Energy Layer-Yegdrion/Yggdrasil - Rebel Blader - Dec. 03, 2017
Quote:==Description==
Yegdrion is a Stamina Type Energy Layer named after Yggdrasil, the tree of life in Norse mythology, however to represent the anime’s rendition of this Layer’s beast, two dragon heads are present on either side near the centre of the Energy layer.
It is a square-shaped energy layer with two Dragon heads and two sloped blades meant to represent dragon claws on each side which make up the primary points of contact of this layer.There are two small notches on either side of the layer giving it a rough perimeter, which may imply high recoil but the prostutions are too shallow and produce little recoil.
Most of the Weight of Yegdrion layer is focused on its perimeter. While this may imply high stamina potential, the square shape and rough perimeter of the layer produces recoil which diminishes the Stamina of the layer. Making it outclassed by Energy layers like Doomscizor and Guardian Kerbeus, stamina-wise. While the sloped blades may imply destabilizing properties thier angle is too shallow for that and they serve no purposes other than creating recoil. The recoil produced by the its shape is very low to be useful for Attack Customizations. Further more, the Takara-Tomy release of Yegdrion features four teeth of short length which are unable to handle its recoil making it extremely prone to Burst finishes. Due to these reasons, Yegdrion has no competitive usage in any type of Customization.
==Overall==
Overall, Yegdrion has no competitive usage and is only suitable for collection purposes.
==Product List==
==Takara-Tomy==
- B-31 Yggdrasil Ring Gyro (green)
- BG-03 Random Layer Collection Vol. 3 (Translucent red)
==Differences in the Hasbro Version==
The Hasbro release of Yegdrion features moderate slopes, giving it greater burst resistance than its Takara-Tomy counterpart and allowing the layer to withstand its own recoil, however the slopes are weaker than those of layers like Kerbeus, Anubion A2 and Jormuntor J2 making it lag behind these afforementioned layers in terms of burst defense. The low recoil design and high flywheel effect produced by its outward weight distribution makes it one of the best layers available for Stamina Customizations in the Hasbro-Only Format. However, it is still overshadowed by layers with similar Stamina propeties but greater burst resistance such as Kerbeus and Jormuntor J2. Due to this, Yegdrion is not a must-have but a welcome-addition to a blader's collection.
==Use in Stamina Customization==
Yegdrion can be put to use in Stamina Customization Yegdrion Gravity/Heavy/Spread/Knuckle/2/4 Glaive/Cross Orbit/Atomic.The high Stamina of Heavy/Gravity/Knuckle/Spread/2/4 Glaive/Cross synergizes with Yegdrion's own and Orbit/Atomic further bolster stamina due to their low friction. This combination is capable of outspinning most of the popular Stamina/Defense Customizations but is highly vulnerable against Attack combinations.
==Use in Mobile Stamina Customization==
Yegdrion can be put to use in Mobile Stamina Customization Yegdrion Gravity/Spread/Knuckle Accel/Zephyr. .The high Stamina of Yegdrion is further bolstered by the outward weight distribution of Spread/Knuckle/Gravity. It also allow this customization to stay on the tornado ridge for a longer period of time,this combined with the high stamina and ability to ride the tornado ridge, of Accel/Zephyr allows this Customization to outspin the opponent by avoiding contact with it.
updated. did not removed mobile stamina combo since testing is neeeded on that before classifying it as obselete.

The recoil produced by the its shape is very low to be useful for Attack Customizations. Further more, the Takara-Tomy release of Yggdrasil features four teeth of short length which are unable to handle its recoil making it extremely prone to loses by Burst.
==Overall==
Overall, Yggdrasil is outclassed for Stamina by many other Layers and incurs self-Burst far too easily. While it can act as a consistent counter against Xcalibur, with the release of the Switch-Strike/God Layer System, that niche use is no longer viable.
As such, Yggdrasil is recommended for collection purposes only.
