Sword General Discussion - Sensei - Jun. 11, 2014 Anything sword-related goes here, whether it's a picture of a sword you made (PLEASE say if you made it or you bought it) or a myth you busted on swords, post it here! now, here is some places you might want to search if you want more: for getting swords - trueswords.com or budk.com The making of fantasy swords - Man at Arms, AWE me on youtube. AWE Me is good if you also just want to know how to make a sword real quick. You also can expect me to post a bit on pictures of my sword collection, and pictures of swords i forge. along with testing to see if some of the coolest myths in swordfighting are true. RE: Soda-tab chainmail, would it save you in a swordfight? - Synth - Jun. 11, 2014 Bullet proof vest wont absorb the buster sword's impact btw. Also, this "sword" discussion is spamming the Your Creations forum. I think it would be better if you made a "General Swords Discussion" thread in the General Discussion Forums. He's just making tutorials, but it would be better if you could make one thread for all your sword tutorials, and update the OP as you go along. RE: Soda-tab chainmail, would it save you in a swordfight? - Tri - Jun. 11, 2014 Yeah, all of these sword threads are getting a little out of hand. To make it easier and not have as many, just make a general-single thread for all of your tutorials. PM me when you do and I will close the others. EDIT: Instead of making a new thread, just update the OP of this one to make it easier. RE: Soda-tab chainmail, would it save you in a swordfight? - Sensei - Jun. 11, 2014 (Jun. 11, 2014 12:30 PM)Tr! RE: Sword General Discussion - Sensei - Jun. 20, 2014 found a new place i might get swords for collecting at: Budk and trueswords. Budk has awesome knives and swords for low price (got one today that only costed 19$ and it's pretty good so far) and Trueswords has amazing swords with garunteed quality, although a little more expensive. on budk make sure the sword is full tang and you should not need to worry about quality. RE: Sword General Discussion - Sensei - Jun. 24, 2014 tomorrow, i have arranged a dual with Midori, she is a Samurai, just like me, her father Tanaka, is THE Grand Master of the Samurai, and Tanaka believes that soon Midori would take his place as Grand Master. I've got a bit of how this fight might go on: Given Midori's technique of fighting is purely speed and countering, and I am best at Dual Wielding, this should be balanced, given fast fighting can block both the swords, and dual wielding can attack fast as a speedy samurai, this will be completely a stamina battle, who can fight the longest, now, I can fight for a little over half a week with no food, water, or rest, but, can she stay up longer? also, could her katana withstand such a long fight, even though I do not plan to fight the way i do (Chipping away bit by bit of the opponents sword, until they have to surrender because their sword would break apon further fighting) could her sword survive fighting that long with no maintenance inbetween? RE: Sword General Discussion - V2 - Jun. 24, 2014 Better film it RE: Sword General Discussion - Neo - Jun. 24, 2014 (Jun. 24, 2014 10:15 PM)Bastion Wrote: Better film it Yeah; it sounds really exaggerated. RE: Sword General Discussion - Sensei - Jun. 27, 2014 darn, lost on the match, rather easily, turns out her sword is of much higher quality steel than my sword, mine broke from the first hit (Rather embarrasingly, i lose the match because my sword broke) she has good eyes, she hit my sword in just the right spot for it to brake. I got rather hurt (big slash on my arm from my sword's blade flying) I am NOT going to post the video of my duel given how bloody it was is too graphic (Cut down to bone), and i don't want any warning level going up today. sorry i was rather late to post an update, i spent a day in the hospital, anyway, gotta forge a new sword when im well enough to, but next time Midori won't be the winner from her sword's quality alone. RE: Sword General Discussion - yt152430 - Jun. 27, 2014 Whats the full name of this "samurai" you fought, what school does she practice, lemme see that gash bro RE: Sword General Discussion - V2 - Jun. 27, 2014 (Jun. 27, 2014 7:42 AM)Sensei Wrote: I am NOT going to post the video of my duel given how bloody it was is too graphic (Cut down to bone), and i don't want any warning level going up today... but next time Midori won't be the winner from her sword's quality alone. lol What happened to you dual weilding strategy? I guess all that ability to fight with no food, water, or rest for over half a week straight didn't real serve much of a purpose. So you guys duel with actual swords and not wooden ones? How do you win? By getting an injury on the opponent? But injuries with swords are no joke if you slash too far. MY POINT IS THAT HE ONLY MENTIONED ONE BROKEN SWORD. Can you honestly say that none of his story seems fabricated or embellished? You really think that he folds steel over 3000 times, that he got cut down to the bone, that the ONLY reason he's refusing to post evidence is because of warnings, and that ANYONE really can tell from a distance, while in a duel, exactly where to hit steel so that it instantly shatters? Wow That's honestly mindblowing. What's the point in being hungry all the time when you fight xD Personally, his stories sound made up or highly exaggerated. RE: Sword General Discussion - yt152430 - Jun. 28, 2014 Well i had a sword fight with Obi Wan Konobi and he did the same thing , but i cant post the video as i dont want a warning, but now onto my $1000 bey made of meteorites and iridium. (Sorry for the off topic sarcastic rant but this whole thread was ruined by the farcical nonsense, sadly i think this should just be closed.) RE: Sword General Discussion - Sensei - Jun. 28, 2014 I really don't believe you got hurt. Video please. [/quote] Whoops, that quote command didnt work, well, as i said, i dont want any warning level going up, and doubt any parent would let a child see me bleeding badly, just doesnt seem right, besides, this thread is about swords not us getting hurt and posting videos of it, swords are real, sword injuries are real, when you duel with a real sword, yes injuries can happen, thats what happened here. as for yt152430 i didnt garuntee making that, and i said if i did I would post the video. the only reason i am not posting this is because i have a LOGICAL reason to not post it, (blood, as if most parents will be happy with their young kids watching that) a beyblade, if i soon make it, sure, nothing wrong with a video on that, only thing stopping me now on that is my skill (hope i can make it, doubt i will post it though, cause i dont find much more interest on here, im leaving now, gotta get well and train for my next duel) as for this thread, go ahead and close it, it's getting too off topic for me to get back on RE: Sword General Discussion - Neo - Jun. 28, 2014 (Jun. 28, 2014 7:02 AM)Sensei Wrote:Neo~ Wrote:I really don't believe you got hurt. (Not trying to be mean here.) If it were true, you'd post a link to a video with a WARNING of gore imagery. That wouldn't get you warned though. RE: Sword General Discussion - yt152430 - Jun. 28, 2014 Or maybe he could just answer my questions that ive asked already. Who are these supposed "samurai", what school of kenjutsu does she practice, how are they samurai if there is no more fuedal japan, do you know of the Meiji Era? RE: Sword General Discussion - Sensei - Jun. 28, 2014 they are no longer of need to fight in war, but their traditions and techniques stayed. Midori teaches the sword techniques within the dojo school in Osaka the Meiji Era was a Japanese era that lasted from September 8 1868, to July 30 1912. this thread for me is getting too out of hand, please some moderator just close this thread |
