New Beyblade System Ideas - KingAsh - Jun. 18, 2016

Hey guys, I want to start this discussion because I feel that beyblade as a hobby is a bit toylike (by design and for a reason). I'm wondering if you guys have any ideas as to how Takara Tomy could make the hobby more competitive, complex and more appealing to a older or bigger audience.

Who needs takara tomy to make it for an older audiance when WBO is doing that for us :p

As far as complexity goes, that was kinda lost after plastics. But its still pretty complex.

The WBO is amazing at promoting beyblade for all ages, but what I mean is making beyblade less toy like and promoting beyblade as a competitive intense sport and more adult and older teen oriented. I think there should be a return to the engine gear system that is improved and beys that are bigger and more layered (MFB+ZERO G+PLASTICS WOULD BE AMAZING!!!!!).This system could run along side burst or a future system and would encourage immense customization and more planning and design. Don't get me wrong burst is amazing and competitive but I feel that beyblade could be huge for more people if there was a system like this. StupidStupidStupid

They changed the packaging during Metal Masters which I think was a huge bonus, compared to the bright colors of the original Fusion packaging. Unfortunately, they market towards children for a reason. Bigger audience, more dolla billz. WBO is fantastic in producing organized play, that right there is a huge step.
As for complexity, TT took a MAJOR step back with Burst. Personally feels like a kiddy version of Beyblade. It doesn't appeal to me in a competitive prospective. At all. I wasn't around during plastics, but if ya'll say that it's more complex than MFB then I'm in.
Also, from what I hear/see, in Japan it's incredibly competitive. I don't see how they would market the competitive side to countries where they don't sell product.

I agree the Metal Masters packaging was very nice, maybe I'm just fanboying but it would be cool if the WBO would explode and market Beyblade as a true world sport with this new and complex theoretical system I'm dreaming up. I have a few ideas as to how the system would work but I need ideas about how we would help TT market the sport and get it out from the underground community Stupid

Beylon has a really cool thread about tops as fighting robots kind of. Like basically very little rules and you design your own with whatever you want type of thing if I understand it correctly. Definitely one of the more fun threads to read on here either way, check it out:
