It is kinda true, but no contest like these are safe from that. I.e. Glow Squid was added into minecraft but only because people were being "manipulated" into voting on it by the media. Turns out any of the 2 other mobs would be better than Glow Squid.

+ it depends on what you read. I.e. I don't read Delta's fics, so why would I vote on Delta's fics? But I do read some fics here and there, so I'll choose the best one in my opinion, from what I read.

To put it simple: sometimes the best might not win, that's how things work. Also, you're not being salty in my POV.

in my defense, people were complaining about contests being too partisan, so i decided on an anonymous vote, as my choices don't reflect the choices of the people who are interested. Most people are partisan by nature, so I made a poll so that i could not singlehandedly decide the winner. and its anonymous, so people's friendships dont come into play, betray ur bffs plz 
oh, and its more fun this way, it would be too boring if i just said, well you won, gg, in like a day. btw the polling ends monday at 9:20 pm est. id vote by 9.

So, I've decided to do a bonus round. What the winners here will do is make a halloween themed short story, preferably around 500 to 2k words, but give or take 250 words is fine ig. Also, i'd like yall to use diff chars than normal, as this is to test your writing and character buliding skills. Also, I'd download grammarly, as I (and hopefully others) will vote on things like how concise you are. But that's your choice, and if you're over like the 2nd or 3rd grade, you're probably fine. if not, I might vote you cuz im impressed how much support you have at such a young age lol. anyways, I'll give yall till tuesday at 11:59 pm. Since im dum and dont know how to edit a poll, ill make another thread or a discord poll, and post the link here, with the polling starting on the 21st of october (whenever i can, im busy that day lol) and ending on the 23 at 12:00 PM. ~In The Spooky Halloween Warehouse~
(The Opposing Bey bursts with a sudden huge clang)
Hanami: It’s a burst!
Random Blader: *Gasps*
Referee: It’s Hollow Solomon with a Burst Finish! Remi Itoh is the Winner!!
Me: *Grins* Is that all you’ve got?! Disappointing!!
Hanami: It’s official, Remi Itoh is moving onto the Semi-Finals of the Halloween Beyjitzu Tournament! Held in The Hydro King’s Warehouse!! Where Perseus Nakano (The World Champion) Trained and battled his opponent’s!
Me: *Grins* The Semi-Finals, where I belong!
Hanami: The Final Four are. Remi Itoh, Rashad Goodman, Mark Ramirez, and Dan!! We’ll see you tomorrow as we’ll be clashing for the final spots for the Finals!!
(A tall teenager in a Red outfit walks up to me with a huge Grin)
Rashad: So, you’re Remi Itoh?
Me: Yeah, what’s it to you?
Rashad: You’d better get to the finals so I can show you how strong I am!
Me: *Grins* I’ll crush you!
Rashad: *Laughs* You don’t even have a Beyjitzu Bey! While I have the strongest Beyblade in the world, Heroic Valkyrie!
(Rashad holds up his Red Heroic Valkyrie)
Me: Grr!! Just wait, I’ll crush your Bey to a pulp!
Rashad: *Laughs* We’ll see about that!
~At My House~
(I put my backpack on the ground as I enter my house)
Mom: Remi! How are you doing?
Me: *Smiles* I’m good, I’ll be in my office for a while.
Mom: Alright, dinner will be ready in a couple of hours!
Me: Alright.
(I go up to my office and sit in my chair)
Me: As much as I hate to admit it, Rashad has a point. I know that he and Mark have Beyjitzu Beys and I just have a Sparking Bey. I’ll need to make my own Beyjitzu Bey!
(I start typing a Beyblade design on my computer)
Me (Thoughts): My Bey will be… Horrid Reaper! A Crazy Powerful Attack Type! It’ll have Two Scythes on each side of The Layer that are made of Metal, it’ll have a Reaper motif that’s the personification of Halloween! On the edge of its Metal Scythes it’ll have Rubber to dish out a way more powerful strike! It’s driver Quick’ will be able to go at High Speeds and be able to dish out even more powerful hits! This Bey will put Rashad in his Place!!
