Yeah the sad thing about it is that people claim to say Lain had plot armor when in reality he actually had strategy in most of his battles. The only battle where he truly had plot was the Group A Battle Royale. Also, people fail to realize that Lain actually used strategies in his battles. This community needs to stop with this stupid "plot armor" excuse. It originated as a criticism for Lain, but now the community has overused it and just claim plot armor whenever a newer character beats an older one even when the argument is not applicable. It's just cope at this point. If we're being unbiased about instances of plot armor Valt probably has the most plot armor out of any burst protagonist while Aiger has the least. So many of Valt's wins from the first two seasons were a result of something he did on accident, unintentionally activating a function of his bey, or an upgrade he was given, all of which are textbook examples of plot armor. On the other hand it was almost always shown how Aiger won, and it was also shown why Aiger advanced so much faster than Valt, and even though Aiger also got upgrades they never gave him free wins, in fact he went on losing streaks after each one. A perfect example of this would be after the Luinor Cup where he went on a 6 battle losing streak other than his battle with Kyle. Sparking could have been such a better season if they utilized Lain more like he is in the manga. And if the time frame was 24 minutes. Btw I don't want to anger any fans this is just my opinion.

Yeah, Sparking was when I really tuned out of the Beyblade Burst anime. That and 1) the anime was overall going downhill for me, anyway; and 2) I just have no time for watching the anime anymore

To this day, I cant list the following seasons after Turbo in order simply because I didnt care about the later seasons that much

Not a lot. Just lack of interest and other problems I had with the anime series in general -- characters I found hard to be attached to (Burst's habit of throwing away characters after awhile didnt help either) and not-so-stellar writing. There was not a lot of reasons for me to keep watching

I've always wondered why the beys in the Burst anime have end trails to them. To be more specific i'm talking about the lines behind the bey that follow it's movement.

I feel like that's just an effect thing, i don't believe it was ever explained in the Anime. Another interesting part is that in GT, the little trails would turn gold when the bey would enter Gold Turbo/Hyper-Flux (In the case of Dark/Superior Turbo, i don't remember.)

Burst has some awesome effects. What are your thoughts on the animation to Burst compared to other anime series you've seen?

Burst imo has a more prettier animation style compared to Plastic Gen and MFB imo but as far as overall animation, it's really just gone down hill after GT and obviously corona contributed to some of that but mainly because the animators were most definitely not getting paid enough which probably explains why DB Episode 52 is really the best animated episode for that season, most everything else was just eh.. doesn't really help matters none that DB was just an above average season for Burst just in general

You think so? I think in Sparking the animation was really good. I mean every anime that has ever existed has had animation errors so i'm not going to base it off that. Also Sparking has had the most consecutive amount of god-tier animation episodes than any other Burst season. So I don't think corona played a part in how animation went.

Sorry for the late response but the reason people say he has Plot Armor is because he does. There is literally no growth with him and he just beats up the Legends left and right with his Flare. The thing that pisses me off about Lean is that all he has to do is start screaming then he beats characters that have literally been training for years and are at the top of the world. It's like saying that a kid who's never played soccer in his life beats someone who has trained for almost a decade and is one of the best soccer players in the world. That isn't supposed to happen and Beyblade is treated as a sport in the anime. Lean is not the only person who falls victim to this though, Hyuga also has a lot and some may argue more than Lean Plot Armor. He just yells "ZoOm ZoOm KaBlAmO" and then he just instantly wins. Literally, no character growth happened with him for him to get stronger. Hikaru is a very cool character and is also very underrated and even though he had Plot Armor also at least he had some growth but Hyuga and Lean just start yelling and with their Power of Flare immediately just win. The thing that pisses me off the most about Lean is how he basically single-handedly solo'd 3 Legends with the Power of Screaming. That was extremely stupid and badly written. Sparking in my opinion and many many others is the worst Beyblade Burst Season and I'd go as far to say probably the worst season of Beyblade as a whole. It was just really messy and the Two Protagonist thing did not work well at all. I personally would've just preferred Hikaru himself just being the protagonist but nothing I can do about it. People are not just using Plot Armor for Lean as an excuse, it is a very real thing in the Anime and one of the Anime's worst flaws.

