I'm not a big fan of soccer. In fact I almost hate it. Because of the Portland Timbers, we lost a college baseball team
However, the Timbers are pretty good. They are a top notch team if you ask me. They've done really well this season. I wouldn't mind seeing them play.
I really do not like U.S futball at all. Probably because my dads whole side of the family is English. Nano, you should check out the Premier League Futball league. It is like a whole different sport from U.S soccer. It is a whole level higher of play.

Is anyone watching the World Cup? I am rooting for Argentina, and as I post getting ready to watch US v Germany. I hope US wins today. Overall I suspect a Brazil/Holland VS Argentina final match.
A lot of people are watching the World Cup, many have posted about it in the random thoughts thread. Group G is almost guranteed to be USA and Germany (teams not in any specific order). Lets say USA happens to lose and Portugal wins (at the point in time I'm posting this Portugal is up 1-0 against Ghana and USA and Germany are tied 0-0) USA is pretty safe unless they get blown out because they look at goals given in tie breakers. Portugal is -4 right now and USA is +1 so Portugal would have to hope USA doesn't do good and they beat Ghana up. Thats just my opinion right now. So in a sense Ghana has a decent chance being -1 (all these minus and pluses in this post are NOT counting round 3 games) and they could hope Germany gets some goals on the USA and they score some on Portugal. Germany is pretty safe with +4. Can't wait to see all the results it is half time right now.

Yeah Germany was beating them up bad. I knew Germany was coming out first with USA as a close second. Can't wait to see more action later today. After the last matches and we know all who will be in the top 16 (since we only know 14/16 teams right now) I'll probably post my round 1 predictions for the top 16. Lets see how far the USA can get I'm excited.

Ok guys, I´m not really a fan of soccer in general and I can understand that you as true fans support your own team, but please stick to facts...
Look at the shots difference... Those are the real facts.
USA having so many fouls can mean a couple of things:
1. The were desperate, couldn't stop Germany, and so had to foul.
2. Game was rigged in favor of Germany
3. USA was being really aggressive and went all out on Germany.
4. Or whatever.
The shots on goal are what really show the difference, 9 shots at goal for Germany, and US only got one off that was on target. 4 to 13 is quite lopsided IMO.
And then the possession percentage. 63% of the match, Germany had control.
And look at the amount of saves USA had, 8. Germany had 1.
Germany was pressuring USA hard. The score could have been even more lopsided...

Well yeah, this is lopsided, but why is this bullying?
To me (as a soccer noob XD) this looks like they just played better.
I totally agree to all of your explanations for the fouls. Even that the game was rigged, actually most games are. I only wanted to emphasize that both sides had many fouls and no side was bullying the other around...