(I start working on my Bey as I put a huge Grin on my face)
Me: Rashad, I’ll show you the Truly Supreme Bey!
~A Couple Hours Later~
Me: It’s finally done! Come around and say hello to Horrid Reaper!!
(Horrid Reaper glimmers in the Light, My phone starts beeping wildly)
Me: What’s going on?
Hanami (On Phone): Announcement to all Semi-Finalist Bladers! The matches for the Semi-Finals have been decided! It’s Remi Itoh Vs. Mark Ramirez and Rashad Goodman Vs. Dan! I know you’re all excited for these upcoming matches and I am too! So, I’ll meet you all at the Blading Warehouse!!
???: So, it looks like we’re facing off.
Me: *Gasps* Mark Ramirez?! How’d you get in my house?! How do you even know where I live?!?
Mark: Don’t fret, I just came to deliver a message.
Me: What kind of Message?
Mark: I’ll crush you and become the Halloween Champion! Plus, I’ll be the one to beat The Supreme Rashad Goodman!
Me: What makes him so special?
Mark: He’s been training under Valt Aoi and Free De La Hoya. And he has Valkyrie, the strongest Bey in the world! So beating him will be good for my record.
Me: Remember this, you’ll have to defeat me if you want to battle Rashad Goodman!!
Mark: That won’t be a problem.
(Mark turns around and gets ready to leave but I stop him before he leaves)
Mark: What?
Me: You can’t just come into my house with no explanation of how you found where I live and how you got in?
Mark: I saw you heading home and decided to give you this little message. I just told your mom I was a “Friend” and I was in.
Me: I’m so going to beat you in this battle!
~The Next Day At The Warehouse~
Hanami: Welcome back all you Bladers! Today, we’ll be jumping into the First Semi-Final battle! It’s Mark Ramirez Vs. Remi Itoh!! It’s also rumored that Remi Itoh has a new Bey! Looks like we’re going to find out in this battle!!
Me: You’ve got that right, get ready because Horrid Reaper is about to Burst Mark’s Bey!
Mark: I don’t think so! Don’t forget, I have a Beyjitzu Bey too!
(Mark holds up his Bey)
Hanami: And there we have it, the powerful Insane Manticore!!
Me: Insane Manticore huh? Too bad it’s gonna get Burst!!
Referee: Inspect your Opponent's Bey!
Me (Thoughts): Insane Manticore, a Counterclockwise Spinning Attack Type! It has Four Destructive Huge Blades sticking out that can make for powerful attacks! Those Four Blades are made out of powerful Metal making them even more powerful! It has pretty Sharp edges too! This Bey will be a tough one to take out! It’s time for Reaper to make its Debut!!
Mark: Get ready to lose!
Me: Like I’d ever!
Rashad (Thoughts): Horrid Reaper, huh? Let’s see how you do… Remi!
Referee: Ready? Set!
All: 3! 2! 1!
Me/Mark: Go, Shoot!!
(Me and Mark pull off powerful Beyjitzu Shoots)
Hanami: And we see some powerful Beyjitzu Shoots!
Me: Go for the attack, Reaper!
(Reaper slams into Manticore sending it flying across the stadium)
Hanami: Reaper starts off with a powerful strike!
Mark: Scar them, Manticore!
(Manticore speeds up and hits Reaper with a powerful strike, Reaper speeds up)
Mark: It sped up?!
Hanami: Apparently, Reaper has sped up from a powerful attack that Manticore gave off!
Me: Go for the attack!!
(Reaper speeds up and starts clashing wildly with Manticore)
Mark: C’mon, Manticore!!
(Mark’s Resonance Aura flares up as Manticore blazes out of the Bey)
Me: *Gasps* Is he powering up?!
