The point of making Gwyn the center antagonist is that it’s a character close to the MC making it a unexpected turn so just simply writing him out creates more problems than solving them (as does writing out any character).

The whole point is that this would be a different version of the story we got. Gwyn wouldn't feature in it. There's nothing narratively impossible about adjusting the story in that way.

While you’re at it make Kyle the main villain. You can’t just make any remotely interesting character important otherwise there’d be way to much. Writing out Gwyn and making the main villain focused too much on his own insecurities honestly just seems like a bad idea all together because then there’s going to be this awkward transition between when he turns good from bad (which is why in these kind of shows the mv gets killed).

You don't have to like the idea. Your perfectly within your rights not to. But there's nothing narratively wrong or impossible about having Arthur be the main villian. Gwyn wouldn't feature in this version of the story. I already stated how it could be done while giving Arthur more depth and dimension and that's just one way among many. The skill of the writer to take what's before them and weave an interesting story from it is what will make or break it. And I didn't say Arthur would have to turn good, furthermore turning a villain from bad to good is absolutely possible to pull of well, once again, all in the skill of who's writing it.

Arthur was never meant to be a main villain so to elevate his position requires drawing out his character which could turn very bad.

It's all in the skill of who's writing it. There's nothing inherently wrong in the idea.

Arthur already has his motivations and reasons tho right?

RE: Random Beyblade Anime and Manga Thoughts - EarthHelios - Jan. 15, 2021

Arthur wanted to take over the WBBA but failed. Tho I would say after he defeated Aiger I wonder if he actually did?

I'm talking about expanding on and giving more depth to that. A skilled writer could certainly do that. I already laid out one of many way that could be accomplished. It's all in the execution.

How could more depth be added though? He's just a weak guy that uses fake power to get to the top so even if he's weak it doesn't matter anymore. How do you expand upon that?

Your idea requires completely changing his character and motivation. I'm talking about building upon what we already have. What we have is a guy who's weak at his core so he uses Apocalypse to create the illusion of power to become a king, so it doesn't matter if he's weak because everyone will just have to submit to him. Your idea is a guy who had his friend terrorized by Phi and he got scared since no one was strong enough to stop Phi for a long time, so he decided to force everyone to be stronger. This isnt a bad idea, however changes rather than builds off of Arthur's existing character.

It's adding to his motivation. He wants to change the blading league to one focused on strength. That was established in the show. This gives depth to that motivation. It wouldn't be much of a rewrite if everything was left as is when it comes to the character. This is taking that character we already have and adding layers to him. I never advocated leaving the character as is. My whole point in all of my statements on this is taking the potential of what this character and arc could have been and bringing that to the screen.

That completely ignores the other side of his character though. He's weak and uses Apocalypse to seem strong so he can become a king. What happened to that? Where did it go? That's his entire motivation. If he was strong he would have a completely different one. The reason he forces people to become strong is because he makes himself out as a big strong guy so people see that they could be as strong as the false image of him, which entices them to join Inferno.

RE: Random Beyblade Anime and Manga Thoughts - 6Jupiter5 - Jan. 15, 2021

Which main burst protagonist (will do all of them later) performed the best statistically:
Rules:
There’s a category for percentage and my point system (more on that later)
Each protagonist gets 1 season (the season which they are most dominant)
Point system:
In battle Royales if you win you get a + of how many people you beat, but if not then you get a minus 2
Tag teams and 1 v 2 counts as just one battle
Win: +1
Lose: -1
Draw: 0
Valt: (evolution, this was the best version of him and giving him 2 seasons seems really unfair)
Valt had a total of 53 battles out of that he lost 18 times and had 4 BNFS (battles not finished) putting him at a win percentage of around 54% and he has 34 points

Aiga: turbo
Aiga had 259 battles over turbo out of which he lost 36 battles and had 3 BNFS this places him at a 86% win rate and at 220 points

Drum had a total of 28 battles losing 10 battles having only 1 BNF and 1 draw (not counted so it’s basically a BNF)
Drum’s win rate was 62% and he had a total of 16 points

Hyuga and Hikaru coming soon

Standings so far for percentage:
1st: Aiga
2nd: Drum
3rd: Valt

Standings for points:
1st. Aiga (due to large amounts of battles kind of like Xander)
2nd. Valt
3rd. Drum

Overall best performing protagonist: Aiga (note I did count his one massive lose in the 9 Blader battle royals as 9 points lost, no other protagonist loses battle royales)

Although I like Arthur as a character I never understood that part. “Take over” kind of doesn’t make sense but I guess they simplified the term since it’s a kids show. Inferno is kind of it’s own organization and I think he wanted Inferno to surpass the wbba by destroying its reputation or something along those lines. If this was a logical show the wbba wouldn’t even acknowledge Arthur (his challenge to the wbba) and should he have interrupted an organized event again, they would have taken legal action.

People maybe there wont be a tie breaker. Who knows yet? Maybe Valt and Rantaro lose to Aiga and Ranjiro and Shu and Lane.
My predictions from the round robin:
1. Shu and Lane; 5 wins 0 losses
2. Hikaru and Hyuga: 3 wins 2 losses
3. Valt and Rantaro: 2 wins 3 losses
4. Lui and Drum: 2 wins 3 losses
5. Free and Sisco: 2 wins 3 losses
6. AIga and Ranjiro: 1 win 4 losses
