Provisional Ruling Clarification: Legality of Hasbro Beyblade Burst Parts - Kei - Sep. 03, 2016 Hasbro Beyblade Burst Energy Layers & Performance Tips (Drivers): Temporarily Banned from WBO Organized Play Hey World Bladers, With the release of Hasbro's version of Beyblade Burst this past week came the discovery of several key differences and incompatibilities with TAKARA-TOMY's Beyblade Burst parts. The most important being: Hasbro Energy Layers use a sloped sliding mechanism instead of the original teeth mechanism implemented in TAKARA-TOMY Layers. Hasbro Performance Tips (Drivers) have shorter teeth to accommodate this new sliding mechamism, making them attach more loosely to TAKARA-TOMY Layers. TAKARA-TOMY Drivers do not appear to be compatible with Hasbro Energy Layers without applying some level of force. With these issues in mind, and the prospect of the two brands potentially being mixed in WBO Organized Play events before we have had time to fully test and understand the situation that has been presented to us, we have decided to temporarily ban all Hasbro Beyblade Burst Energy Layers and Performance Tips (Drivers) from WBO Organized Play events. Disks released by Hasbro are still legal for use. We would like to emphasize that this is merely a temporary measure meant to buy us some time to figure out the best way to move forward with the inclusion of Hasbro Beyblade Burst parts into our tournaments. Whether this means there will be separate TAKARA-TOMY and Hasbro formats or whether we will allow them into our events as they currently stand remains to be seen and will require more discussion and testing.