Hanami: Both Beys clash in the center!
Mark: Insane Crunch!!
(Manticore uses its Four Blades to deliver a powerful slash attack onto Reaper, Reaper gets sent flying out of the center and bursts after it hits the ground)
Me: *Gasps*
Referee: It’s Insane Manticore with an Over Finish! Mark Claims 1 Point!!
Mark: *Grins* Looks Like I’ll be the winner!
Hanami: With an incredible crushing blow Reaper has been blown out of the water!!
Me: Tch…
Mark: You should just give up before Manticore swallows you whole!
Me: Grr!!
Reaper: Remi…
Me: *Gasps*
(Reaper starts glowing brightly as I get pulled into a White Void)
Reaper: Remi!
Me: Your Reaper! That’s so cool!!
Reaper: *Chuckles* I guess so. If you want to beat Manticore, both of us have got to be in total synchronization! You and I have got to have an unbreakable bond! Now, let’s show them the true meaning of Halloween!!
Me: *Grins* Of course, we’ll be the winners and defeat Rashad Goodman!!
(Me and Reaper fist bump as I get pulled out of the Void)
Referee: Second Battle!
(My Resonance Aura surrounds me as I chuckle deviously)
Me: Mark, get ready because Manticore’s getting a Trick! Not a treat!!
Mark: *Grins* Let’s see about that!
Rashad (Thoughts): Remi, show me what you’ve got!
Referee: Ready? Set!
All: 3! 2! 1!
Me/Mark: Go, Shoot!!
(Me and Mark pull off Powerful Beyjitzu Shoots)
Me: Fight!
Mark: Go wild, Manticore!!
(Manticore goes in for a Powerful Barrage of attacks, Reaper counters with even more powerful attacks)
Hanami: *Gasps* Is it just me or is Reaper attacking way more powerfully then from last time?!
Me: Go for a Quick Shoot!!
(Reaper hits Manticore with a Powerful Barrage of attacks as Manticore barely holds its ground)
Hanami: Reaper completely goes wild and goes for the attacks!!
Mark: *Roars* Manticore!!
(Mark’s Resonance Aura flares up as Manticore blazes out of the Bey with a thundering roar)
Mark: End this with Insane Crunch!!
(Manticore slashes at Reaper with its powerful Metal Blades sending Reaper flying in the air)
Hanami: Reaper has been sent flying in the air!
Me: Reaper, break your limits!!
(My Resonance Aura flares up as Reaper blazes out of the Bey as it starts crashing back down to the stadium)
Me: Horrid Scythe!!
(Reaper slashes at Manticore from above with its Scythe, Manticore bursts with a sudden explosion)
Mark: *Gasps*
Referee: It's Horrid Reaper with a Burst Finish! Remi Itoh is the winner!!
Me/Reaper: Yes!!
Hanami: It’s official, Remi Itoh is the first Blader to enter the finals! But in the Second Match who will be the one to advance? Will it be Rashad Goodman or Dan?! Let’s find out in this upcoming battle!
Mark: Tch…
Me: Good Game.
(I put my hand out as Mark reluctantly shakes it)
Mark: Mark my words next time we battle I’ll crush you!
(Mark storms off in rage)
~A Couple Minutes Later where Rashad Vs. Dan is soon to Begin~
Hanami: Folks, it’s Rashad Goodman Vs. Dan! Let’s see which Blader will be joining Remi Itoh in the finals! Now let’s get started!!
Referee: First Battle!
Rashad: My Ultimate Valkyrie will burst your Bey in no time!!
Dan: *Grins* Your Bey is no match for my First Deathscyther!!
(Rashad attaches Valkyrie to his Launcher and aims his Launcher into the air)
All: *Gasps*
Dan: What does he think he’s doing?
Rashad: Let’s get this started!
Referee: Ready? Set!
All: 3! 2! 1!
Rashad/Dan: Go, Shoot!!