There are a few circumstances you're forgetting about Lain.

1. He's trained by the Shu Kurenai so he's bound to be a powerhouse.

2. A newer character beating an older character is by no means "plot armor". Plot armor in my eyes is just a stupid cope people like to use to cover up the fact that it wasn't a fair match. It's obviously real but it's not always a case like this.

3. Like I had previously mentioned before, after researching myself I actually found that Lain surprisingly used strategies in his matches. Plus half of the wins Lain got was the fact that he was stronger than his opponent. Like the battle with Ranjiro in episode 20 and Silas in episode 26. Now I will say this, Lain 100% had plot armor in that Battle Royale. I completely stand with you when I say that's a botched match. If you want I can personally go through every battle Lain was in explaining how it wasn't plot armor in PMs. And I can also explain Hikaru and Hyuga's case as well.

Also I respect your opinion about Sparking. If you think it's a terrible season then that's your opinion to have. I'll stay here and keep mine. I'll be in my pm's waiting for a response.

You don't really need to explain it in dms since we have the Anime Chat here. And what Strategy? All I see is Lean just screaming to win battles, even though Lucifer has a barrier it shouldn't be unbreakable (Which it basically is most of the time in the anime) which basically is Plot Armor. And I never said just because a newer character beats an Older Character it is Plot Armor. It's just that there was never any development to Lean and he would just scream to defeat other Powerful Bladers. Just because Lean was trained by Shu doesn't necessarily make him a powerhouse. You cannot just make someone a Powerhouse by training them, all you can do is focus on what you mainly need to improve and learn new tricks. You can't automatically pass down your power to them (For example: How Shu was teaching Lean how to Launch Properly and to have proper balance). Also, your definition of Plot Armor is kinda incorrect. Plot Armor straight from google is "used to refer to the phenomenon in fiction whereby the main character is allowed to survive dangerous situations because they are needed for the plot to continue" this is Beyblade and honestly not this deep (Since this mainly applies to stuff like Anime). I'm not saying your opinion is wrong to like Sparking, I'm just saying people aren't saying Lean has Plot Armor for no reason.

Right on the money. Even if one put Lain aside another major problem Sparking had was in its character work,it's very much lacking in that regard. The season didn't really take the time to progress their characters forward in any meaningful way.

RE: Random Beyblade Anime and Manga Thoughts - God Dragruler - Oct. 20, 2022

Now theirs one thing i want to point out about lain him being trained by shu shouldn't really be use as in example for his strenght, cause if that was the case Fubuki would be top tier but we know his not. Lain had the hidden potential from 5he begining he just coudnt use it properly and was to destructive with it, shu was simply refining and Polishing Lain just like back than when shu did it for aiga. Shu just help them achieve their strenght faster cause not only he understand beyblade better most bladers unlike most bladers he analyze everything calculate everything to understand whats going on. But it wouldnt work if the bladers themselves arent good a teacher can only make you good if you got the potential. Lain anime Wise was indeed lacking which made him not being like so much. Another thing i want some to keep in mind about the whole plot armour thing a character who has a losing streak doesnt mean you dont have plot armour that doesnt invalidate the plot armour itself cause winning all the time doesn't also mean you got plot armour its circonstance in a story that makes a plot armour a plot armour.

Yeah looking back I somewhat agree. Shu saw Lain as a potential threat with his Flare when he saw him battle in New York. Another thing I liked about Sparking was that later in the season Shu went rouge he put on this black coat to show Lain that blading is fun. And when Lain finally changed, Shu threw away that black coat symbolizing that he finished the job and Lain is purified.
