D.Gray-man - Hyuuga Neji - Feb. 24, 2008

Anybody else watch it before?

I'm a huge fan of the manga series. Hoshino really has done something special with the designs of it--it feels Victorian mixed with some really creepy Halloween stuff as well. The drawings alone are amazing.

However, the anime is pretty terrible (at least the first 52 episodes or so--I hear that the more recent stuff is getting better) at bringing the creator's vision to life. The designs just aren't as good, and the directing was awful.

Totally worthy reason to bump a thread inactive for nearly two years...

A friend of mine is pretty into the show. I borrowed a volume of the manga from him, and it wasn't my kind of stuff. Was thinking about watching the anime (of which he owns all of what Funimation has put out, including the Blu-Ray upscale, lol), but ditched that because I heard it suffers from lazy animation, filler, and doesn't have an ending.