(Dan pulls off a Beyjitzu Shoot as Rashad pulls off a Powerful Beyjitzu Shoot, Valkyrie goes flying into the air)
Hanami: *Gasps* Valkyrie has been shot into the air!
Rashad: Go, Valkyrie!
(Valkyrie lands on First Deathscyther causing it to start wobbling as Valkyrie speeds around the stadium)
Dan: No!!
Hanami: Sadly, First Deathscyther has started to wobble straight into the battle!
Rashad: True Heroic Sword!!
(Valkyrie’s Blades start glowing as it slams into First Deathscyther bursting it in mere seconds)
Dan: *Gasps*
Referee: It’s Heroic Valkyrie with a Burst Finish! Rashad Goodman is the winner!!
Rashad: *Grins* Valkyrie is the Strongest Beyblade in the World! Now, do you believe me?!
(Dan falls to his knees in total shock)
Dan: I– I lost…
Hanami: Rashad Goodman climbs his way to the top! The Finals are going to be Remi Itoh Vs. Rashad Goodman!!
(Rashad walks over to me looking down on me from above)
Rashad: I’m going to crush you with Valkyrie in the next battle!
Me: Grr!! Don’t make any bets!!
(Rashad’s Eyes start glowing a bright sinister Red)
Rashad: Valkyrie is the Strongest Bey! No matter what you say!!
Hanami: This amazing Clash will start in 2 Hours under the Halloween Blood Moon!!
(Me and Rashad would stare each other down as my Resonance Aura ignites under the Blood Moon)
~At My House In the Backyard~
Me: Go, Shoot!!
(I pull off a Powerful Beyjitzu Shoot as someone comes behind me)
???: So, you’re practicing for your match against Rashad!
Me: Yeah, Big Bro. Are you coming to watch?
???: Of course, I will, hopefully, Rashad doesn’t crush you right in front of me!
Me: Trust me, Leon! I have 2 hours to practice, he won’t stand a chance!
Leon: If you say so. I’ll drop you off and you’d better show me an amazing battle!
Me: Of course I will!
(Leon goes inside the house as I pick up Reaper from the stadium)
Me: Reaper, I’m kind of scared to be going up against Rashad. He seems like a Powerful Opponent.
(Reaper starts glowing as I get pulled into a White Void)
Reaper: Do not be afraid, I’ll be with you the whole way. Any challenge you face against him we will do together. Just remember that!
Me: Thanks, Reaper!
Reaper: No problem, let’s show them all Trick, No treat!
Me: *Grins* I’ll be sure to win this battle with all tricks!
(I get pulled into the White Void, I hold Reaper up in the sun)

Hanami: Hello all you amazing and awe-inspiring Bladers! Today, we’ll be diving into the Finale of the Blood Moon Tournament!! It’s Rashad Goodman Vs. Remi Itoh! The face-off we’ve all been waiting for!!
Leon: Go in giving it your all, Lil’ Bro!
Me: Thanks, I totally will!
Rashad: Valkyrie will end Reaper’s trip to the top!
Me: We’ll see!
Referee: This battle will be a First to Three Points. Now… First Battle!
Rashad: Valkyrie will prove it's the Strongest Bey in the world!
Me: Just because Valt’s the True Blader fit for Valkyrie doesn’t mean it’s The Strongest Bey in the World!!
Rashad: Grr! I’ll prove you wrong!!
Referee: Ready? Set!
All: 3! 2! 1!
Me/Rashad: Go, Shoot!!
(Me and Rashad pull off powerful Beyjitzu Shoots as Rashad sends Valkyrie flying in the air)
Hanami: We’ve got Powerful Beyjitzu Shoots from all sides!
Me: Dodge Valkyrie’s attack!
(Reaper speeds up and dodges Valkyrie’s Airborne strike)
Hanami: Thank goddess, Reaper has survived Rashad’s crazy and powerful Shoot!!
Rashad: Rush Shoot!!
