I don't intend to insult anyone here, but could anyone introduce me to the finer points of this game? I don't really see a difference between the different types of plates. I can see how the layers would be important to attacking and how the drivers make the bey move a little different.

Is there a guide somewhere that helps explain each part? I know it's a new game and only easily accessible in Japan so I understand if there's no real guide available yet. But any impressions or opinions on parts would be appreciated

While not as immediately obvious as the driver or layer, the disk provides additional contact points if either beyblade is angled (making its surface shape important) and changes the movement of the beyblade by altering its weight distribution. This is most obvious on balance type drivers as they already have tendancy towards two different types of motion in many cases.
