i have some gift cards to eb games, that i was thinking of spending on mario kart wii, but ssbb looks good to so i was wondering what i should get.

Well I would have to say Brawl because Mario Kart isn't out yet.
But really I would go with Brawl first just because it is the shizah.
Then get Mario Kart.

Brawl's a fighter, Mario Kart's a racer. Just pick the genre you like more. I always do some research on games before I actually buy them, so watch some vids of both on YouTube or something and decide which looks more fun for you.

If avoiding financially supporting Nintendo is your goal, forget the console itself and just download the ROM and Project64. XD