(Valkyrie goes in for a barrage of attacks, Reaper speeds off into the other direction)
Hanami: After some brutal hits Reaper has escaped Destruction by speeding off with its Speedy moves!
Me: Quick Shoot!!
(Reaper speeds up and hits Valkyrie with a powerful barrage of attacks)
Hanami: This is the exact same thing that happened earlier, except Reaper’s on the attack!
Rashad: End this… Now!
(Valkyrie slams into Reaper sending it flying into the air)
Hanami: Valkyrie has gone airborne now!!
Me: *Gasps*
Rashad: I’ll crush you, True Heroic Sword!!
(Rashad’s Eyes glow brightly as Valkyrie’s Blades glow, Valkyrie slams down into Reaper bursting it in an instant)
Me: Grr!!

(Valkyrie slams into Reaper causing Reaper to slam into the wall)
Me: It’s not over!
(Reaper catches onto the stadium rim and picks up speed)
Hanami: I don’t believe it, Reaper is using the Rim to its advantage!!
Rashad: What?!
Me: Reaper!!
(My Resonance Aura flares up as Reaper blazes out of the Bey)
Rashad: Stop them, True Heroic Slash!!
Me: I won’t let you, Horrid Scythe!!
(Both Beys slam into each other causing an electrifying explosion, Valkyrie gets shot out of the stadium)
Rashad: *Gasps*
Referee: It’s Horrid Reaper with an Over Finish! Remi Itoh claims 1 Point!!
Me: *Grins* That’s how the Reaper does it!
Hanami: And with an Amazing Strike, Reaper makes a comeback by scoring 1 Point!!
Leon: Nice going, Lil’ Bro!
Rashad: Remi, I promise to show you Valkyrie’s True Colors in this next battle!
Me: Bring it on, I’ll eat it for breakfast!!
Referee: Third Battle!
Rashad (Thoughts): Valkyrie, I promise I’ll crush this “Halloween Prince” and show him that you’re the Strongest Bey in the World!!
Me: Reaper, let’s end this thing with a bang!!
(Both Bladers stare each other down with intense looks as There Resonance Aura’s surround them)
Me/Rashad: I’ll be the winner!!
Referee: Ready? Set!
All: 3! 2! 1!
Me/Rashad: Go, Shoot!!
(Me and Rashad pull off Extremely Powerful Beyjitzu Shoots)
Hanami: We’ve got some more Powerful Shoots!!
Rashad: Pound them to dust!
Me: Dodge!
(Reaper speeds up and barely dodges Valkyrie as it lands from above)
Rashad: Tch…
Hanami: Incredible! Reaper has just made an invasive dodge!
Rashad: Rush Shoot!!
Me: Counter, Quick Shoot!!
(Valkyrie and Reaper hit each other with a barrage of powerful hits, Reaper starts glowing brightly as it hits Valkyrie harder and harder)
Reaper: *Roars* You’ll be demolished!
Me: You said it, now keep going!
(Reaper slams into Valkyrie causing it to wobble uncontrollably)
Hanami: Reaper is not taking any of this by chance!
Me: Yeah, we’re just gonna keep going till Valkyrie bursts!!
(Rashad’s Eyes glow as the Blood Moon glows brightly and Rashad’s Red Resonance Aura surrounds him flickering Gold)
Rashad: Valkyrie is… The Ultimate Bey!!
Me: *Gasps*
(Valkyrie catches onto the rim and starts going at Hyperfast Speeds)
Hanami: Valkyrie has powered up, it’s not going down!!
Rashad: True Heroic Flash!!
(Valkyrie slams into Reaper with a huge amount of force and delivers a Powerful Slash attack, Reaper gets sent flying into the air)
Me: No…
Hanami: Rashad Goodman’s Valkyrie has made a powerful hit and now, Reaper is airborne!!
Reaper: You’re not giving up… Are you?!
Me: Never! Reaper!!!
