Yeah, Bird is an actual FRAUD!!!! What kind of Beyblade protagonist goes through 20 episodes and 9 chapters without winning a single battle?!?!? And how many variants of Hells Scythe does this clown need before getting a single dub?!?!?!? Multi needs to stop giving this useless bum Beys that he doesn't deserve. Like, bro lost to his old bey while using an upgraded version of it. And bro really has the audacity to call himself a "Pro" something X Kurosu is?!?!? Boi, stop the cap, you are not even an amateur, you are just a fraudulent blader!!!! No wins, no assistances, but multiple times of being carried by X and Multi with yo fraudulent @$$. Like, now I understand why Takumi did what he did in the beginning, destroying the Beys of weak bladers because this cr@p is ridiculous. And I will never understand why some people will say they like Bird better than Valt, Gingka, or Tyson cause he's a more "realistic" protagonist. I don't care how realistic he is, bro got no wins and has a lame personality compared to the previous protagonists. As a matter of fact, forget Bird as the protagonist, the real protagonist is X, I don't care what anyone says. Bird is just a background character placed in a side character's place.

Again, still don’t understand this “hE’s ThE pRoTaGoNIsT, hE hAs To WiN!!11!1” logic. It’s all about development. If Bird won all the time he’d be just like Ekusu: an uninteresting character that we’ve seen over the past 25 years.

How about he wins and develops at the same time? They’re not mutually exclusive.

Since you think we’re all wrong then FINE let see Bird lose until like the last episode 😒 (garbage character). For the last time we are not saying he should win every single battle but there should be some growth but there isn’t
The problem with Bird is that the plot forces him to lose because of his circumstances (having way less experience than pro-level Bladers) and doesn't give him any proper growth. So far all we've seen him do is get inspired by Ekusus to keep trying and losing on repeat. This might work for a chapter or two, but it's been 9 months, so I think it's fair that the audience would consider this part of his arc drawn out. Valt lost a lot and had a lot of problems to overcome, but he kept working hard and getting better step by step. That is what made him such a fun and sympathetic character to watch. The problem with Bird is that he feels stuck on the first step. He acknowledges his weakness, but never takes any new or innovative steps to get better other than just doing what he's already doing, but even more. Again, this might work for a chapter or two, but we've seen him do this and fail time after time, so it's no longer interesting to watch him (it's like a self-fulfilling prophecy).

He’s a horrible character because he doesn’t win? By that logic Gingka is the best written character in all of beyblade.

There's no reason to let him cook anymore. We know he'll have a redemption arc, but we're already almost halfway through the manga and he doesn't even have the ingredients. We don't have to enjoy the process of his development, that's a given. Also, Bey100 clearly states that the problem isn't that he loses, but the fact that he doesn't really grow from loss. I feel like you glossed over that part.

Stop twisting my words bruh, I never said Bird was a bad character because he doesn’t win, I said that he wasn’t developing as or growing as blader or character from his loses 😤 if he did I wouldn't've be complaining but we have clearly seen no growth. At this point  let’s just agree to disagree and don’t bother responding because I promise you I won’t reply

Just curious, what is it exactly about Bird's character and or development that you're enjoying so far?

I like how tame he is compared to... well basically every other protagonist in beyblade period. Previous protags have almost always been very energetic and hot blooded, often with a big ego as well. Not saying bird lacks those qualities, but it feels noticeably toned down from the norm and it's a nice change of pace.
He kinda does feel like just a teenager who got thrown into a position he wasn't actually prepared for and is trying to make do with it (keyword is trying).
Crazy how even though the previous Beyblade protagonists were energetic airheads, they still had better battle IQ than Bird lol. Like, why does bro keep copying X Kurosu for? When is he going to realize he is not HIM?

fr like maybe he should try NEW strategies? Honestly don't know why Multi keeps making beys for this fool...

Makes more sense than making new beys for ekusu who doesn't need them lol

(I know it's to increase their chances of winning regardless but still)

Ok I'll admit that is a fair point (Still if I were Multi I'd be like "Get better than we talk")

I like that he's a beginner and not some pre-made pro like every other protagonist, as well as the subtle signs of growth every time he battles(these were more apparent to me in the manga than the anime clips I've seen). Very fitting for a protagonist who's starting at the bottom; traits that don't make it seem like he's already at the top(in other words, he's not blazing to the top because he shouldn't, and that's a good thing).
Well, thanks to having three protags, we have the energetic airhead who always wins, the more down to earth guy who is still learning (a slow learner at that) and..hmm..Multi is more like an updated version of the mechanic?!
Just thinking out loud.
Despite Bird keep losing, he's oddly my favourite still. I am a very patient person. ^^;
Best X battle so far?

The saddest thing is, they're all stomps for one or the other side. Nothing really stands out yet, even though it's been airing for half a year now.

Tbh with you most of them are kinda boring
(Mar. 04, 2024  3:52 PM)Admiral W Wrote: [ -> ]Best X battle so far?

Nothing special so far, which is to be expected as the manga only has 9 chapters and the anime is deciding to be a (drawn out) straight adaptation this time around. Still no new major plot points besides getting to the top of X tower and beating up Pendragon, but I suppose that with UX beys coming out there's gonna be some in-universe call-to-action as to why they're evolving their beys instead of sidegrading(unless these will be sidegrades as well).
By this point in Burst we already had quite a few great battles.

Yeah, the burst battles were honestly far more entertaining but the X ones just feel too bland? Like there's no energy

Not really, most of the battles in the first 9 chapters all follow an instant burst finish win formula, and it's not until chapter 8 when the first significant battle happens(as there, Xcalibur breaks Valkyrie right before the consolation tournament, and thus evolves it to Victory Valkyrie).
