The regular Anime was ridiculously awful, except for that little basement scene where they played La Catedral. The OVAs and Manga are where it's at.

Yeah the original series was fairly boring... Apart from the first episode.
The OVAs kick carp.

the orginal one had alot of good lines but story wise it didnt realy do anything for me the ending was anouying

it didnt solve the plot which they had going at all.
the fight against incognito was pretty cool tho but overall the series could have been alot better at least they had jan in it xD

Since the anime series was my first exposure to Hellsing I have to say I liked it. I do prefer the OVA's more. Just wished they would release them more frequently.
I haven't read the manga yet, but I'm guessing I probably should.
