Hello, so yeah i would like to know if removing that chip (without that gold tool) in a safe way is possible.

If your nails are long enough, you can just undo each of the four little clips with your fingers and pull the chip off yourself. That's what I usually do anyway.

Yeah as long as you have the tool a toothpick or long nails anything to push the tabs back should work just fine, hope this helps