(My Resonance Aura flares up as Reaper blazes out of the Bey and starts crashing back down to the stadium)
Rashad: True Heroic Sword!!
Me: Horrid Scythe!!
(Reaper slashes at Valkyrie at full power sending it flying into the air, Valkyrie bursts right in front of Rashad as he gasps in fear)
Rashad: No… No… Grr!!!
Referee: Horrid Reaper with a Burst Finish! Remi Itoh is the Blood Moon Champion of this Halloween Night with a Score of 3-2!!
Hanami: Reaper has just burst Valkyrie!! Remi has triumphed Over Rashad Goodman!!
(Confetti pops up everywhere as I jump for joy in the air)
Me: I won! I beat Rashad Goodman!!
Leon: You totally did it… Blood Moon Champion!
(Rashad picks up Valkyrie parts and walks away)
Rashad (Thoughts): Remi Itoh, I’ll be coming to crush you sooner or later!
Me: Rashad, let’s have another battle really soon!
Rashad (Thoughts): Tch… Man, I hate that Guy.
(The Referee hands me a Huge Trophy Cup with a Carved Pumpkin face on it filled to the brim with Candy as someone from the shadows comes up to me)
Hanami: And there we have it, folks, our Blood Moon Champion has been crowned!!
Mark: That was an entertaining battle.
Me: I know why you came here.
Mark: Uh… I don’t know–
Me: It’s fine, you had fun when we battled and you want to be my friend I’m guessing?
Mark: I guess…
Me: *Grins* Wanna go Trick or Treating together? We could get a Sweet Candy haul!
Mark: Count me in!
Leon: Me too!
Me: Leon?! Where’d you come from?
Leon: I ran over here as soon as I heard Trick or Treating!
Me: Fine, let’s get going!
~At Night as the Blood Moon Glows Brightly~
Mark: Remi, we haven’t hit this house yet! Let’s go check it out!!
Me: Yeah–
(A Purple Light glows in the alleyway catching my attention)
Leon: What’s holding you up?
Me: I’ll catch up.
Mark: Um… Okay.
(I walk through the alleyway as I see a Teenaged looking person with a Heaghog)
???: Hello.
Me: Um… Hi.
???: I’m Lean Valhalla–
(Purple Flames Surround Lean as his eyes glow Yellow and the marks on his face glow bright purple)
Me: *Gasps*
Lean: It’s taking over again!
Me: What’s taking over?!
Lean: My Beyblade! *Roars Loudly*
Me: Um… Are you okay?
Lean: Don’t become like me… Run!!
Me: But…
Corrupt Lean: Run!!!
(I’d run out of the alleyway as Lean’s Bey falls out of his pocket and glows brightly)

Well guess I’ll post mine.
The ground is perpetually damp, the buildings creak, and the sun seems more like a hole forced into the sky than the real thing, but that is not why the town by the sea is ruined. The town has existed for centuries and will exist for centuries more. It cannot be felled by mugginess, or ancient architecture, or seasons without sun, but perhaps by something that is imagined. The town is not good for the imagination.
The inhabitants have grown adept at willful ignorance, ignoring the consistent murmur that envelops the town and the shrill calls periodically resounding from the sea. They become ghosts, turning off their brains and transforming into snuffed-out candles, and if they can’t, they stuff their ears with cotton. The pretending has become more difficult in recent years, however, what with the disappearances.
They’re always the same: there one day and gone the next, nothing disturbed, a trail of footsteps on the shore, as if they never existed to begin with. Easy to forget, easy to ignore, and questioning has never brought salvation, but mothers hold their children closer all the same. They all know who took them. If death was an animal, its breath would smell like the ocean.
