You need to buy several in order get good parts to customize. You can't get far with a stock Beyblade. Furthermore, there are far more than 27 in the game (at least if we're talking about Takara Tomy)

Adding to this, if u have tons to spend, u would essentially need one of the random booster beys from the tornado wyvern random booster that has atomic, and also drain fafnir starter.

There is no best, #1 Beyblade. And there is certainly no stock Beyblade that can win tournaments. You will have to get several Beyblades to get good parts. But if you just want to buy 1 Beyblade to start out with I would recommend you buy any starter.

Killer Deathsyther is pretty bad, IMO the only good part you can get with buying it is Vortex which is only mediocre

If you put them up against dual layer system beys, yes. But against metal fight, they will get steamrolled as usual.
