Why does the R145 soon track fail at absorbing attacks and providing a good defense?

The rubber acts as brakes for the Beyblade against anything it touches and the shape makes it even worse. Though it is heavy enough to provide Defense that way.

What would need to happen with the shape for it to reduce recoil?

It would need to:
1. Not be made of rubber
2. Be completely round and/or free-spinning
