Alright. So I guess I'll start things off by saying we're shooting for not one but TWO tournaments during this month of March! Who's game ? The first tournament will be on March 15th in Chesapeake, VA. This tournament will be Standard BB-10. The next tournament will be March 29th and will either be in Chesapeake, VA or Virginia Beach, VA. This tournament will be LIMITED FORMAT and potentially Zero-G afterwards. I've been talking to Kai-V to see if this could be Virginia's Qualifiers tournament for Beyblade Grand Battle Tournament in Toronto, Ontario on May 24, so if interested speak up NOW! Grin (This is only a possibility for the moment until I'm given the okay from Kai-V, if this isn't a qualifiers tournament then this will be a normal tournament. Check back here for updates on possible date changes or confirmation of anything new)

Don't hosts have to pay all expenses?

No? Who the hell told you that? The WBO pays for the trip. If I had to personally finance someone else's trip to another country...it wouldn't happen. I'd pay for my own before anyone else. Haha

No problem. Will you be able to make any tournaments this month ? 15th, 29th, both ?

RE: [Virginia, USA] Tournament Discussion #2 - *Ginga* - Mar. 02, 2014

Yo, can't come on the 15th but possibly the 29th for Limited and Zero-G.

RE: [Virginia, USA] Tournament Discussion #2 - DrPepsidew - Mar. 02, 2014

Really? -.-
Here it goes again Kaboom!!! hah.

RE: [Virginia, USA] Tournament Discussion #2 - Kaboom!!! - Mar. 02, 2014

I really feel like it should be a stay in your own state kind of thing for these qualifiers but whatever.. DrPepsidew. Find out asap if you're confirmed.

RE: [Virginia, USA] Tournament Discussion #2 - *Ginga* - Mar. 02, 2014

Even if I get first I wouldn't be able to go to Toronto anyways, if that makes you all feel better!

RE: [Virginia, USA] Tournament Discussion #2 - Grim Ripper - Mar. 02, 2014

I should be able to come on 29 but not confirmed yet

RE: [Virginia, USA] Tournament Discussion #2 - DrPepsidew - Mar. 02, 2014

Still, not cool...
I wouldn't mind if you came for the first tourney though

RE: [Virginia, USA] Tournament Discussion #2 - Havoc - Mar. 02, 2014

Confirm myself and kilgore for both tournaments. Never tried a limited tournament but it sounds awesome.

RE: [Virginia, USA] Tournament Discussion #2 - RagerBlade - Mar. 02, 2014

How about a qualifier in Sterling, guys? We could make it VA, MD Qualifer II. So people who don't qualify can come here, but we better wait until after the Blizzard ends (obviously).

Nope. I'm hosting so it's Virginia Beach. If you wanna make it better catch a ride. The same goes for everyone else that DOESN'T live in VA. It's the VA Qualifiers, not lose and go to a different state and try to win qualifiers.

RE: [Virginia, USA] Tournament Discussion #2 - RagerBlade - Mar. 02, 2014

Here was to NY qualifiers last year, so why not two in VA?

RE: [Virginia, USA] Tournament Discussion #2 - Angry Face - Mar. 02, 2014

Sterling is so close to Silver Spring, it almost wouldn't make sense to have two in such close proximity.

If you guys really wanted a VA qualifier, Richmond would be the most fair and central location. But hey, I can't do anything, so people should really be grateful to those who can, regardless of where.

RE: [Virginia, USA] Tournament Discussion #2 - Kaboom!!! - Mar. 02, 2014

NY really pushed it imo...

Rager, you've hosted one?...maybe two tournament? I don't think you should host a qualifiers considering you've done only a handful. That's just my opinion. With the WBO allowing so many qualifiers in the U.S. no one has really considered all the money that's going into all of this.. keep things at one tournament per state. If you can't make it down here, go to MD. You can't even get 8 people for a normal tournament, how do you expect everyone to come to you when everyone that's active in VA primarily lives down here AND Sterling isn't a central location. I don't even prefer to do Richmond. It's either Chesapeake or Virginia Beach.

March 15th:

1.) Kaboom!!!
2.) Havoc
3.) Kilgore

March 29th:

1.) Kaboom!!!
2.) Havoc
3.) Kilgore

RE: [Virginia, USA] Tournament Discussion #2 - DrPepsidew - Mar. 02, 2014

FlashMaster and I confirmed for 29th, gotta talk for the 15th.
The WBO does spend a lot of money on these things though. It isn't cool to host multiple qualifiers for a single state. And whoever leaves their own state, goes to another state's qualifier just because they didn't win theirs is a bum IMO.
If you're a fighter and you lose your qualifier, you don't lose or gain weight to fight in another class.

RE: [Virginia, USA] Tournament Discussion #2 - Kei - Mar. 02, 2014

The reason we did two for NY last year was because the first one was–in terms of total participants–the most successful tournament in the Qualifier Series and because the cost to bring an additional person from NY to Toronto was much smaller than say, another person from North Carolina. So in that sense, they deserved it, and it was easy for us to do, so why not?

RE: [Virginia, USA] Tournament Discussion #2 - Kaboom!!! - Mar. 03, 2014

I'm confirming that the March 15th tournament is in Chesapeake, Virginia and it will once again be at the Clarence V Cuffee Library. We also have the Library for the 29th but if it exceeds a certain number I'll have to find a different location in Chesapeake or Virginia Beach.

Confirm: death Zangetsu (formerly rpov) for both tournaments and Mega_Destroyer for March 15th.

RE: [Virginia, USA] Tournament Discussion #2 - RagerBlade - Mar. 03, 2014

Well then guess I'll be going to Maryland than. Good luck to you then, Kaboom.

RE: [Virginia, USA] Tournament Discussion #2 - DrPepsidew - Mar. 03, 2014

And good luck to you Rager.
And Kaboom!!!, the number is 14 right?

RE: [Virginia, USA] Tournament Discussion #2 - Kaboom!!! - Mar. 03, 2014

Yeah.. a different lady said 12 but 14 is good too. If need be we'll kick out anyone who isn't in the actual tournament.

RE: [Virginia, USA] Tournament Discussion #2 (OP Update: 03/02/2014) - Kai-V - Mar. 03, 2014

By the way, the goal of all this North American Championship is to bring the best Bladers from North America together for an ultimate competition in the Limited format. If someone wins a qualifier outside in their state of residence, then clearly they must have 'bested' all the other Bladers in that other state, so they do deserve to go to the championship.

I do agree we can try keeping ourselves in our own states, but what would be most 'detrimental' is if someone entered two or more qualifiers and won them all. If they lived in neither of those states, just what state do we take the second-place winner as the qualifier instead of them ? It just becomes a mess.
