your hand/wrist strength you can spool up the wheels fast enough to spew out loads of marbles. a non-jamming magazine would be advised though.

if Gatling Hades used the system used in Megadiablos (essentially a pre-Cartridge series Gatling Hades without the spin direction change ability but with a electronically powered wheel), it would be worlds better than what it actually is. i believe it's possible to do, you just have to fabricate a shell that can house an external motor that has a shaft connecting to Gatling Hades' wheels (too much work lol).

i would say it was definitely the best out of all of the Cartridge series B-Daman, however there was not much to begin with.
Sorry for being unclear, but yes I meant Cobalt Blaster. Smile

I was a little kid back then, and bought whatever the main character had. So yeah. Stupid.
But back then I already thought that G. Hades was sexy as hell. One big bad machine. It looked less a gun than its predecessor though.

God, I wish I'd bought Hades instead. CARP.
You can probably still buy Gatling Hades from YJA.

Hopefully this inspires you. B)

Black Ace; you'll probably want to take pictures and explain all the parts for us to understand?
How powerful is the fire on that thing? It looks like it can punch a hole through an LCD.

It's not that powerful, I think it's pretty average or above average. It is intended to fill the field with marbles.

It looks powerful mainly due to size, but it's only that big because it needs to house the gyrating wheel and gear mechanism.
All this awesome-sauce talk about B-Daman makes me want to get some new ones! I used to play like 4 years ago. Could someone kinda round up what I've missed from TT since Hasbro stopped releasing these?

Can you buy Cobalt Saber Fire or Revolver Hades? Sorry, I'm not really good at searching on YJA...

^ Uhhh I'm assuming it's the optional parts for Cobalt Saber Fire, including the wings? Not too sure, but the only thing you really need from Cobalt Saber Fire is the entire wing set.

Use Rinkya to browse YJA/other Japanese stores, then use a middle-man to order it for you. I personally use Celga, other people use other proxy services.
I still want some Crash B-Daman... blah. Monies...how much would one cost?
