[Indiana] [United States] Indiana Comic Con/Indy Pop Con/Gen Con - Dapps - Mar. 30, 2016

I was making this in order to find out if there would be any interest in any kind of meetup/tournament at any of these conventions here in Indiana. Wanting to try meeting some of you as well as getting used to playing more often. ^^

I really hope it will be able to happen. Could you add a proper prefix tag in the topic title?

RE: [Indiana] [United States] Indiana Comic Con/Indy Pop Con/Gen Con - Dapps - Mar. 30, 2016

Like so? I think that's what you meant?

RE: [Indiana] [United States] Indiana Comic Con/Indy Pop Con/Gen Con - RagerBlade - Mar. 30, 2016

Confirmed for any of these and I can definitely help you host this. It would be a great opportunity for the community and Indy to get its first tourney off with a bang.

I am 100% going to ComicCon and Indy PopCon. I am new to the community, RagerBlade, so I have limited knowledge when it comes to running things, but I will definitely try.

EDIT: Currently reading up on how to run a tournament as well as messaging a few people. Would like to actually get this to be a thing!

RE: [Indiana] [United States] Indiana Comic Con/Indy Pop Con/Gen Con - RagerBlade - Mar. 31, 2016

Yeah I've hosted 3 or 4 tournaments so let me know if you need any help!

Will do! If we end up hearing from a few others, I will see about getting two BB10's for it. Is it worth considering try to run both MFB and Burst? I personally am into MFB, but I know that Burst is newer/picking up pace.

Will we want for this to be a casual gathering or legitimate WBO tourney? (Once again I am guessing this relies on attendance).

If we do get enough people, I will come up with some kind of prize support, for whichever one is ran.

RE: [Indiana] [United States] Indiana Comic Con/Indy Pop Con/Gen Con - Tri - Mar. 31, 2016

Hey! I'm Zane. Nice to see another Indiana blader serious about getting an event up and running. I am not too acrive anymore, but I would still love to attend more events if we could get it to happen. I have limited experience hosting, but I know how it's done and I will gladlt help publicize this and hopefully we can get a proposal up and hold an official event!

Might add these links to the OP

I have a BB10 and plenty of MFB beys to go around if people from the convention decide to join in (which would be awesome!!).

And I have no preference on the convention it is held. It's at least an hour and a half drive either way, haha. Thought comic con is pretty pricy just for general admission, and it's another $5 (or whatever it is now) if its WBO official without a blader passport.

Editing now to add the links. I figured that if anything, the convention centre in Indy is huge with plenty of space as far as outside of the actual convention is concerned, that we could just have it in one of the hall areas with tables. That way, people could attend this gathering without actually having to pay for Con admission. (Don't know if that is actually allowed, but have seen plenty of people playing in the halls during Gen Con over the past few years) I'll be doing a similar drive myself since I'll be coming from the Evansville area.

RE: [Indiana] [United States] Indiana Comic Con/Indy Pop Con/Gen Con - Tri - Apr. 01, 2016

Well, whether this ends up being an official event or not, I am totally down to meetup and battle and stuff.

RE: [Indiana] [United States] Indiana Comic Con/Indy Pop Con/Gen Con - Cake - Apr. 01, 2016

I'll be back home in Indiana this summer, so it's possible that I could attend something in Indy this summer (though cons are pricey and I'm already stretched thin financially due to AN)

RE: [Indiana] [United States] Indiana Comic Con/Indy Pop Con/Gen Con - RagerBlade - Apr. 01, 2016

I could host a qualifier and pay for the winner's ticket? I'm sure Kai-V will let us drop the normal $5 fee if the convention is pricy. We need 7 to host an official event. If everyone here came plus my brother we would have 5 people so we wouldn't be super far off. Plus we could probably gather wanderer's interest at the event.

I don't believe we will be holding it within the convention, but in the center, so wouldn't have to pay to enter the convention.

RE: [Indiana] [United States] Indiana Comic Con/Indy Pop Con/Gen Con - Bey Brad - Apr. 01, 2016

We typically will waive entry fees for conventions that already charge an entry fee. Smile

However, it might be worth exploring if you can run the event in collaboration with the convention. If you can settle on a host, I can help you reach out. Feel free to PM me!

Of course, if you'd rather not do it with the convention, that's OK to. But please make sure you're allowed to do so.

How would I go about contacting them or confirming that is allowed? Do you think I would need to confirm with the convention centre if it was held outside of the actual convention?

RE: [Indiana] [United States] Indiana Comic Con/Indy Pop Con/Gen Con - Tri - Apr. 03, 2016

Comic Con has a contact page. I guess just email the general inqueries address.
http://indianacomiccon.com/contact-us/

I think holding it near the venue would be just as nice as holding it within. I'm sure it would be super nice out this time of year too.

Would you guys be okay with a Facebook group chat to talk more about this? @[Dapps] @[RagerBlade]

If we could actually work with the con than we would actually be included on the events page which would be pretty sick.

EDIT: Yeah I'd be down

Anybody from Indiana going to AnimeCentral next month?

That's fine with me. Would be nice either way to be able to just be able to play wherever it is. @[Tri] if you want to send me a link to the Facebook group or your account, I'll add into it.

I wasn't planning on going to AnimeCentral, what's the exact date?

RE: [Indiana] [United States] Indiana Comic Con/Indy Pop Con/Gen Con - Tri - Apr. 03, 2016

I sent you a PM with a link to my profile.

Also, I just realized Comic Con is the same weekend as my prom :\.

RE: [Indiana] [United States] Indiana Comic Con/Indy Pop Con/Gen Con - Dapps - Apr. 11, 2016

Just messaged Brad. Will be making a new post soon, but just so everyone is aware, we are planning on hosting an actual tourney during the weekend of Indy Pop Con, June 17-19th.

I will still 100% be at Indiana Comic Con in a couple of weeks, so if anyone is wanting to meet up to play casually, let me know!

RE: [Indiana] [United States] Indiana Comic Con/Indy Pop Con/Gen Con - Dapps - Jun. 14, 2016

Just checking to see if anyone is still interested in this, so far only know of Tri and I.

RE: [Indiana] [United States] Indiana Comic Con/Indy Pop Con/Gen Con - RagerBlade - Jun. 14, 2016

I'm still into it for sure haha. I just never heard anything back and assumed it just fell apart.