On the same day the scientist returns to the town, the bodies begin surfacing. It’s a trickle at first–a horrified fisherman stumbles backward when he sees the carcass caught in his net, a child playing by the rocks mistakes a corpse covered in seaweed for a mermaid, a family of four stands paralyzed in front of a body kneeling on the shore. The scientist glances at the crowd gathering at the last scene, holds back his daughter, and shoves her into his childhood home by the sea, the sort that talks through coughing pipes and whining floorboards. He doesn’t walk to the morgue until the girl is sound asleep. She is not allowed answers.
Each day brings new bodies. The ones that float to the surface or wash up on shore are bloated and far beyond anyone’s reach, driving their families to silence and pleas for amnesia. Madness is avoidable, though, and they crawl into their beds, unfeeling and already forgetting. The unlucky families are delivered exhibitions. The corpses appear on the shore, the pier, the rocks, always kneeling, always stiff, always reverent, like bodies frozen into classical sculpture. The unseen perpetrator lurks in the murky depths, only appearing in the articulation of the body.
The scientist is silent as the medical examiner speaks of cuts, fractures, lashes, and bruises, as the police chase serial killers, as the mother of a late young man is found hanging in her bedroom. He retreats back into his house, where his daughter spends all her days. Delighted, she runs to him, but he shakes her off and shuts the door behind him. In his childhood bedroom, the scientist becomes a copyist, scrawling pictures of the calls fervently, recording pitch and thought and those oceanic depths.
The girl is not allowed answers. She is not allowed to go near the ocean. She is not even allowed dirt. But she allows herself imagination. The house becomes her life, ripe to draw out sounds and stories and a friend. The girl makes a friend. She never sees it, but she knows it’s there. She is not certain of many things, but she is so sure of those words, deep and hazy and warm, oh, so warm. The tremulous tone makes one drunk, so ruined to hear it even only in dream and intimate whispers. The scientist is engrossed in his work, poring over autopsy reports and secondhand information. He speaks of sight, but she sees the eyes.
The girl’s friend comes to her in a dream one night, and she can’t help herself. Entranced, she climbs out of bed, creeps past her father’s office, and walks into the sea. The water rises up to embrace her, and when she is fully immersed in the sea, it kisses her palms and strokes her hair, filling the hollow in her systems, pure euphoria. She feels rather than sees her friend in front of her, weightless and ethereal and inky black as it floats suspended in this hidden world. The words ring louder than ever in her ears as it approaches her, and no one can ever call it killing.
They find the girl on the shore behind her father’s house the next morning. The scientist falters at the sight of her: raw and red, bones and nerves standing out white and yellow, skin flayed back. The previous bodies haunted their finders with the extension of their twisted limbs and their glassy eyes staring up at the sky, but the girl has no limbs and no eyes. She has been stripped of her senses. Her eyes were gouged out, and she ceased to see. Her ears were cut and her tongue was bitten, and she was rendered silent. She will be in the dark, conscious and cut off for decades, but it is not death.
In the weeks that follow, the girl dips her stumps in paint and covers the house’s walls with eyes. The scientist watches and wonders if he can save her or if that’s merely the dream of every would-be conqueror. The people sometimes say, when they think he isn’t listening (but he is, he always is), that the devil took her soul and twined it with his own, that ghosts and sea monsters follow her, worship the body she is cursed with. They watch as she crawls out of the home, her father lingering behind her. They expect him to eventually smother her with a pillow, wall himself off from the good things in the world, and wallow in that house forever, but he doesn’t. The girl crawls in the dirt toward the bottomless sea. She is allowed dirt now. The scientist will allow the child gone mad anything, now that she’s been denied everything that matters.

Oh, Kiryu is pretty much 100% unconnected to the internet. He's trying to focus on his exams (even left every discord server he was in).

not to sound rude or anything, but how would i do that? This thread is already public, and it's too much of a hassle to have everyone make their own threads to put the links in the poll, which is the only other way i can think of, but then you would still know, so id have to do it. I already need to make a new thread for the poll. I guess yall could delete ur posts, dm me the story, and i make a discord poll, but not everyone has access to that.
