Flow Spinners! :D - DRAGON KING - Feb. 03, 2014
So uh, this was my entry to the face contest, but I thought I'd post it! I might draw more later on.
FLOW SPINNERS
EXPLANATION :
The flow spinner system is rather simple, you launch the spinners and , with the use of very powerful magnets that retract from each other, they count on only they're airflow to stop the other beyblade. You may think these battles are very long, but they aren't since they are mainly plastic with low stamina. The set up of the spinners go like this:
PARTS:
1. Spirit Dish: has the emblem of the beyblade on it.
2. Air Flow Disk: creates most of the spinners airflow, each is unique to there spinner.
3. Ultra Magnet: the powerful magnet that is Inserted into the wind runner and creates the force that keeps the spinners from hitting each other but close enough that the airflow gimmick works. There are different types of these magnet such as : attack (a weak magnet that lets the spinner get as close as possible to use its air flow power), stamina (a strong magnet to let's it OS other spinners) and defence (the heaviest magnet to do the same as stamina, except heavier.)
4. Wind runner: its what the spinner spins on, there are different types such as: stamina (pointed for more stamina, but it has bad defence), defence (a ball for more defence) and attack (flat for attack obviously).

so I drew some spinners, I am happy with how they came out .

In the bottom left we have the spirit dish, in the bottom right we have the airflow disk connected to the spirit dish, in the middle left we have the defence Ultra magnet and in the top left we have the defence wind runner.

I remember this from the contest. It's an interesting idea I've played with myself. The idea of blades hitting each other with magnetic fields and wind is certainly an interesting one. I didn't want to post at the time (and gummy up the contest thread) but now that you're here, I thought I'd mention...
Basically you have a high wind-resistance blade with a magnet inside that both attracts and repels. You probably know this already, but for everyone else: the core technology to achieve this system is commercially available. The device you're after is called an INVERTER MAGNET. Follow the link for a purchase location but there are more and cheaper if you look around. The inverter array attracts until the inner magnet repels, creating a miniature tractor beam.
Along the same lines, there is also the CIRCULAR HALIBACH ARRAY which might give the system some variation. The array only repels - but it repels in every direction, which is unusual for a magnet. They are used in railguns. Might be good for stamina blades to "run away" from attackers.
As a final note, it is a little known fact that wind resistance and turbulence is actually the number one cause for a spinning top to slow down and fall - not friction, not hitting stuff but pure wind resistance. So there is merit in your basic idea too.
Anyway, there it is. Nice job creating a system that actually works to some degree.

I think that stamina types should be round and attack types should have blades to blow the air.
