In 1972, Misaki, a student of Yomiyama North Middle School's class 3-3, suddenly died partway through the school year. Devastated by the unexpected loss, the students and teachers behaved like Misaki was still alive, leading to a strange presence on the graduation photo. In Spring 1998, 15-year-old Kōichi Sakakibara transfers into Yomiyama's class 3-3, where he meets Mei Misaki, a strange student whom their classmates and teachers seemingly ignore. The class is soon caught up in a strange phenomenon, in which students and their relatives begin to die in mysterious ways. Realizing that these deaths are related to the "Misaki of 1972", it is up to Kōichi and Mei to discover the cause of these mysterious deaths and figure out how to stop it before it kills them.

It seems interesting and i wonder if it can bring be the same type of thrill Ghost Hunt did since it's been awhile since i had that feeling.
From what we saw this episode there a few interesting things.
First of all the strange class and the general atmosphere there, people where nice to the main character but they also seemed to have a form of distrust not just to the main character but also to some of the other students.
Then there was the greeting in the hospital which is just strange he hasn't even been to class and there already greeting him in hospital.
The handshake was also a bit odd from what i understand it's unusual in Japanese culture and the reaction of the other students in that room was just strange.
The homeroom teacher didn't seem to care much and gave a depressed impression like he didn't want to be there at all.

Also the fact that they where trying to change the subject when the main character ask't where the girl was that greeted him in the hospital suggests that they are hiding something.
Not to mention that the class doesn't seem to interact with any of the other classes in the school they look completely isolated.
And the greatest question of all is that girl Misaki who seems to be one big mystery.
She gave the impression that being send to that class is like a death sentence.

The condition of the school wasn't really good either the seats on the courtyard and the courtyard seemed poorly maintained and the metal on the roof was rusting allot.
It seems like they haven't been maintaining the building at all which seemed strange since that school should have a large number of students just judging from the students in that one class.

Oh and did mention the visuals are beauty? Overall, I'd give the first episode a 9/10. I'd definitely keep watching!

Was a little better, but I'm annoyed by how the students keep dancing around about telling Kouichi what the situation is. Doing that for the sake keeping you guessing in these particular instance annoys the hell out of me. These episodes looks like they will be slow paced threw out to build it up. The cliffhanger got me wonder wtf is under that eyepatch.lol. Probably a bunch of maggots.
