Lots of questions regarding the current naming system ! - Blasterblader22 - May. 01, 2020

Hello everybody, posting here after quite a long time!

So recently the super king/sparking beys just came out, and needless to say I am very confused about their naming system.
Last time I kept up was during the god era and the naming system was quite simple back then-
layer-->disk--->frame--->driver.
And I was surprised to know I had missed an entire season worth of beys, i.e, the gatinko layer beys.
So maybe I am new to the naming system and hence I cannot understand it well, but here goes-
The new valkyrie is called-
Valkyrie- which is the "superking chip",so akin to the face bolt of yesteryears I suppose?
Brave-Which is the "ring"?
So these two parts combined make up what was previously known as the layer, right?Or am I doing something wrong?
next up,
Chassis-2A
Now here is where my confusion begins.
At first I thought this was the fusion of the disc and the frame.
Then I saw cS and gR(also, is this how they are abbreviated or is the naming scheme different now?)and noticed they have a chassis AND a forge disc, which is not the case with bV, or the two new protagonist beys(Helios and Hyperion) as they have only a chassis and not a forge disc.
This has really confused me a-lot. Doesn't t having two metal parts give you quite an obvious advantage. Obviously ,here I assume both parts are in-fact made of metal,which might be wrong. Also, wont it look quite bulky from a side profile effectively having 2 disks?So basically what is the main difference btw a chassis and a forge disc?
Evolution'-the driver, this hasn't changed.
And my last doubt, what is the order of the naming system?
is it:-
chip-->ring-->disk-->driver-->chassis?
Because if yes, it is really confusing!
So finally, thanks for reading such a tedious post and thanks for any and every answer!
(Also on a side note, can they please for the love of god stop changing the main character and beyblade system every other season?It gets really confusing you know!)

Moving this into Q&A, for obvious reasons. Welcome back.

RE: Lots of questions regarding the current naming system ! - lilphilyb - May. 01, 2020

Here is the chart for naming.

Single layer/Dual

Layer -> Disc -> Driver

God Layer/Cho-Z

Layer -> Core disc/disc -> Frame (optional) Driver

GT layer

GT chip -> Layer Base -> core disc/disc -> frame (optional) -> Driver -> Layer Wieght

Superking layer

Superking chip -> Ring -> core disc/disc (if there isn't a double chassis) -> Frame (if there isn't a double chassis) -> driver -> Chassis

RE: Lots of questions regarding the current naming system ! - BlueCheetoh - May. 01, 2020

its not that they don't have discs its that there chassis are fused with the disc

Ok so basically the ones on valkyrie, hyperion and hyperion(2a,1a and 2b,respectively) are equivalent to a chassis and a disc?Which is not the case with the parts found on satan and ragnarok(1s and 1d)right?

Whats a double chassis supposed to be? Also,another question,the hurricane disk on satan is a regular disk plus a frame right,whereas the wheel disc found on ragnarok can be used to attach a frame to it,right?And lastly,my original question about the weight advantage pertains

double chassis is what we talked yabout with t being fused to the disc

A double Chassis is a chassis that takes the roles of both the chassis and a normal disc (non-core disc) and no, Hurricane is not a regular disc + frame and Wheel is not compatable with frames.

Ok so I get the part about wheel not being compatible with frames, but doesn't hurricane have some plastic parts underneath the metal?Also,are there no teeth on layers anymore?

On the new system, they have something called chassis. The chassis include the teeth. When assembled all together. The beyblade will have teeth. Hurricane doesn’t have a frame. It’s just a free spinning plastic part.

Ah.....okay, it makes much more sense now!
Thank you so much everybody!
edit-what about the abbreviations tho?have they changed?And what about backwards compatibility?

how does the huricane frame affect battle

In regards to the naming, for Sparking the ring is capitalized and the chip is abbreviated with two letters, the first being capitalized as well.

So Glide Ragnarok is GRg
Brave Valkyrie is BVl
Super Hyperion is SHy
King Helios is KHl
Curse Satan is CSt

Drivers remain compatible across burst.  Single Chassis + ring performs similarly to a 'layer' requiring a disc/frame, so single chassis beys can share more with previous gens.  Double chassis include the disc/frame, so only the driver is backwards compatible in that case.

With Sparking, like with Mugen lock beys, Electric drivers and 'Generate' coming out during GT for example, all of these unique twists all still battle together nicely though, so catching up through GT is still worthwhile.

So 1a,2a and 1b are only backwards compatible with drivers whereas 1d and 1s can use older discs as well,right?

RE: Lots of questions regarding the current naming system ! - MysticZone - May. 03, 2020

Some Chassis can hold discs, and some ARE the discs.
