Silent Hill Thread - Dude - Oct. 06, 2009

I don't know if there's already a topic for this, did a lil' research and I didn't found anything with such a name, anyway...

What a gory, gory series this is. I was told not to describe any of it, but anyone who played it probably knows what I'm talking about. My favorite is Silent Hill 2 (Would it simply be because of the awesome Pyramid-Head), but I have a soft spot for Silent Hill 4: The Room...

Anyway, I'd like to know what everyone thinks about that franchise, I'd like to know if I'm the only weirdo who likes them and isn't really scred by it all...

A friend of mine absolutely adores this series; I've been meaning to check out the first game.

RE: Silent Hill Thread - Zanzetsuken - Oct. 07, 2009

I like the series. I've only played 2 but I think the Silent Hill series are pretty awesome at scaring people! More than RE.

The first game's getting pretty rare, these days, since it's on the PS1 and all, but its really good and considered the heart for the series. Your friend is right to adore it Joyful_3

What are the two games you played, dragonsclaw?

RE: Silent Hill Thread - Zanzetsuken - Oct. 07, 2009

Silent Hill 2 and the Silent Hill Origins? It was on PSP...

RE: Silent Hill Thread - Dude - Oct. 09, 2009

You played Origins and second without playing the first one?

The Story must've been hard to understand, I assume?

Isn't the first one on PSN? Doesn't really matter though, the reimagining in Shattered Memories will be out soon on PS2, PSP, and Wii.

The first Playstation. Not sure if we're referring the same one...

No, not really. I get my sources of information from a few places. One, everyone knows... Wikipedia. And Youtube Cutscenes.

The PlayStation Network (PSN) is a service available for the PlayStation Portable, and PlayStation 3. The network includes the PlayStation Store, which is a marketplace for PS1 Games, PSP games, two PS2 Games (lol Buzz), PlayStation Network games, and DLC. I think Silent Hill is on the store.

Silent Hill as far as I know is currently available on the PSN.
If you're unfamiliar with the Silent Hill franchise, then it's definitely worth buying.
In personal opinion, the sequel was actually better than the original.
The orchestral score for Silent Hill 2 was amazing, along with an improved plot line (although it may be hard to follow if you haven't played the original).
Silent Hill is worth getting, even if it's only to lead you in to Silent Hill 2.
Consider it as the first half of a book, with Silent Hill 2 being the conclusion to the magnificent tale.
