I think I'm launching wrong. - Greimatter - Mar. 11, 2011

I'm pretty sure I shouldn't be able to cut my knuckle upon launch. When I launch with the string launcher, the cord whips back and the plastic grip hits my knuckle. What could I do to fix this?

I think this goes in "ask a question get an answer" or "beyblade random thoughts 4" But dude, that's one narly cut!

You could probably kind of swing the hand grip away and swinging the plastic cord around until it got back to the launcher.

So pull and twirl?

When I launch, I pull the string back and don't let it whip back. I manually let the string go back into the launcher slowly.

RE: I think I'm launching wrong. - Glad Hatter - Mar. 11, 2011

Do you hold the handle the way it says to on the instructions or by holding it by your index finger and your thumb?

RE: I think I'm launching wrong. - Greimatter - Mar. 11, 2011

I hold it loosely with my fingertips, so I can pull it full force and the string doesn't snap off.

If your saying that the "handle" part is hitting you then you may want to buy a "tab" for the handle.

Yeah. Pull it and when it comes whipping back, just twirl it around until it goes back into the launcher. That's what I do Tongue_out

Try launching like this
Since he is a WBO member u can ask him more specifically
It looks like he holds loose but doesn't let go?

RE: I think I'm launching wrong. - ControL_ - Mar. 11, 2011

For ultimate power you should release the handle at the end of the launch.
To minimise the possibility of it slapping back into your hand you can diagonally pull the handle downwards. I find that helps, but even better is tying an elastic band around the handle or just a launcher rubber + grip.

RE: I think I'm launching wrong. - Yamislayer - Mar. 11, 2011

it sometimes happens to me when i shoot very strong and kno i can't mnove the shooter because the shoot must be precise.
anyway, you can fix it using a glove =P

RE: I think I'm launching wrong. - Ajm226 - Mar. 11, 2011

I had the same problem i thought i broke my finger a few times. You should try instead of pulling the string straight back pull the string away from your side, i get just as much power plus when it bounces back it usally gos straight in other than whipping my hand see if that helps

RE: I think I'm launching wrong. - Bey Brad - Mar. 11, 2011

Officially, you aren't supposed to release the handle. You can temporarily fix this by taking elastic string and wrapping it around both the handle of the BeyLauncher and your wrist. However, a permanent fix would be to buy and use the BeyLauncher Suspension.

RE: I think I'm launching wrong. - ControL_ - Mar. 11, 2011

Really? I emailed Hasbro when I was at my noobiest point; they recommended that I release the handle once the string extended to maximum length.

RE: I think I'm launching wrong. - Raijin - Mar. 11, 2011

If you're using it with a launcher grip, simply have it on so when pulling it, you're pulling away from your left hand to your right. It should be fine then.

RE: I think I'm launching wrong. - Yamislayer - Mar. 11, 2011

if you don't release the handle you'll have limits in your strenght, and for some matchups releasing it is kinda mandatory.

RE: I think I'm launching wrong. - Callum6939 - Mar. 11, 2011

if you dont release your handle you may have a chance of breaking the handle, and you get less power, launcher rubbers give the handle a slight bit more weight and it has whipped me twice (did it about 2 weeks ago)

RE: I think I'm launching wrong. - InfernoX - Mar. 11, 2011

By letting it free, you are reversing the process. If you are not pulling back all the way that is. If your going to let go, then do it after you have done your full pull, as far as the string can go, Then let the bey release, then let go of the string.

RE: I think I'm launching wrong. - PRINCEcharming - Mar. 12, 2011

Buy some elastic bands and make yourself a couple of ghetto suspensions. I say a couple because eventually the bands snap, so it's best to have suspension made of several bands, and a spare made the same way so you can switch our quickly in a tournament.

RE: I think I'm launching wrong. - Trident - Mar. 12, 2011

by a handle

RE: I think I'm launching wrong. - Greimatter - Mar. 12, 2011

I attached a rubber band to the handle, problem solved. Grin

RE: I think I'm launching wrong. - Nodear - Mar. 12, 2011

If you don't want to spend any money I would just wear a glove. It's stylish and takes away most of the pain.

RE: I think I'm launching wrong. - Electric - Mar. 12, 2011

Use a Grip, if you are not using on ealready and slide launch... It's pretty cheap too.

RE: I think I'm launching wrong. - Greimatter - Mar. 13, 2011

I intend to buy a grip eventually, lol.
