Isn't the series corny? - Elmo - Oct. 11, 2007

Thought I'd make a topic in this thread.

The beyblade anime is ridiculously cheesy/corny/whatever you want to call it. I think it's what they say during the beybattles. I watched and adored the shows in 4th grade, but now they just seem stupid ,sorry Chocked

There are certain episodes I like though, but I'd have to see them again to know which ones they are.

The beyblades will and always will be cool, however Smile

RE: Isn't the series corny? - Bey Brad - Oct. 11, 2007

It's a show about enchanted spinning tops.

Really, that's ridiculous enough for anything that happens during the show to not matter.

RE: Isn't the series corny? - Fleetscut - Oct. 11, 2007

in grev didnt they actually punch each other and stuff when they attacked?

RE: Isn't the series corny? - mdhvdukshsj - Oct. 11, 2007

Elmo, anime (and most of Japan) is corny/weird.

I need not post the Ninja Turtles.

Yeah they did. It seemed as if their energy was the beyblade's energy, or something like that. Corny twist to a more cheesy season.

And Brad, you have a point there. Bit-beasts and spinning tops. hmmmmmmm

RE: Isn't the series corny? - Fleetscut - Oct. 11, 2007

thats halarious. kids kicking the carp out of each other over a game of spinning tops

Not all anime is corny. There are a few instances I might be able to think of.............

by tomorrow.

RE: Isn't the series corny? - Buwie - Oct. 13, 2007

Yeah it's corny but not as corny as some cartoons and anime that are out know.

RE: Isn't the series corny? - Bey Brad - Oct. 13, 2007

Well, I made a forum for the anime and this is the discussion that occurs.

Maybe I shouldn't have Smile

I think V-Force's "Bitbeast Wrestling" battles were the point when I went "I don't think this series could get any cheesier"

To be honest, I don't think it ever did, until the final battle with Brooklyn when the blades were floating in space and still attacking each other while buildings fell apart.

2002's bit beast wrestling was really unwatchable

G-Rev started out with some very cool battle ideas, it's a shame they went so over the top near the end.

RE: Isn't the series corny? - Fleetscut - Oct. 13, 2007

i fell asleep when i tried to watch the movie. and when i tried again i couldn't sit through it for more then 5 minutes

RE: Isn't the series corny? - Bey Brad - Oct. 13, 2007

The movie is totally the worst. I can't believe how bad it is.

However, waterfall kid on DVD? Heck yes.

RE: Isn't the series corny? - OSW - Oct. 13, 2007

meh i understand and agree to an extent. but a few years back when i was watching it, it was fun and a nice fantasy for my dreams Tongue_out

it would be damn fun if life was like on beyblade where you didnt need to earn a living, just play beyblade all the time hehehe.

RE: Isn't the series corny? - Fleetscut - Oct. 13, 2007

most shows are like that

RE: Isn't the series corny? - SexyMichael - Oct. 13, 2007

Shonen corny?....no wai.

RE: Isn't the series corny? - Gruffy McGibber - Oct. 13, 2007

Brooklyn pointed out that Kai was getting alittle worked up over a game of spinning tops.....

Which was terrible ironic considering he actually loses his mind over it when Kai beats him in his re-match. Add to that Takao's battle where he went so far as to manipulate the fabric of space and I think even time... and it gets SUPER ridiculous.

I LOVED G-rev before the final couple of episodes I mean even when Garland is WAILING on Takao it's just a piece of awesomeness.

RE: Isn't the series corny? - Bey Brad - Oct. 13, 2007

FYI, Brooklyn said that because he had never been beaten. He only played Beyblade originally because he was brilliant at it.

RE: Isn't the series corny? - Katashi - Oct. 14, 2007

The manga had a more believeable ending. Regardless, the anime was cool, at least as far as G-Rev was concerned. It suprises me that I sat through 2002.

I read the last book in the manga series =/

It really was better than the anime, maybe because I didn't hear any battle cries or the cheesy voices of the anime dub.

Yeah I know it was just kinda funny.

I preferred the dub voices over the original Japanese. The female saiyus made them sound a bit too feminine.

They were ten years old.
